Webb Simpson’s birthday is tomorrow, if that means anything for round 1 showdown.

Colin Morikawa sounds confident. Touts are saying he is overpriced and has only beat up on weaker fields, but this dudes stats are unreal so far regardless of strength of field.

My brain is no longer in “Mint” condition….
I double entried 15 lineups…how do I cancel one each?
Can’t seem to navigate to that

    Help

EDIT: think i found it “withdraw entry”

just curious to see if anyone has stats on whether the front 9 or the back 9 will play harder?

    From a site I use:

    Riviera (Genesis Open)
    Copperhead (Valspar)
    Harbour Town GL (RBC Heritage)
    Pebble Beach (U.S. Open)

    I’d change sites…..immediately

In my opinion those are terrible correlations

Anyone has thoughts on the guys under $7k that are interesting? I’m trying a stars/scrubs type in a few 3 max, SE, seeing the build might lean to a balanced approach

I am going Killer Keith in that range this week.

Conners is the most popular one though

Any Bubba takers this week? Dude can win anywhere with his streaky game and since it’s the playoffs I think he goes on a run.

I actually have him in my single entry right now with CH3. Keep going back and forth between Bubba and Putnam. Will probably take a shot and go bubba

To expand – I look at Liberty National and think this course could host a major (US Open probably); grow rough a little more, tighten up a couple fairways and we have a course that rivals Bethpage and

The courses I’ve seen listed as corollary have different grass/greentypes, played in different seasons and in a different part of the country.

Haven’t made any decisions on my FGWC lineup yet – three in a placeholder on Monday night that had RCB (since WD’d) and Piercy (drawn with Tiger); it also had Reed who I think I’m gonna fade now too as I think he’ll be popular in the 200 entry FGWC plus I’m trying to lineup guys with more US Open/PGA Champ success.

to my point earlier with reed – i feel like he will be much higher owned in the higher buy – in smaller field type events – BIF do you think ownership aside reed is a good fit for this course?

Theyre playing in Jersey this year?

Which exit is this course ?

14C off the Turnpike Ext. / 78. I live just down the road in Hoboken and was there for multiple days of the President’s Cup in 2017. Looking forward to this week.

What is the deal with drawing Tiger? Is it just unanimous across the board players splits drop off way worse when playing rounds with tiger?

Since I don’t have shottracker for the course my correlations aren’t as accurate, but I have (I left the course in there and so things above it are close but harder, and things below it are close but easier – but they are all so close in these comparisons that saying easier/harder is sort of silly here – and they are in order of hardest to easiest in Round order – not saying that actual round on any given day would be – just what it was in 2013):
    Round 3:
    Bay Hill Club & Lodge
    Riviera CC
    Liberty National GC
    Silverado Resort
    TPC Sawgrass
    Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

    Round 4:
    TPC River Highlands
    Sea Island Resort (Seaside)
    Congressional CC (Blue)
    Liberty National GC
    Pinehurst No. 2
    TPC Southwind
    Colonial CC

    Round 2:
    Monterey Peninsula CC
    Cherry Hills CC
    Liberty National GC
    East Lake GC
    TPC Boston

    Round 1:
    The Old White TPC
    Magnolia GC
    Liberty National GC
    GC of Houston
    Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

    (grabbed uneven amounts, oh well)

If I had real shot tracker data for it, could get more accurate in comparison.

These are in no way saying “this course has this type of grass, is hilly, is in the autumn, and the wind comes from the same direction”.
These are saying “players had similar difficulty scoring here, in similar ways” (and again, it has to look at the big picture rather than full shot tracker data).

You know I am still jealous about you guys in the FGWC.
I am getting a small thrill about your week. I feel empathy about how the week has gone, the hope, self expectations.

LMAO Felixxburg, of course I am rooting for you to do well. It seems we have some of the same players.
One thing I found hilarious – Fade: Everyone who is not in the FGWC (Sorry but please let us win this week. We’ll let you win the other ones!). Now BIF is a stand up guy, will root for most everyone he knows in a position to win, as long as he is outside the picture. but to let someone else win ….I think is against his DNA. Maybe I am wrong but BIF is a competitor. As I suspect all of you are.

Wigg_ESEA, that is a generous offer. We all appreciate the thought of sharing in your good fortune.

I am actually getting a little amp’d about this week. Mostly because a bunch of the star players have made comments on players and I absolutely didnt like many of them. My PIG will be loaded with many people favorites. I dont need to win this week, I have 75 LU’s in the minimax, currently 425 entries in dime contests and $1 Happy meal. I cannot win a bunch of money. I still can do an easy 2× 3x or with the right entry a buttload of tickets. So much much better luck to you guys in FGWC

LOL, well it was really just one person’s opinion from a site, and I didn’t use any correlation data anyhow, so not really affecting my process. I could expound on why he chose those courses (which he did), but then I’d be pretty much copying word for word from a paid site. In a nutshell, he was looking at shorter courses, usually par 71, less-than-driver, and tight fairways. Not looking at the grass type.

I think Reed is a good fit – I wish there were more driver holes for him as he is pretty accurate with it – I’m just not 100% sure he has everything fixed yet – started working with new swing coach just about 6 weeks ago and since I’m making one lineup, I need some trust

3-4% would be nice! I haven’t looked at weather yet. I’m waiting for Kevin’s Roth “article”, which doesn’t seem to be out yet.

That 78 to MDF last week not scaring you off? That’s a rough last round to have on your mind going into the playoffs

I am done and doesnt matter but tell me if I did OK with a course correlation.

    PGA Champ – Bethpage
    Honda – PGA National
    API – Bay Hill

    to a lesser extent
    Schwabb – Colonial

Tiger wincing after taking some shots and stopping today really kills my vibe. I haven’t faded him since his return…but I know I should. I guess I’ll either fade the slate or play him….The thought of rooting against Tiger ever is something I’d rather not play DFS than do.

7400 yards Par 71 at sea-level is not short and with the number of holes that guys will hit less than driver, this is like a 7550-7600 yard (driver) course.

  • BrianVT

Also, golf is golf, so correlations can be made for every golf course. As Broogsy says: put the ball in the fairway and then put the ball on the green – what is there to fuss about?

Ok, you win, BIF. I’m not trying to backup someone else’s opinion, but I do see some people correlating some of those same courses, so take it or leave it. I was done picking my core and lineups yesterday and didn’t pay any attention to any course correlations.

I just don’t think any regular tour event courses line up with Liberty National but Hazeltine is an interesting one that I can see a lot of similarities with and it’s funny as I’m going to be playing there next week.

  • Felixxberg

@kbarnhill7523: My lineup right now has 6 guys I think can win (I went Matsuyama-Finau over Cantlay-Niemann for the moment). I don’t know if Matsuyama can really win, but he sure has a better shot than Niemann. I decided to follow my rule #1 in every major (playing it as a major): play Finau and build the rest from there. He’s not the best in important stats, but he has always been a DFS scoring machine.

@wigg_ESEA: I’ll do the same then! I did it in the NHL forum last season and people really enjoyed the idea (it comes from Dunzor originally).

@Pbasniper: It depends. This week, I really want to have the winner in my lineup, because it’s the FGWC. I’m going with 6 guys I think can win. I’m not always aiming for that, but this week, I want to give myself the best odds of having the winner. Having a 6/6 could be easier than usual, but having the winner is always hard.

@timusbr: I’m rooting for you (and other forumers) too, but I know that the Happy Meal is usually pretty much the same as other GPPs, so if I do bad there, I’ll do bad in the FGWC too. I’m not playing the smaller fees contests, so you (and other forumers) can win those and I’ll be happy for you as long as no one has the same lineup in the FGWC! Did you really say 425?? That’s a whole lot!

“I was getting stiff and it’s best to be smart about it, just kind of what I did pre-Augusta when I went out there and just chipped and putted for nine holes,” Woods, who underwent spinal fusion surgery in April 2017, told a pre-tournament press conference.

“As I said to you guys all year, this is kind of how it is. Some days I’m stiffer than others. Yesterday (Tuesday) I was out there hitting it great with Brooksy (Brooks Koepka) and DJ (Dustin Johnson) and today I’m stiff. Hopefully I’m not that way tomorrow.”

Fair enough – wasn’t trying to start something; I don’t really see any courses that get played every year that look like this or play like this – it kind of reminds me of longer version of old Westchester CC that was a regular tour stop for many years but stopped about 10 years ago and probably mores I of a longer version of TPC Potomac at Avenel that they used for the old Quicken Loans (National) tour event more recently.
