Yeah, front 9 was 1.1 strokes under par yesterday and back was .5 under par. it’s really 8-14 that are the tough ones though. 15-18 actually well under par and 18 is easiest hole on the course. The “hole by hole stats” on datagolf is great.

I listened to the No Laying Up podcast where they had on the guys behind Datagolf. It was interesting to hear how they grade out true strokes gained vs PGA stat of strokes gained and just overall the complexity of golf stats.

I may have made a good call on Kevin Na this week, so I got that going for me…

So, do they integrate the strength of field via OWGR points into their strokes gained? I really want to do that in my system, but it’s really hard to go back and find the historical OWGR during each tournament.

Oh Hovland. You’re going to miss the cut today aren’t you

  • JH822547

Congratulations Sungjae, the first to be deleted from My Leaderboard.

    Double bogey for Hovland. Nice.

Edit: Actually, he’ll probably still make the cut. I was thinking he was +2 for tournament, but is -1.

Was. I need him to make it, too. I have a bunch of lineups in the green, but Reed is in the only one where I felt like I was NOT going to have to sweat my balls off this afternoon. Oh well…that’s DFS golf, ain’t it?

Bet Fatrick against Im today because yesterday on the broadcast they were talking about how out of whack Im’s swing was and that he was coming much steeper than normal. Well, he continues to struggle but Fatrick has no idea how to play.

Strength of field and strength of tour as well for what they call true strokes gained

Also when determining an in tournament projected winner and cut line they grade out each players performance relative to their skill level.

Seems like a ton of work to do on your own but that’s pretty sweet man, you should def listen to it

Coatrack starting out colorful early, but I approve!

Hovland over par through the front nine. Not good.

It’s great that people are taking that stuff into account, but I then want to take their data and run it through my own predictive models (Multiple Linear Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, K-Means Clustering, etc.). I don’t want to base my decisions on what their own predictive model spits out; I just want the raw data before they get there, so that’s why I have to do it on my own. Unless, of course, they’ll allow their data to be downloaded, which I doubt.

Last 4 guys I cut from my player pool … Davis, Hoffman, Champ, Palmer … sigh … and Davis was my sleeper last week that paid off …

Oh boy. Yea, not looking real promising now.

Conners streaking!!! Now let’s hold on for the back 9.

  • sneaksox

I never play Xander (which has been a losing proposition at times) but I finally decided to throw him in a lineup this week and watching his putting today is almost as painful as watching tanking Tony.

  • Baysman

Hovland is done. He’s playing terrible today.

Damn this scrub leaderboard is tilting because we’ve all played these guys at one stage or another

Bryson on this par 3 looked like me on PGA 2K21 this morning

  • BrianVT

I guess Reed knows he’s already through to next weekend, so might as well get some rest.

  • JH822547

I’m hesitant to say Finau is done because he has done some miracles before.

    But he is done.
