DK Salaries are up so might as well get the thread/discussion going

Rory is top salary with Spieth, Scott, Day and Bubba not far behind; lineup construction will be interesting and a challenge given the small field, shorter cut line, likelihood of duplicate entries in huge GPP’s and the poor quality punts.

Does this mean no DFS next week. I know its match play week. for the main guys.

DK has contest for the puerto rico open

Tiger woods is listed on dk…is he actually going to play?

  • Cbed11

Been lurking for a while, finally decided to sign up. I know nothing about the finer points of golf, but I am addicted to dfs.

Going to be racking my brain for the next few weeks on my lineups.

What type of golfers are best suited for the course?

    I doubt it on Tiger

Na also says Out and he is not for the Masters, it just pulled his player page from this week

I expect they can still add a couple players as event winner in Houston still qualifies to get in.

Ryan Moore looks like good value or at least he did before the round today.

The top salaries are so high. Too high. Going to be a nightmare creating rosters.

  • walkoff9

Smylie Kaufman is going to be so highly owned. How can he only be $200 more than bowditch?

Not much different than I expected as there are really 4-5 clear favorites then Phil then everyone else

Masters rookies do not have a great history – unless your name is Spieth – only 1 or 2 have won in 1st attempt and none since Fuzzy Zoeller (I think) but agree Smylie will be popular as he hits it far and can put Eagles and lots of birds on the scorecard and everyone is gonna 1-4 guys in that price range. Not sure how much he has gone and played/practiced there, I’m sure since he won a while ago to qualify, he has been there but that is the issue for a lot of Masters rookies – they win in late Jan or February and don’t have a lot of time to make a site visit or if they do it is just 1 day. It definitely takes a few trips around the ol’ boys club to get the feel of the course and where to be on some greens.

I’ve been there in person twice from Wed-Sun and really enjoyed watching the guys on Wed practice chipping and putting to different spots on the greens (far away from the Wednesday hole locations that they wouldn’t use in the tournament).

With respect to lineup construction, I’m really concerned about mass duplication of entries – this year’s Masters is looking like a smaller than average field – every winner on PGA Tour this calendar year was already qualified except Vaughn Taylor. Fabian Gomez won this year in Hawaii but was already qualified from his win in June. The field is usually between 92 and 97 players (only over 100 a couple times) and I think this year there are 91 currently invited and we have some guys in doubt (Tiger, Furyk are injured) and I doubt Sangmoon Bae (Military service) is playing. The only players than can be added now are winner this week or in Houston in 2 weeks; likely the winner of Match Play is already in and the PRO winner doesn’t get invited as it is an opposite field event PLUS anyone in the Top 50 of World Ranking after the Match Playgets in (the Top 50 on Dec 31st were already invited) so this usually only adds 2 to 3 guys.

Other Masters Tournament info regarding “the Cut” and number of entrants:

    2015 – 55 of 97 made cut of +2 146
    2014 – 51 of 97 made cut of +4 148
2013 – 61 of 94 made cut of +4 148 * (anyone within 10 shots of the lead rule kicked in)
    2012 – 52 of 95 made cut of +5 149

With 300k entries or whatever and a shallow field here will be massive overlap. Not sure there will be unique winner here. For other majors it’s doable but don’t like it at masters with small field

The $20 Milly Maker pool has 229+K entries but I agree with likelihood of duplicates entries and winners being split. Any lineup at 50K or 49,900 has a good chance at being duplicated as most GPP’s have 75+% at those 2 intervals (usually 50% at 50K and another 25+% at 49,900).

  • AB99

An interesting conundrum. You want to differentiate and one way to do that is to leave money on the table, but at what expense? That extra couple hundred could be the difference in fitting in one of the Big Four and the potential winner. Eagles and SGP are gonna be huge. (Although Zach won the masters by laying up on every par 5)

He’ll still get 10-15% ownership despite 7700 salary. Enough fishies will bite.

Haha, please don’t say that. Anybody who picks him should receive an immediate lifetime ban from DK and DFS in general.

Tiger is probably going to be announced as Out; then that brings up the real question.

Will Tiger (Out) have more ownership than Bowditch, Weir, Lyle or Immelman ?

Just took a look at the salaries and couldn’t even get close on making a lineup. I hope the next two weeks brings in some chalky low cap players!

what do you mean you couldn’t even get close to making a lineup, I’ve made 3 beauties under salary

  • Cbed11

I have been able to build some fairly balanced lineups, but nothing I like with multiple studs. After Casey at 7700 I don’t like much of anything

  • walkoff9

Duplication will be insane. There is a very good chance nobody wins close to a million dollar’s on dk.

  • Cbed11

Would not be surprised if 1st is shared at all, unless Bowditch is in the lineup. Wasn’t The Open won by two guys last year?

  • ThatGuy31

Seems like every time a milly maker comes up people start talking about split at the top. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there’s ever been a split on the top prize. Any reason to think differently with this round of the masters?

  • Cbed11

I looked it up, and first place for The Open was split. However, the two guys did not have identical lineups

Duplication is common. Duplication at the top of the leaderboard is not.
