I went 40 LU’s in the Mini-Max last week with 4 6/6 and 30 5/6 and ended up cashing five for $5.50 on $20 entered ugh

Going back to 20max maxing the Short Game and Quarter Arcade/Jukebox this week

I dont enjoy following the tournament as much when I have many over 20 line ups. If I have a lot more line ups I find that I do not know who to be excited for until Sunday afternoon and by then I usually find I have little to be excited about. I enjoy it much more when I can celebrate early successes on Thursday and Friday, even if (or when) they crap out late Sunday.
I liked Brianvt’s analogy of just taking it in as a simple glass of wine to enjoy lightly. I do not take it or myself very seriously and I do not risk much at all anymore. Not that I ever bet heavy. I only gamble for light entertainment added value. I dont really care about how much I win. The most fun I have is against Jamcclea who I have been h2h every week religiously for 3 years, and of course the happy meal.

last week Unico told me about the millies

“Actually the $100 milly pay structure wasn’t much better. Obviously is attractive to have a smaller field to compete against
The $4444 is the best… I was fortunate to win the ticket on a $75 sattie”

the $100 qualifiers for $9 and you need to be 1/13 (doable to win some)
the $4444 qualifier has an $11 and you need to be 1/475 (need a darn good week)
as well as the $75 1/67.

cant afford 10 weeks at $75 (dont know how many are left guessing, figure multi entry to make it so)
could take a shot at $11 for 10 weeks

lol, i dont know why i go for tickets. the best ive ever done is make $100 in golf. 90% are $0. I suck at the big events.

Yeah Tim I like tiers but I do feel like it’s easy to think you have “figured it out”. Last week I was cruising along winning a couple tickets and Sunday killed me. Finau and Spieth.

I’ll give it more of a go this week again. Haven’t studied up on this course or field yet.

All this Tiers talk makes me want to check it out. Looking forward to seeing how the contests are especially for the 50 cent and $1 entry fees.

That was nice of you and I did not really follow along what happened, but in the many years you been on here I have never seen you even once be disrespectful to anyone. Text alone has such an easy way to get misinterpreted.

    Quoted:

A PDF was sent to players and caddies earlier this week outlining the changes to Muirfield Village Golf Club over the last 10 months. The renovation to the Nicklaus masterpiece was done to make the course more playable for the members. This story was first reported by Geoff Shackleford.

Founder Jack Nicklaus has described the course renovation as a desire to “make the golf course better, not necessarily harder”. Recent visits by the PGA TOUR’s Agronomy and Rules staff, confirm the changes are both dramatic to the eye, while substantially improving the playability of the golf course.

The summary below highlights the renovation details:

    • Construction started July 20, with the last green sodded October 1.
    • All greens were reconstructed with new bentgrass, irrigation and Precision Air systems.
    • Most holes had the green complexes 100% recontoured and rebuilt with significant bunker modifications. Only greens on holes 12, 13, 14 and 17 resemble the old greens.
    • All tees were resurfaced. New professional tees were added on holes 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7, in addition to those already added on holes 8, 11, and 15 prior to the 2020 tournaments.

In total approximately 100 yards in length has been added to the course since July. (This could make the course play as long as ~7,500 yards

    • All fairway & greenside bunkers were rebuilt. On holes 1, 15, & 17 the fairway bunker
    complexes were strategically repositioned.
    • All fairways were resurfaced, and additional drainage was installed on multiple fairways.
    • All green surrounds were resurfaced.
    • Hole #15 was rebuilt in entirety from tee to green with new fairway bunkers and
extensive grade changes to the second and third shot landing zones.

    Thanks for the update.

    KSDT is free this week.

He’s horrible scrambling and putting but he’s 45th SG: T2G on Tour this year and has made 5 of his last 6 cuts with three being a top 25 with a T8 last week.

He was 7100 last week in a somewhat weaker field. You could do worse.

I max enter the Tiers dime and quarter gpps every week. A core cascade has worked very well on the weeks I pick right. Last year in one of the dime ones my cascade took the top spot and 13 of the other top 20 spots as well. I like them because I’m a low roller and the contests are usually only about 3000-8000 entrants. Much easier to win a contest that size. Here are the links to last weeks low dollar contests so that any interested parties can see the size and payout structure.

I was in that one with my single bullet. Got MC’s from Fatrick, Kevin Na and Russell Knox. At least we don’t have to ponder the Na this week.

Careful with course history this week as they have totally redone these greens and this course for that matter.

    More detail

Edit nevermind, got caught up. Looks like nothing major. Still think -15 will win. Lots of rain coming in tomorrow night.

You nailed Whaley last week. First guy I saw who I thought was vastly under priced was Kizzire @7300 even though I rarely play him. He doesn’t historically play well here, but he’s never been in this form either.

He made my pool of players. He’s played well lately, has good course history, has good par 4 efficiency from 450-500 yds, good bogey avoidance, and solid proximity from 175-200 yds. Price is too good to pass at 6100.

How concerned are you he might become chalky? I’ve read 2 free articles and both have KSDT as their pick in the $6900 and under range.

I mean if he was 7800 and chalky I would care. You can fade medium and high priced chalk pretty easily and make it back. Fading cheap chalk can be disastrous.

Also “chalk” is relative in different price points. Whaley was “chalk” last week and only 11% owned. But Chris Kirk was 26% owned and I don’t think anyone railed against him as a poor play. He ended up almost dead last.

So if he is “chalk” but going to be around 10-12% I am fine going 20-25% and diversifying elsewhere.

Kizzire is going to be in my 30-40% pool. He’s playing so well. If you start you cash lineup with KSDT and Kizzire you’ll be rostering two of the highest SG: APP guys in the field and you have $9150 left per player. Seems like a strong proposition to me.

I felt real good about my player pool, until a few minutes ago. I always check out Awesemos free articles. Top 5 fades were Bradley,Stanley,Streelman, Schaffele and Oosty. All are in my pool. Top 5 sleepers Gooch, Norlander,Scott,Fowler, Rahm. I have minimal exposure. Confused!

nice of you to share picks with the forum….especially good picks. Congrats on being right.
I did like the whale last week, KSDT looks like he could see similiar results. I wont follow you this week, I have my doubts. but I did have a core that left 6300 for the last spot. so with Hao-Tong, and Knox, using some KSDT.

  • Lamms30

Probably better depending upon who you like..I have some Bradley, Gooch, Stanley (too cheap) but only in a few…., and Oosty. Will he drive ownership down? Wouldn’t be a bad thing…

I also like RCB at 6200. Stats don’t paint a very pretty picture for the season. But he’s made 3/5 cuts and if he didn’t shoot a 3rd round 78 at Valspar would’ve had a very nice finish there.

At 6200 you could do worse.
