GJ BIF! I had a week where I got my pool correct but got ripped up by the carnage over the weekend. Faded hard over the weekend.

    Mayo: 6th, 184, 1441
Milly: 56th and two other cashes/3 entries
    Birdie: Cashed 18/20 lineups

I made the decision to fade Norlander even though I felt he was a good course fit. If I would have included him in my core it probably would have been a huge week. Onto the 3M, I really like my process now. I believe I had a pool of 21 players this week. Will try and get to around that number again for the 3M.

Nice work – Fitz was a nice difference maker for you and had a big Sunday. Reed was doing that for me until the four holes.

I got that as well – had just logged in to check the FD scoring for the question on the forum and there was a pop up saying they put $10 in.

Guess you have to throw a dart on FD now.

Now this was the crazy part – I spent $43.75 entering the $0.25 entry Milly Satty’s and won 51 tickets !!

    That’s actually insane, congrats man!

I hear a whole lot of whining about a tough course. Jack couldnt ruin anything. I would say that I can pull some usefull analysis off the last 2 weeks. using the data to tell me some things about golfers. Like who can putt in extreme stint. Also Where some of the golfers CAN NOT play well with wind/adjustments. Or how bout those euro guys in windy conditions. As a group what do ya think?

You mean Matthew Fitzpatrick? I remember telling monarch he was a grinder and good in these conditions and of course I had like only a few lineups with him today in Showdown since I went too heavy Finau and Palmer as my number 2 and 3 guys.

  • Awon1

Oh look Tommy Fleetwood is playing next week.

I bet he regrets not being here this week. He would have been great in these conditions this week.

I’m not even sure when’s the last time he played competitively but I imagine he might be the highest priced player next week because DJ and Brooks both don’t seem to care.

I’ve won 30+ tickets a few times between $0.25, $1 and former $3 satty’s and won over 50 in NFL once but this was easily the most I ever won on the $0.25 entry ones.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to be trending lightly. Especially, if he’s high priced and high owned. Fleetwood doesn’t like to win in the States.

Here comes 3M, where Lucas Glover is probably be 9K+

They will price DJ, Koepka, Finau and Fleetwood well over 10k and then Casey, Glover, Redman 9k and then EVR upper 8k. DK will make it difficult to get three of those guys in a lineup especially with Conners, Taylor and Hubbard already WD.

$43 into $1,000 worth of lotto tickets is a damn good deal. Bring home the big one for the forum :)

Easily. He checks out #1 in the preliminary mixed model I just constructed for the 3M. One of the conditions is fear of having to fly home after a MC where he leads the field.

Paul Casey? Sign me up this week again lol.

I better not wake up and see an 8 again. I had penciled him in as a guaranteed cut Thursday night so to my surprise I needed to control F to find him on the leaderboards Friday morning since I didn’t understand where he was…

The saddest thing is had he made the cut, he might gotten top 20 here, like Xander.

Matt Wolff should also be priced like 9k ish imo.

Finished 42nd in the $3 birdie and 34th in the $5 DTG. Question-what are the tax laws for winnings?

    Nice job.

You don’t have to pay now. If you are up overall by the end of the year, you get a 1099 next year. Then you report the income based on what the 1099 says and it’ll get added to your W2 income and be taxed at that tax rate.

So for example if you lose all your winnings by end of the year and your net winnings is 0, you don’t have to pay on these winnings since it gets netted out later. If you keep winning more and more, then you report a bigger number next year.

There’s some estimated tax you can make, but it won’t be necessary for you.

Also Bif will point out you don’t get taxed in Canada so I’ll beat him to it.

  • Awon1

I’m actually curious to know why Canada doesn’t tax you for fantasy sports.

Don’t they need the extra money to then give out in their universal health care plan? They might not realize how big fantasy sports/sports gambling might become. The DK stock has been doing well overall since the IPO.

  • Awon1

So I just read Tommy Fleetwood has been in “quarantine” for the last 14 days (as per US protocol), but then his wife/manager said he’s been playing at Shinnecock Hills for practice every day.

Uhh no wonder the US can’t control this outbreak correctly…that’s actually funny that you are allowed to play golf every day when there’s a mandatory quarantine.

Tomorrow will be a bloodbath. Ive seen those pins locations. Bogey will be a good score on 16. By the time most of these guys reach 17 and 18 they will be ready to leave Dublin in the 104 degree heat. Rahm is a good pick for his built in positional points. Even if he shoots 73 or 74 he could have one of the best rounds of the day.

    Good call there

Can anyone beat +25 today for their Happy Meal lineup?

5/6 on yahoo, FanDuel, and DraftKings and didn’t win a cent.

Glad that Sunday afternoon car crash is over; I still had a great week winning over $5K but at 2 different times today it was over $20K then Finau and Cantlay happened mixed with a side of Pat Reed 4-over on 15-17 collapse 😡

Finished 15th in the Mayo (Congrats on 6th to Monarch !!)
20th in the $33 Single Entry
    Cashed in the $555 (218th / 2002)
Cashed 7/10 in Milly (552nd was best)
Cashed 12/20 in $3 (125th was best – had 3 in Top 60 before the wreckage)
Cashed 9/17 in the $5 DTG (was Top 20 till the carnage)

….and a 2nd in the highly coveted Happy Meal 🎉

Now this was the crazy part – I spent $43.75 entering the $0.25 entry Milly Satty’s and won 51 tickets !! Most of them were the 5-max but also entered the 20-max. In 6 of the 190 ppl 5-max ones that pay out 2 tickets, I finished 1st and 2nd with diff lineups.

I love it when all of your core plays finish well !

    Nice work bro. Solid week!

Nice work man. Won a shit ton of tickets at the Houston open when it was the week before the Masters. Don’t be a bozo like me and go 75% on a few players like I did!

Ha ha thanks – I never pay cash to enter the Milly and just use the tickets I win but I can’t see myself playing any more than half of them in this birdie fest. I don’t want to burn them all this week as I’d like to build up a few for the PGA at Harding Park in a few weeks.

Also it’s not my favorite tournament (being a birdie-fest/putting contest) or course (I’ve played golf there before and it was only ok). I fully expect the first page of the leaderboard to be 40-50% scrubs who had a “good putting week”.
