I love it when every week people choose Ben An simply because his SG T2G stats are good. The fact is he’s always gonna have like a -1 SG Putting which if you add to his SG T2G makes him a worse player than most people in his price range…

  • Kp24

Oh man that Cantlay price is a punch in the gut.
    $10.2k
I really really wanted to make him my anchor but man he makes it hard to fit in other guys I like

When you roster him you just hope for an average putting week and pray he keeps the doubles off his card. Adam Scott as well but Ben An certainly

I ask this every year, but why is The Memorial tournament not played on Memorial Day weekend?

What’s interesting is Adam Scott has an amazing SG putting this year. He still has some short misses but he’s done way better at making 10+ footers.

The thing that’s interesting about An is from a game theory standpoint I noticed people like to weigh SG T2G more than SG putting becsuse the logic is SG putting has more variance. But that’s actually wrong imo if you look at the stats. If you look at An, he’s had like a -0.8 SG putting last 3 years and it’s been consistently in the bottom 10th percentile (bottom 5 percentile if you include players you would consider choosing on DK) and EVERY single tournament he has a negative SG putting. In fact the 2018 Memorial might be his last tournament with a positive SG putting lol and that’s probably due to luck than the expected norm.

Does anyone mind posting the top 30 salaries or so? I can’t look at it now. I guess I can also just wait a few hours. I’m interested to see where Finau is priced.

  • Kp24

Yeah @NoLimits0 I mean he is consistently bad at putting. No two ways about it. But a bad putter at least can close his eyes and hope one drops. Wesley Bryan can never get tee to green like An. So I guess I personally continue to play Ben An, is the kid is gonna his time in the sun when a few putts drop. But he at least always puts himself on the greens. I can live with a few missed 5 footers because he’s hitting the green from 200 yards almost every damn time

He is $9600 and 7th highest priced

We’ve had this discussion before, but I prefer the smaller field events. The cut introduces some randomness, so smaller %MC means more predictable. At the same time, I think cut sweats add a lot of excitement.

I don’t want predictability and chalk hitting – I definitely don’t want 20% 6/6 rates for the field.

I have zero edge when every big name or chalk play makes the cut – I do feel like I have an edge in events like this past week where shit happened and we have 3-4% of lineups with 6/6. It’s those weeks where the extra work pays off coming up with less than 10% owned plays like Putnam, Sabbs, Furyk, Na, Hughes, etc… as you needed 2-3 of them for a big cash. In other chalkier weeks, you just need one of those guys and that gives the MME guys an edge where they just play a core of 4-5 guys across 20+ lineups and happen to get lucky falling on the diamond in the rough (as they had 20 of those punts to get lucky with). It’s also nice to get a 2-3x payout on a 5/6 like this past weekend where usually those 5/6’s are min cash at best.

I’m only on the phone man so can’t copy and paste but it’s Rory then Tiger up top, Cantlay is $10.2, Xander and Bryson in the 9k

Pricing is pretty straight forward, no real surprises other than I really don’t wanna back Cantlay at that price

  • Kp24

Oh yeah and JT is 9.3k right under Kuchar!
If he’s actually healthy, you get arguably the best player in the field at a massive discount

Does anyone know who will WD this week? I’m sick of being eliminated before Day 1!

Last week was a bonus for me – Casey didn’t WD until Friday morning and did shoot -1 69 the first day so he actually had double-digit points which was a windfall compared to what Leishman did to me and what Louie did to me.

Yep. A 0 on DK makes it impossible to cash unfortunately. I’m used to NHL where you can win a GPP with a 0!

Our favorite sad panda is back at min salary this week. Last year we all tried playing him a few times and he burned us every time, will it happen again if we take a chance?

Tim I’ll finally dive in and take the Canadian next week if we have no volunteers. I’ll try to set aside about $20 worth of contests. Mostly $1s but will put a few others. Might do more than $20 but will leave it there for now.

Only 3000 spots this week since Pat Mayo is on vacation for the week so it will probably fill early this week.

I made 4 quick lineups and he’s in 3. Just making the cut would be nice!

Looking at my picks from last night and adding the pricing, I am good for a few LU’s and could make some variations to get max entries.

The trouble is, looking at what I got, a 4 player core leaves 17700. I cant help but think its Chalk City. It started out to be a balance LU but I can even fit in a Tiger/Rory if I go basement shopping for the last spot 6000-6400. I predict a lot of dups this week. Kuchar around 40%
