    Is it really that crucial?

I looked at the top player’s scores for each team last night (on FD), and then filtered out anyone that was under 5x value. I then sorted by top scores for each position, and here was the line up I was able to construct.

    PG Reggie Jackson 5200 29.90
    PG D’Angelo Russell 6700 43.30
    SG Victor Oladipo 5500 30.30
    SG Allen Crabbe 3700 24.80
    SF Robert Covington 7000 46.6
    SF LeBron James 11200 60.60
    PF Tobias Harris 5400 32.80
    PF Dario Saric 7400 39.30
    C Jusuf Nurkic 6500 77

That’s 384.60 points using only $58.6k which would have been good enough for 2nd place in the $3 GPP on FD. The person that came in 1st had 385.70 and used 2 players (Westbrook, McCollum) that didn’t go 5x.

Is there anything we can take away from this?

It’s not so much as going 5-6x everywhere. Some will outperform that and make up for the under 5-6x. Overall though your not winning if you don’t atleast 5-6x your over pts/dollar for the whole lineup. 384.6 @58.6k is 6.5x for the whole lineup if I did the math right.

In cash games, you need to 5x your overall salary ($60,000) most nights to cash. 60 × 5 = 300 FTPS. In GPP’s this year, 300 usually isnt doing it, so you need slightly more than that. Realistically you want your players to score more at the lower salary levels than you do at the higher if that makes any sense. Players like Westbrook, Harden, James, ect cant realistically reach over 6x because they are priced so high, however they will reach 5-6x most nights. The lower the salary goes, the more I’m hoping to get back in return. For example, If I use a guy who costs 5K, I am satisfied if he hits 5x (25 FTPS), however I want 8x (40 FTPS).

I always expect my high dollar plays to provide me with the most points, but I also expect my low dollar plays to provide the most value if that makes any sense. Thats why you dont need every player to go over 5x, but overall you do.

I agree with the idea that high priced players are needed for raw points (5-6x) and the value plays need more production per salary than the higher priced players (7-8x)
