It horseshoed it’s way around the back of the hole and popped out 😔

    Sabbs gonna double 18. Sad

  • Dunzor

Go Rose go! At least his strong finish is balancing out the bad one from Kokrak and the boring one from Xander

    Leishman into the deep shit.

So it looks like I will advance to round 2 of the showdown survivor. Did you other guys make it?

Overall I think I’d have to say I’m cautiously optimistic about my FGWC lineup right now. I’m sitting pretty much middle of the pack but all my guys are still live to make the cut with halfway decent rounds and they have a lot of upward mobility available as well:

    Rose -6 (great finishing stretch)
    Reed -5
    Kokrak -3
Xander -1 (if only he could put 2 good shots together on a single hole)
    Niemann -1
Morikawa E (shout out for clawing his way back from +3)

    Solid lineup. Good luck tomorrow.

Pretty wild that like 18 of top 20 were playing this morning, including first 7 guys on the leader board. Should tighten tomorrow if conditions are equivalent (although course won’t be as wet in the morning).

I did not. Funny thing is my main lineup is 75th/200 while my Showdown is 121st/200. It is the exact same lineup. I guess people went for morning guys in Showdown.

    My lineup is -6, -5, -4, -3, +1, +4.

His ball striking was excellent today so I think he gets the putting figured out tomorrow and gets the easier morning conditions. I think he’ll be on my round 2 survivor showdown

Ya I know I played 4 of the same guys but the swapped two of my more steady golfers for Thursday warriors/guys who tend to come out hot with Rahm & Keegan

Leishman and Woodland still have a shot. Go low in the morning and make the cut on the line, I would take that.

    You and me both.

  • Ryweezycf

    So I finished with 4 guys at -2, a -1, then a +2. Tomorrow will be fun

So looking like a -3 cut more likely -4 considering the cut is basically -2 as it stands now. Woodland and Bubba just need to go -6 tomorrow. Considering only 8 guys shot -6 or better today I’m not to optimistic

    I’m happy with Round 1

Going to sneak through in the Showdown Survivor; probably going to finish 93rs or 94th so it was pretty tight but I’ll be on to Friday’s Showdown.

For the big FGWC, I’m sitting in 100th which is OK as my lineup is currently 6/6 with everyone between -1 and -4.

    Ancer -4
    JT -4
    Louis -3
    Kokrak -3
    Molinari -2
    Xander -1

As a team, my 6 guys lost 7 shots putting with Ancer and Molinari both losing over 3 shots and missing a pile of 4-8 footers. Xander lost over a shot as well. It could have been a great day if they dropped some putts but at least I have 5 of my 6 guys playing in the morning so I only have to sweat one guy in the afternoon (Louis).

Rank after day one for the Forum 5 in the FGWC

Rank out of 200 | Inside the cutline as of right now

    SpudCrowley – 26 | 5/6
    wigg_ESEA – 51 | 6/6
    Dunzor – 72 | 5/6
    Felixxbeg – 77 | 4/6
    BIF – 100 | 6/6

All in the top half….. not bad!

I don’t see any way the cut gets to -4 and maybe not even -3. Right now I’m thinking it stays at -2 (double what it is now).

All the good scores came in the morning today plus there was rain last night keeping things soft – tomorrow probably plays a quarter of a shot or a touch more harder overall and with players swapping AM/PM times scoring will flatten out
