this is just a team list and points won not who played who. BUT if the US didnt win this it would be noteworthy. I am not sure it carries any relevance.

I’m not sure how useful it will be apart from showing us how far some guys have fallen since 2017 (Berger/Chappell/Lahiri/Schwartzel), but it is a nice to have for anyone you’re considering if they have at least played the course before. So while I wouldn’t worry too much about their results in that event, it is nice to have the list of those that have played competitively at the course

pgatour.com has Alex Noren & Robert Streb in the field and does not include Andrew Landry & Patton Kizzie who were given salaries. Anyone know what’s going on with this?

Noren and Streb both got out of the top 125 after last week and Kizzire and Landry took their spots. The pgatour page you used is probably dated from last week.

Good luck to the big 4 this week playing in the FGWC.

ICYMI, an interesting article regarding Liberty National.

“Woodland likes his chances at Liberty National, because he plays and practices there frequently when he visits New York. He also feels the course is similar to Pebble Beach in that he’ll have to throttle back off the tee because there are several short and/or tight par fours.”

Adam Scott feels “the course fits his eye because it reminds him of some of the resort-style layouts he played in Australia growing up. He also acknowledges it’s important to get the ball in play off the tee, he views Liberty National as a second-shot golf course.”

He followed that up by saying “TBH none of that really matters when you putt like I do, LOL

This might be a good time to point out that I made some terrible guesses as to who might do well last week based on FedEx points needed to make the cut. Kaymer, Noren have cost me the last two weeks, but Barracuda Brice also killed me in Round 4 Showdown, betting that JT Poston would at least get a single bogey… it’s been rough.

Echoing everyone else on here. Best of luck to everyone in the world championships!

Well Garnett, didnt kill me but 1 more birdie to get -1 more stroke would have put him in the top 5 where I could have easily made my T5 players achievement for 9K crowns. Only the 5th of the month and I have 10K crowns in August. I am on the cusp of another 16K. Looks like Diamond Level for start of NFL season.

My missions are for shit at platinum level. $3 for 100 crowns or $5 for 125 crowns. The missions I had in gold level were more crowns for same money. I even got bigger missions.

I’m pretty sure the missions are not linked to the rewards tier but rather to the types of contests you’ve been entering recently. So if you entered a lot of $0.10/$0.25 or other low dollar contests to try to get those achievements the last couple weeks, that is likely why you are seeing your missions reduced to lower amounts. Typically as you start to enter some higher $ entries you will see those missions creep up accordingly regardless of the rewards tier you are in

your right Dunzor, I have hammered the dimes recently.

For anyone interested – here is a link to the course layout – seems like a lot of water in play!!

I just read this comment today from Rob Bolton prior to the Wyndham about Noren, which I wish I would have seen before the tournament. Maybe I’ll start following Rob Bolton a little more. He was responding to someone who asked about Lowry only making 12 starts, below the minimum required:

“Lowry started with conditional status, so he’s not subject to the provision. In fact, you could make an argument that the dual-tour internationals are better off not finishing inside the top 125 unless they’re in, say the top 20 or so with a realistic shot at the biggest bucks.

That’s why I’m mildly surprised that Alex Noren is playing the Wyndham. He’s 125th in the FEC, but he’s made 17 starts to fulfill his requirement. Also, because he’s 44th in the OWGR, he’s in position to continue to play in all of the biggest events in 2020 with or without TOUR membership. Meanwhile, if he finished outside the top 125 but inside the top 150 (guaranteed), he’d still be eligible for the 2020 FEC without the requirement to make 15 starts à la Lowry on conditional status this season.”

Its a very minor thing and doesnt add up to too much but I think the DTG this week, DK is trying something new to increase margins for themselves. The last 300 spots to make the cash line get an $8 ticket instead of cash. Most people wont care but for me, I just see DK being DK and separating us from money. I hope this doesnt end up to be a trend.

I looked at that and I’m staying with the $3 Birdie with 20 max v. the 150 max and I’ll put those LU’s in the $2 satty for more tiks

I wouldn’t consider this anti but…..Per the old Future of Fantasy website:

    Top 25 Par 71 Anti-Specialists
(Par 71 Performance vs. Expected Strokes Gained)

    #25 Brooks Koepka (1.639 sg:par71 vs. 2.018 sg:total)

  • titanhawks

I think DK is also throwing some people off calling it a “Champ Series” with the illusion of added money if you play them all

They are technically ‘adding’ this to the prize pool. So the normal prize pool for the DTG this week would be 800k but it’s now 802,400 with the extra tickets and the tickets are going to people who wouldn’t have cashed in the normal pay out structure. They are doing it will all the major events but at the higher levels like the $2120 they are giving away 2 $888 tickets to the 26th and 27th place finisher who would normally be outside the top 25 cash line.

Going single entry this week. Put together 4 guys before salaries came out and the 2 I could afford after fit my mold.

Feeling hopeful this week. GL to all playing in the big one. Rooting for you all.

  • Felixxberg

Thanks to all! Decisions are hard, really hard.

Disappointing that I held onto my $150 ticket for a major but both the US Open and The Open didn’t have a contest I could use my ticket on. So I planned to use it this week as it is my final chance and again no available contests. What happened to the $150 3 entry max tournament they used to run every week?

Since my ticket expires 9/16 I guess it is going to go into week 1 of the NFL since there is a $150 3 max out there for that. I guess I would be ok if I won $100,000 vs. the usual $15,000 that was usually offered when I was checking out the PGA offerings but holding back for a better event.

If DK has not been offering contests that fit your tickets you can also try e-mail support and asking them to convert the ticket into DK dollars so you can use it for normal contests

I just remembered something Shane Lowry said near the end of the EURO Tour last year – that his main goal was to “get into the Top 50 of OWGR” – note NOT to get back onto the PGA Tour, get a card, etc. Maybe he had this loophole on his mind.
