Best lineup so far is 344

    Dustin Johnson -12
    Jon Rahm -10
    Patrick Reed -10
    Hideki Matsuyama -6
    Joel Dahmen -6
    Carlos Ortiz -1

20% 6/6 for me thanks to Xander and Fowler or else it would be closer to 50%.

I hadn’t noticed. Did it change before or after DK closed the official scoring?

It was changed to no penalty. He went from -7 to -9. They asked him if he felt like it affected his lie or the integrity of the shot (paraphrasing as I heard it on Katrek and McGinnis) and he said no, which it didn’t. So they said ok. No penalty.

DK did update his scoring before paying showdowns. I know cuz I had him. Got me a couple extra bucks

  • Jgarver345

    Nice!!

My best is 315..my guys are 8 shots behind yours. Simpson tanked today. But Leishman cost me more 6/6’s.

    Spieth -11
    Reed -10
    Im-7
    Lowry -6
    Simpson-4
Morikawa -1….phew. Kid has heart. Starts with 3 bogies and falls to +3….

I actually like my other 6 with 20 points less a little better. But both have Im on them and he never finishes well. Have some great days though!

    GL all

  • ttucowboy84

12/26 6/6 for me with best one currently at 315.5

    DJ -12
    Reed -10
    Matz -6
    Finau -4
    Henley -3
    Niemann -1

    Gl to all this weekend.

If this were a live FGWC, what would physically be taking place during all 4 rounds? Or, just something Sunday? All day event?

Just got home from playing in a tournament – I followed the golf all day but had not read the forum since about 9am.

I think the last time they had a live golf final, they had tickets to the whole golf tourney plus a DK private box on like hole 17 on Friday with food/booze and some other meeting/party spot. You also got $1K cash for flights and got free hotel for 4 nights and I think there was a Saturday night party.

thanks, its nice to be sure. I had him in 4/8 showdowns and 3 cashed (2 bubbled with McIlroy)

Had a pretty good day overall but Xander bogeying the par 5 8th hole (his 17th) to miss cut by one totally sucked (not to mention the dozen or more putts he missed over Thur-Fri inside 8-9 feet).

At one point I was 7th in the FGWC and 25th on the $800K $5 entry with a slightly diff lineup (that had Spieth who was briefly in 1st alone).

Started the day in 100th in FGWC and finished the day in 33rd – had good days from Ancer and Oosty that helped, sucks that the Xander MC by a shot might have cost me $50K+

I survived again as well in the 2nd Round of the FGWC Showdown Survivor finishing 38th of 100; Top 50 advance to Saturday. Good job by the rest of the RG’ers here too as I see Spud, Dunzor and Wigg also with me in the 50 entries remaining. It would sure be nice to make it through one more day as the Top 25 that make it to Sunday all get some cash (think $400 min) and possibly a $5K trip.

    My 5/6 FGWC LU
    T3 Ancer -10
    T7 Oosthuizen-9
    T15 Thomas -7
    T34 Kokrak -4
    T66 Molinari -1
    MC Xander E 😡

So all that talk on Monday evening about Spieth not having the game to win anymore was just deflection?

Nope – I don’t trust him over 4 days so couldn’t pull trigger on my FGWC lineup but did throw him on one $5 entry lineup.

I did play him the last 2 days on my FGWC Showdown Survivor lineup as he does make birdies – he’s really good on Thur-Fri. I’m scared to go back to him tomorrow as he has not played well on weekends and especially not when near the lead. Decisions, decisions….

I’m on the fence, he did have two good days and last week Saturday results scare me, but he is going to be paired with DJ. I think the loss a couple years back to DJ in the playoffs still gets him.

Might be out to prove himself this weekend

Can’t play Spieth in JK’s WE game so might as well take my ball and go home lol

Some interesting pairings tomorrow – everyone going off #1 in just twosomes so tee times from 7am to 1:55pm non stop for 7 hours.

    Molinari-Woodland; recent major champions
Bradley-An; world’s worst Putters in one group
Phil-Webb; should set record for most combined smiles and waves ever in one pairing
Homa-Poston; two popular recent 1st time winners
JT-Im; potential fireworks in this group as both make a ton of birds
Rory-Louie; another major champions group that will have a big following
Rahm-Reed; which hothead will lose their shit first ?
Ancer-Merritt; not many saw these two being in penultimate group on Saturday
DJ-Spieth; final pairing and another pair of major winners.

Well DJ did hand him the US Open at Chambers Bay with a 3-putt from about 8 feet on 18 so I think Spieth still has the edge 😂

Not sure I’m going to play anyone who’s going off late on Showdown. The wind models I’m looking at say the worst wind is from noon-ish to 6pm; wind of 10-12 mph with gusts of 20mph.

Yea I just play small stakes but did jump in three or four weeks in the $5 entry but the multi lu’s are tough

Was fun to see all the big guys I don’t usually see; was up to second in the #172 but was pinballed around by wakeywakey’s six lu’s (ugh) in the top ten but finished 34th and ended up second in #31 with captaindan winning but got a hundred bucks so paid off about even money but would have loved to have made the finals

I will be back next year and highly recommend it for the experience if nothing else!

Wednesday I finished up a project in the morning, then had a 1:00 tee time with a couple friends. Lots of beer was consumed after golf. Wake up to whiz at 4 AM, somehow remember I reserved a few lineups. I was so drunk still I played two Tiger lineups! The other three are OK so I’ll likely break even.
Played 27 holes of twilight today on a wide open, baked out, 5700 yard course. Made 7 birdies. I’ve been having too many birdie-less rounds lately, so it’s a real treat to make more than 2 regardless of the course.

Grillo’s missed putt to MC is pretty funny

Ended up sweating out Reavie. Sitting in 29th in the $555. Was hoping for a lower 6/6, but still looking solid heading into the weekend.
    DJ-12
    Hideki -6
    Scott -5
    Furyk -4
    Glover -3
    Reavie -2

  • lfn1992

I have a bunch of weakish 6/6 but honestly it feels like such a luckbox event. Fowler, Xander at E could have easily made it and say Fleetwood, Woodland could have damn near lost it.

It is so wide open I think a wide variety of 6/6 could take it down. If gritty Brian Harman can T10, for example, I can win big bucks. If he finishes 63rd, I could be shut out.

  • whodat2

Showdown… Morikawa stuck with slooooooooow ass JB for the 3rd day in a row lol. You’re welcome.

  • Jgarver345

Going for an early morning extravaganza….last tee times are 8:15 with Fleetwood and 9:05 with Wolff…..then hope for big winds at 2pm.

My FGWC Round 3 Showdown Survivor is all guys between -1 and -4; I’m also hoping for slightly tougher conditions later in the day.

I missed basically all of what happen but I have been very very impressed with the way Rory has handled himself this year with the open media shit show and now today. I have really come around to him and I think he has a monster year next summer once he reflects on the past year.

    Fowler missing really surprised me
