Someone give me some hope for tomorrow. I have 3 golfers at +4 and 1 at +6. 3 of them tee off in the morning tomorrow. Any good stories of bad round one scores all turning around day 2?

tell you about last week. I was rolling day 1 and day 2 was the polar opposite. It was on the same course. The same can happen again. This second event at the same course is scoring lower than last week.

rd1 leader same amount of points.
last week 30golfers 20+ pts this week 15 golfers.
medium score last week 15 this week 12

DFS leaderboard is much tighter at the bubble.

so if your golfers improve to the cut line which isnt to distant. You still in it
edit fyi all points mentioned above are without bonus finishing points.

not sure how u golf guys do big money tournaments-top guys shit the bed way too often-I would be so jaded if my $1500 was done before lunch on day one

I’m just catching up on the last 20 pages as I played golf this afternoon/evening.

My answer to this is that it is not much different than picking a stud RB from a team that falls behind 21-0 in the first quarter and instead of getting the 30 touches you paid for, you will get 13-15 and while that is going on the other RB you considered but didn’t play just scored his 2nd TD. That $1500 entry is equally toast – the only difference is that you still have to look at your losing golf lineup for 3 more days 🙄 In NFL, your entry is only live for 7 hours instead of 4 days.

its my understanding that higher dollar tournaments are easier to cash in?

Not true, cash lines are usually higher – also many high dollar entry GPPs only pay the top 17-20% versus the 22-24% in low dollar stuff.

    My guess is +1.

The cut is already +2 and moving in the wrong direction, I’ll give you my entire years salary if the cut goes to +1. I’m saying it’s gonna be +4

I thought cash lines were always lower in high dollar stakes, I always see people saying to play higher buy ins cause it was easier to cash and lots of the people that play those make dumb picks.

Anytime I’ve played a lineup in a $3 entry and then the same lineup in a $9 entry or something higher the scores are always higher in the lower dollar entry tournaments

Bold strategy there. Tomorrow should have been much easier. Then they released pin positions.

I think it’s more about the number of entrants than it is the buy-in amount.

The discussion last week was that it’s easier to win and/or cash big in a smaller field tournament like the 200 SE than it is in the Milly because you don’t have to be perfect

Cool. I’m technically in 61st place even though it says I’m in 13,176th place. It’s just the goofy way they have the places numbered on DraftKings to match the prize amount . I’m still 82 points away from 1st. I don’t think I can make that kind of gap up unless someone WD’s or has an absolutely horrible day on the course. My guys have to start climbing the ladder to get bonuses for being in a higher place. What’s scaring me is the weather and how badly I’m fearing they’re going to play tomorrow. It wasn’t intentional that I did this, but I have all morning people going tomorrow and USUALLY they do well, but from the looks of how this tournament is going that still didn’t help anyone. The morning people were horrible today. I’ve never seen someone recover on DK or FD with that kind of deficit. They’ll win something or barely win something and that’s it. Is it possible to recover from an 80 point deficit in golf on DK?

Just looking at the guys from the +1 to +3 you’re like holy shit that’s some high ownership….

Then you look at all the guys from +4 to DFL, and you’re like holy fck that’s some high ownership….

What we looking at here boys? 5/6’s still in consideration for some nice coin?

  • miggs6876

Lol. You are so right. I had seeing my crap line up for 3 days. Almost wish I could delete it.

You are probably right. I’m just thinking lots of guys will play better with the previous round experience. Also, thinking the weather is going to be more favorable. I won’t be surprised at a +1 cut. Believe me, I want to be wrong since I have Xman in 6 of my 11 line ups.

Correct – The Winning score or score needed to Top 5-10 is obviously lower with less entries but it is not easier to cash on a high dollar entry.

Things can change quickly but right now the answer is a big NO.

Current 6/6 rates are 7-10% across all contests and the 5/6 rate is 25-30% so many 5/6’s wouldn’t even cash if this was the end of the tourney.

With most GPPs paying roughly the Top 22% and there currently being 32-40% of entries with 5/6 or 6/6 – you can see that the 5/6 crowd needs more carnage tomorrow to bring those %’s down.

I’m so conditioned to ‘negative tilt’ where all my lineups are hanging on by a thread late Thursday and all toast by early Friday…

Why do none of ya’ll ever mention ‘positive tilt’ where you FINALLY have that promising 6/6 going into Friday, but so tilted by past experiences and the inevitable collapse (Murphy’s law), that you don’t even want Friday’s round to start…

Maybe it’s just me having never experienced a good Thursday (perennial 4/6er), but what a wicked fcking game we all play, stress is worse than normal gambling!! haha

I may have missed some early posts, but what exactly are you talking about here? A 4 day contest and you’re worried about how to make ground on 1st place after day 1? Everything is going to change quickly so many times. Just hang in there and see where you are Saturday night.

Good Friday Morning & YAY GOLF!

Good Overlay in the cheap contests this morning

Looking at my winnings after day 1 I was very depressed, but then looking at my lineups I see lots of possibilities of 6/6 if a handful of golfers just play marginally better today. On the flip side, this could go south for me very quickly. How the hell am I going to get any work done today??

Biggest disappointment of the day was Webb Simpson +4, if he can’t get it together today my chances go way down. X-Man & Hadwin get honorable mentions here for obvious reasons.

Biggest surprise of the day was Chez Reavie -1 (3 bird, 2 bog), had been staying away from Reavie for a while (used to play him a lot), but recent form was good and CH, so threw him in some entries. Honorable mention to , well, nobody the rest of my bottom guys did terrible. My Man Bud Cauley needs to get it together, not giving up on him yet, but please make a cut my man.

Cut line is almost locked in at +1 in my opinion, just can’t see +2 creeping in, remember these guys are professional golfers LOL

Took a shot at the $33 SD contest today
    R. McIlroy
    Tiger Woods
    G. Woodland
    P. Mickelson
    L. Glover
    Jim Furyk

a leader board made for 2014 heh

Good Luck today Y’all, we will need it!
