The Memorial Tournament – June 2-5, 2016 – Muirfield Village GC – Dublin, Ohio

I think I remember more about Tiger’s 85 in the 3rd round last year than I do Lingmerth beating Rose in a playoff

2015 – Winner David Lingmerth -15 in 3-hole playoff over Justin Rose
2015 Cut – a score of -1 was needed to make the cut, 71 players made the cut last year

Only 120 in the field this week with the usual 70 & ties making the cut so a higher percentage of field makes the cut.

Last year quite a few of the regular cut makers on tour like Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Danny Lee, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, Daniel Berger, Colt Knost, Daniel Summerhays and Charl Schwartzel all missed the cut.

Muirfield Village is known as a ball strikers golf course and this tournament has a bit of mini major feel to it much like the Players Champions and the L.A. Open (Riviera) where a win here is more respected than a normal non-major.

Besides hosting this event since its inception in 1976, Muirfield Village has also recently hosted the 2013 Presidents Cup.

Yeah you can see the full list on that sheet i linked.

yeah on the phone is a disadvantage. which tourney do you want info on steele for and i’ll post it here

  • TeamTwerk

I’m sure the 6/6 and 5/6 with Steele in the birdie has to be very low but then again it doesn’t really matter because it’s the weekend and Steele will do what he does and finish T22.

Brenden Steele info. Almost exactly 1% of all teams are 6/6 with steele.

the 22.5% just means that 22.5% of the total teams that have steele are 6/6. its shows where the majority of ownership on a player falls.

Much appreciated. I guess if the stars align perfectly I could have a pretty high finish.

I just made that in the last hour.

Awesome info – saves me scrolling, clicking and downloading stuff
Just wish I had a contending lineup so I could pour over who has who and how many instead I’ll just pour myself another drink.

I took a look at scores and saw Haas at -3 with just a couple holes left; 6 hours later I found out he missed the cut – what an ass

I’m on the road most of Saturday so will be listening on the Radio

  • steelcitydozer

How about Glover owning it last round. Mats should have watched him and followed by example

Let’s hope the thunderstorms stay away today. So tired of the delays.

So since I found out a website is doing cut ratio percentages, I just couldn’t be outdone. So now I am calculating how many lineups players X percentage is in each category 6/6, 5/6, 4/6 etc.

    Like this:

    Teams 10449 Count: 2060 4029 3012 1090 213 29
    Player Position Count Total 6/6 5/6 4/6 3/6 2/6 1/6
    Hideki Matsuyama CUT 2789 26.7% 0.0% 8.2% 11.3% 5.7% 1.2% 0.2%
    Dustin Johnson 5 2655 25.4% 6.5% 10.5% 6.3% 1.7% 0.3% 0.0%
    Kevin Chappell 53 2639 25.3% 6.8% 10.7% 6.2% 1.4% 0.1% 0.0%
    Daniel Berger 62 2467 23.6% 6.7% 9.5% 5.7% 1.6% 0.2% 0.0%
    Matt Kuchar 1 2351 22.5% 4.7% 9.1% 6.3% 2.0% 0.4% 0.0%
    Charl Schwartzel 12 2302 22.0% 6.0% 8.9% 5.6% 1.3% 0.2% 0.0%
    Rory McIlroy 12 2165 20.7% 5.4% 8.5% 4.9% 1.6% 0.3% 0.0%
    Bubba Watson 62 2077 19.9% 5.5% 8.3% 4.6% 1.3% 0.2% 0.0%
    Jason Day 12 2029 19.4% 5.3% 7.8% 4.7% 1.3% 0.2% 0.0%
    Rickie Fowler CUT 1741 16.7% 0.0% 5.7% 6.9% 3.3% 0.7% 0.1%
    Russell Knox 62 1381 13.2% 3.5% 5.3% 3.3% 1.0% 0.1% 0.0%
    Jason Dufner 22 1336 12.8% 2.8% 5.3% 3.5% 1.0% 0.2% 0.0%
    Jordan Spieth 22 1295 12.4% 2.8% 5.0% 3.2% 1.1% 0.2% 0.0%
    Jamie Lovemark 53 1232 11.8% 2.9% 5.4% 2.7% 0.7% 0.1% 0.0%
    Paul Casey CUT 1198 11.5% 0.0% 3.6% 4.9% 2.2% 0.6% 0.1%
    Francesco Molinari CUT 1135 10.9% 0.0% 2.7% 4.8% 2.6% 0.7% 0.1%
    Bill Haas CUT 1101 10.5% 0.0% 2.8% 4.6% 2.4% 0.6% 0.1%
    Patrick Reed 32 1098 10.5% 2.5% 4.3% 2.9% 0.6% 0.1% 0.0%
    Justin Thomas CUT 1085 10.4% 0.0% 3.6% 4.0% 2.1% 0.6% 0.1%
    Charles Howell 62 1072 10.3% 3.0% 4.2% 2.5% 0.5% 0.1% 0.0%

Obviously I’ll have to dress that up quite a bit, but really neat to see how much each player ended up in the categories
What that shows is 8% of total lineups in the contest dogleg, ended up 5/6 with mats.
Even more interesting is to see that only 4.7% of teams are 6/6 with kuch. This could be dual purpose information I think. I will work on getting together something nice to present it maybe for next week.

Is there a way to see what % a 6/6 lineup with Kuch and DJ is?

  • NCRick

Just got one entry in the 40K birdie but its my best start in PGA so far. Need Varner to take first to have a shot though.

    Charles Howell 11.2% T64 (-2)
    Matt Kuchar 23.5% T1 (-12)
    William McGirt 9.3% T22 (-6)
    Rory McIlroy 18.3% T12 (-7)
    Kyle Reifers 7.1% T22 (-6)
    Harold Varner 3.7% T5 (-9)

He was playing decent until the double bogey on 15 yesterday… Ever since he is 8 over par. 8 over par over 8 holes. Nice work Berger.
