Golf was my only good sport last week, DFS-wise. Broke even (almost) in NASCAR, got crushed like a bug in NHL, NFL and (as usual) NBA.

P.S. Two years ago, Lanto Griffin won. Homeless Hubbs and Scott Harrington were runner-ups. Imagine that. (Carlos Ortiz was 4th, so he will be in my pool again this week!)

They kept talking about a shoulder issue on Golf Channel (to the extent he might have WD if it wasn’t a home crowd event that he’s thrived at), but it sure didn’t get in his way too bad. I kept fading in Showdown and Weekend and he kept making tons of birdies despite missing a ton of greens. I’m staying fade, so he should Top 5 again.

Are we getting shot tracker back this week?

Should be, I remember last year shot tracker having an issue as it was using golf club of houston instead of memorial.

I’ll be there friday and sunday. Always fun watching your guys suck it up in person.

Just remember it was a different course two years ago. Last year is only stats for Memorial (unless you go back to like 1957 or something like that)

Thanks, I’ll need to check some comparable links (one of Betfair’s touts suggests the Masters). Of course since Ortiz won last year, I’ll still including him.

Based on my performance last week:

Winner: Someone who is not in my lineup
Fade: Anyone who is in my lineup
Sleeper: Me, on Saturday, when I realize that I don’t have a chance of winning

I read that you could actually use the GC of Houston (previous course for this tourney) as comp, along with Trinity in TX as good comps, as both are Bermuda and have similar fairways and roughs.

I think I’m using the last two years leaderboards plus the recent form as my research.

P.S. I haven’t been doing the 20-max core cascade the last three weeks. First week, I just didn’t have my homework done on time. But it worked out. Then, since there were no achievements (something that rewards 20 lineups entered into multiple contests), I’ve gone from 6 to 4 to 3. Now that DK has blown up daily rewards, this might be a permanent change.

Weird comparatives in my mind but everyone sees things differently – this event when at the GC of Houston was mostly played the week before The Masters with crazy fast greens, some tight driving holes and minimal rough. I’ve played that course and also been at the Houston Open when it was at the GC of Houston to see Phil win back in 2011. Watching the event last year at Memorial Park didn’t make me think of GC of Houston.

Trinity Forest didn’t have a single tree on it as it was built on an old dump and was kinda designed to play like a Links course so again pretty different than the other 2 courses.

Sure they are all Bermuda greens, but so is almost every golf course along and within an hour of the Gulf Coast from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida

Memorial Park is mostly tree lined holes but if I recall correctly, it is more of a bombers course as it is somewhat friendlier off the tee and it’s a pretty long Par 70 course. DJ and Koepka were Top 5 last year and Ortiz the winner is not a short hitter but there were also a few shorter guys scattered on the leaderboard.

(Whodat, I think you grabbed an older year’s course data or else the yardage/par for the paying Public but I believe it’s playing closer to 7400 yards and down to a Par 70 as it was last year)

If you are trying to fit two $10k+ guys or a $10k+ guy and 2 $9k+ guys, give Tyler Duncan a peek at $6300.

Made 4 of his last 5 cuts, accurate and semi-long off the tee. Is strong relative to this field in SG: T2G and ATG.

I’m also giving Joel Dahmen a look. He seems to have found something, making 9 of his last 10 cuts with 3 top 25s sprinkled in there. Another guy who is long and can score. Also grades out well relative to this field T2G.

I try not to take the same guys each week but I am very tempted to make it 3 weeks in a row for Seamus Power. Hasn’t let me down yet!

If you have been waiting patiently for your chance to roster Max McGreevy in a PGA contest, I have some good news for you.

  • timusbr

    just an offhand comment

I have kept watch on events that have both Koepka’s and pretty much, Chase does better. At 6000 the minimum, I am taking a couple.

Bingo, you answered your own question above…….😁

Tommy Fleetwood is safely in the T50 in OWGR, so which PGA events can he compete in again? All the WGC ones, some (all?) Majors, special invites?
