Out of curiosity, what buy in did you win yours at? I’ve always struggled with whether or not to pay up for the qualifiers

    $33

That’s the buy in I’ve won tickets at the last 2 years – it’s usually a Double Qualifier (1st and 2nd win tickets) with 547 entries. I finished 1st both times I won tickets the last two years so didn’t really need the Double Qualifier but it was nice knowing my last guy could bogey 18 and I’d still be guaranteed a ticket 😂. I love this price point and contest size and they also run $2 entry satellites to win the $33 entry ticket. I probably won a dozen $33 tickets over the past 12 weeks and usually played 2 entries in the Double Qualifier each week. I threw the odd bullet or two at the $5 and $12 ones but the $33 contest I never missed entering.

Ancer? He hit the fairways, just needs better approach and he could be in serious contention

Actually I didn’t have Ancer today on the Showdown (just have him in the big 4-day FGWC). I swapped out Kokrak/Ancer off my FGWC lineup and played Spieth/Im on Showdown for the birdie/eagle scoring upside. I didn’t compare scorecards much but I think that swap pulled me through as Spieth went BOFR and Im had 2 eagles and I only snuck through in 93rd of 100 spots that advanced.

But yes, Ancer played a near perfect round besides the -3.1 shots putting – he’s a key part of my FGWC lineup as he is only owned 1.5% (just 3/200 lineups).

That makes sense. I once lost a $555 ticket because Kisner decided to hit a duck hook into the water on 18 when trying to hole out to tie JT at the PGA.

I’ve been playing the same contest. Sounds like I just need to keep plugging away.

Yah you still have to have a great lineup to win but I like the contest size as pros can only enter 16 times (not 150) and you have the backup plan of still winning if you finish 2nd.

I finished 3rd and 4th in different weeks as well which sucked but did pay like $150 or $200 so that helped with future buyins.

I really want to win a seat to the live finals, but I will never win because of my lineup construction (cash minded). I think next year, I’ll just buy all the spots in a $990 qualifier to get in. Good luck next year :)

That being said, unless Wooland or Leishman turn it around, I will lose this week. I won the last 2 weeks (when I didn’t look at the google doc)… just saying.

I think they will bring back the live final next year as this week’s (125 down to 70) event is at TPC Boston and that’s the last place they had a live final at. With DK being based in Boston, it only makes sense.

I’ll spare no expense if that’s the case. I went to the live FD finals for football in 2015 i think when it was a 3 million 1st prize. I wasn’t a contestant, but what better way to spend a weekend. It was a blast! I want to be a contestant at one though.

So basically you’re saying you want guys playing in the morning tomorrow starting on the back 9? Cause if that’s so I have 10 golfers playing tomorrow morning, 7 of which tee off on the back 9 first

Paying up for this qualifier was worth it. The $5 (direct to event) was like a Gpp winner take all.
A lot of people went the $2 to $33 qualifier. IMHO the best way was an $8 to $260 qualifier. Both 78 entries 2 tickets awarded. You didnt need to hhave the gpp winner. A good competing LU could win.

BIF got his on a $33 qualifier. I got mine by using $3 to win a $260 ticket and then got second in the $260 qualifier that paid 2 spots

  • Felixxberg

Mine was a double $260 qualifier too. I finished 1st thanks to Wolff’s eagle and win. I also had Morikawa so he could have won and I would have been fine.

I didnt play many lineups this week so i didnt even look at tee times. When i logged in during the morning i was like “Wtf basically none of my golfers have teed off?” i thought there was a weather delay or something as like half my lineups were completely dormant and a handful of them had like one guy who had played a few holes.

I randomly managed to pick like 80% of my players from Thurs PM Groups. Picked a heck of a week to do that accidently sheesh… afternoon guys did almost nothing….

I’m having one of those weeks where practically NONE of my guys did anything day 1…… bunch of guys like molinari, morikawa, cantlay, xander, etc…

I went almost strictly balanced though so hopefully i can sneak a few 6/6’s in there if the morning plays easy and afternoon difficult again.

Wont matter if my guys all putt like they did today.

We both dragging ass in the $200 single entry. I’m currently sitting in 518th with a bunch of borderline cut guys. Nobody higher than -2. luckily 5/6 play this morning so I won’t have to sweat it out to long.

Crazy how the afternoon winds and conditions hurt these guys yesterday. No real change in weather from morning to afternoon today. Massive advantage.

According to datagolf, there are many possibilities. They have it at:

    -4 16.6%
    -3 21.8%
    -2 22%

Which means it’s about 40% to be either lower than -4 or higher than -2. We shall see!

    I think -3 is likely.

Good Friday morning & YAY GOLF

Did not get to watch one minute yesterday, played golf in morning and then worked until 10PM

Have two line ups that scored well 189.5 & 192 (Finau, Rose, Simpson)

    Hit a 12 man $33 showdown for 3rd ($60)

Sitting here drinking coffee and dragging ass, so I can’t even tell you what I’m sweating today yet. Will be back on the air around noon to participate in the antics today.

FGWC did see that everyone is in the top half AWESOME START, rooting for upward movement for you guys today.

Good Luck Y’all, you will need it.

They sure moved some tees around today, more holes are playing longer today including 16 is now 325 versus the 303 yesterday

  • Dunzor

Kokrak with the 200 yard dart and opening birdie, that’s what I like to see

  • TheRyanFlaherty

Guess I’ll find out early if lots of my lineups are going to be drawing dead, or still have a shot…Let’s go Garcia and An. Great rounds, please and thank you.
