There are tons of other golf chat sites. I will not list them all as they are competition. No chance that 20% is even remotely close to all DFS players that have been here or even heard about RG. I would not hazard to guess but percentage wise. Its extremely low. In 1 $3 Birdie there is 176,000 entries. You think 20% of them have even heard of RG? No way.

I’m sure RG’ers (active and passive users plus lurkers) account for 7-10% of entries in the low dollar GPP’s and closer to 15% in the $33+

There are a ton of max/multi entry guys here – just look at the RG staffers alone (stlcards, Noto and others) and they probably make up 4% of entries in the $33/$36 GPP’s then guys like Walkoff and a few others who regularly throws $1K at the Dogleg.

Edit – also when DK Users with RG avatars are winning or Top finishing GPPs, that continues to draw more RG users and lurkers.

Given the invitational status, this tourney is going to play a little more like a WGC event and you’re looking not just for cut makers, but guys who can go top-20. Steele is somewhere between a cut-maker and a guy with upside. I have thought about him too, but probably looking at other options.

    I appreciate it thank you

I do know, there are way more lurkers than talkers…
You see it at the end of every week, the winners….
And how about all those cheaters running multiple entry names, that divides it even more…
47 Participants had 7,050 of the 36,652 entries in the best ball this past weekend… (of these 47, how many were one person)
I do think there are hundreds if not thousands of gamblers that just play one or two teams every week, just to play, like the lotto… waiting for football…

And some of those sites you mention, they dont talk THIS… They talk golf and a little pro… I do know what you mean, it doesnt sound correct…

I have the same thing RG has with my product… or at least Jim’s view… My lights have been out there for 10 years now, but I can ask 100 boaters and they have never heard of it…
I do think RG has a much better foot hold on the DFS than they may think… Google Golf chat, there is nothing compared to this… Try talking pro golf chat in a SAND TRAP and it is Hello Hello Hello…. No one even mentions DFS, let alone bring up Oh NO… here it comes.. .GAMBLING…. shame on you !

Then again, you can go back several years when they had the Run for the roses contest each year, pick winners and in the money each week of the races leading up to the derby… It would only get 20K entries (free contest)
Sure Jim knows how many people have logins… I just think the total over all people are way less than anything like 176K… Maybe 2500 total that play every week and 100K that have played… Curious about he real numbers…

Overall I just think RG is great, and the real players are here, they don’t Congregate anywhere else as a group. Good for RG and it should stick out to FD, and to DK… I have seen there Surveys and sure they help somewhat, and you cant please everyone… My wife corp. does them too, she has to analyze that crap… make changes etc…
For me, 12- 15% of all my sales come from West Marine, so when they talk, I listen….
Then I had a submarine nuclear engineer tell me he needed the SPECS., and measurements for our product… Down to the .005… It is injected molded product… WTH… The mold isn’t even that tight… Needless to say, I could NOT make him happy.

Any thoughts on Ross Fisher? Great form recently, but Euro tour mainly. First time playing Muirfield.

Interesting general little tidbits. Dating back to 2005. Of the guys playing in this years Memorial that have had a top 10 finish (In the Memorial) and played the Memorial the next year, 25% missed the cut.

Now flip that – Those that missed the cut at the Memorial and played the next year…

    MC – 36%
    Finished Top 10 – 10%
    Finished 11 thru 25 – 10%
    Finished 26 and up – 44%

I will probably max LU the PGA QA, debating whether the EURO QA is even worth it for a $50 top prize.

The best weather app you can have is a good radar app. @radarscope is the best of the bunch, but it’s 10 bucks. Plenty of free ones too.

I think there’s a large amount of lurkers out there of these forums. I also sincerely believe some of the tours like Mayo, FGDegens etc read these forums as well. Maybe it’s just coincidence but it feels like they’ll mention something in their pods we on the forum were just talking about.

  • Quadhole

Feel there are 3 or 8 guys, or somewhere inbetween that do NOT want to win this week… My DON’T peak too soon idea…

Did I mention how trash the new MLB arcade mode is? He says after Vince Velasquez goes out with an injury after 4 outs and 2 ER.

Wish i could play him and he is here early preparing for the open… He just does so bad over here, except 2009, almost strange how poor he has played going back many years… Only over here… He may be peeking at the right time for the open… It may also be a little more like a euro tour course… Erin hills that is… Not sure, would like feedback on that ?

All kinds of FREE tournaments up there to for those that were mentioning it last week… Best way is to click entry fee to move cheap to the top.

Good info…supports my reasoning of playing very few players who were top 20 the previous year. On avg 4-6 players repeat there top 20 performance from the previous year. For the Memorial the avg is 6 over the last 5 years. In addition if the player has had consecutive top 20’s I rarely play him as it’s very rare to hit 3 consecutive top 20’s.

I essentially agree with you Jim but the numbers you gave might go against you on this.
This is just shits and grins but if you take 20% of 176000 entries its roughly 34000.
if you take max LU’s of 150 (the old way) that 224 players. I assume most max entry players have heard of RG. whether they use it or not?????

If that number is too high for max entries, well some of the 200 people in our league can help make the difference up.

LMAO mgravity, I read that stuff and poor bigdaddies had nothing to say back then. But I will add, it wasnt so much as what you said it was the first sentence and then it was the first 2 reply’s that measured you out as a redneck. It was aweful funny to read. You did get painted with a wide brush.

been away a few days. disappointed in the new FD. most with finishing points. a guy 2nd at -10 gets the same bonus as 5th at -4? same with 11th v 25th? should be like nascar scoring.
agree with the crazy soft pricing mystery, my only thinking is DK wants to get more people interested in 6/6’s which seems to be a pretty high week for it with so much value 6-8k.

should be an interesting week for dfs golf regardless.

I thought same, but now in first up $4K but 30 people on my tail. One HR and will fall to winning 100. Kind of like NASCAR, very volatile

I feel like there are so many guys who are playable. More than usual. I only play one or two line ups. Driving myself a little crazy because I’ve changed my lineups so many times.
