So Tiger and JT went to NY today and played Winged Foot (in prep for the US Open in 5 weeks) instead of practicing for this weeks event in Boston.

I love it. Priorities are right.

the next two events are no cut, right? time to max enter…

No there is a cut unless things changed from previous years

  • MrBreeze

I really dislike rostering DeShamWow, but man he checks so many boxes for this course, have to put him in

    Gif by me ;)

Doesn’t sound like the focus you want from your gophers.

I think he meant – there is a cut this week and then no cut the next 2 weeks so he is going to load up and max out this week. Then scale down or skip the no cut events.

I hope we can keep the 150 contestant Happy Meal going, tho. It’s its own special thing.

      RG Overall Ranking

    • Ranked #23

      RG Tiered Ranking

I’m going to try firing 150 lineups in the 5 dollar drive the green with this 16 player pool-

Bryson, Morikawa, Xander, Webb, Cantlay, Fleetwood, Hovland, Sheffler, Wolf, Kim, English, Champ, Redman, Fritelli, Burns, Norlander.

Also In the 200, 200, 100, 33 single entries with none of these golfers on more than 2 of the lineups and also not paired together more than once. Trying hard to not get sunk by only 1 or 2 guys again :)

This. No cut events are kinda boring. May just do a few entries but better to max out the cut events. Depending on how my single FBWC entry is doing tonight, I may splurge and max out the $25.

ahh misread it. yeah no cuts aren’t as fun especially the playoffs because the fields are smaller and weaker than the WGC’s.

i feel like it’s less value to multi-enter small field, no cut events..you almost always end up with tons of duplicates and you’ll really need almost the exact combination of the right players to take anything down.

  • MGoHarbaugh

Cut is 70 this week apparently. I’m sure I’ll find a way to still 5/6 even with the smaller field and higher cut.

I doubt it as we have small field no-cuts the next 2 weeks and then NFL

Next week or the week after we’ll likely have an issue filling as we will automatically get the recurring 150person contest that Tim set up inadvertently.

I think that these past couple years with so much emphasis on good International players spending more time playing in the US and chasing those ridiculous Fed Ex payouts, it is no longer true that certainly the Top 30 event and arguably even the Top 70 are weaker fields than WGC’s. A good number of studs are making so much money that they skip WGC’s, but they ain’t sitting out on 15 mil. And your back-end Top 70 guys are going to be just as strong if not stronger than your Asia/alternate tour qualifiers in WGC’s.

Maybe OWGR would disagree with me. Just my perspective, haven’t tested it with data.

yeah you need the nuts to get anything decent in those small fields. gl in the fbwc today saw you’re high up there.

Thanks! Don’t think I will be taking it down due to PG13 underperforming last night but Hopefully I’ll stay top 25. Still decent payout

I agree, next week We need to ignore the automatic contest that say’s Wyndham on it.

By the time I got going on Monday we already had 49 people in the Happy meal recurring contest. It was not my intention that the Wyndham be recurring it was an accident. But Next week I was thinking 100 then adding in 20 man contests to fill in for people that are looking for 3x happy meal cup pts.

I think I get why BIF doesnt like no cut events. BIF is remarkable for his Golf knowledge. Courses, players and an understanding of the Pro level competition. I bet he loves watching the golf of a no cut event. Betting on them in DFS is another story. Bif excels at picking players for the course, picking the younger talent that many dont know even exists. In DFS BIF doesnt want just the best 70-80 players, he wants the full advantage of 156.

As far as WGC and OWGR, they are ranked by money earned. Have anyone seen Euro tour events with $$‘s. The Eurotour is in financial trouble(IMHO). The winner of the wyndham got almost more than the entire field was paid in the Euro events. The Korn Ferry tour now is about 1/2 of a Euro tour. meaning the winner of Korn Ferry is making more OWGR than all but 1 or 2 Eurotour players. That is a redistribution of world golf points.

I agree a cut event is fun and more dramatic and an extra reason to pay attention on Friday. But I also love the no cut events, I like watching the Euro’s vs the Americans vs the rest of the world. I love watching for the guys who got the break to play for the life altering chance to make the big time. Its just DAMN good golf.

I think we are going to need some help in getting 150 people into the happy meal.

Thinking outside the box, I hope our Moderator extra-ordinaire might assist us in spreading the word within RG. Perhaps CAL can donate a dollar if he plays DFSGolf. I would love it if STL cards and Noto might throw in a buck. We could really use about 10 people that havn’t played before or rarely played.

Cmon RG management and personalities show your support for a struggling RG based league.

It’s only Tuesday but I think we will be OK on the Happy Meal

Some might be confused as I was with the Wyndam #2 invite and I didn’t join it until I saw the numbers that were already in it.

Any way to re-send the invite or send a new message to the league?

Anyhow; I finished my three LU’s and put them in the PME. Was just going to go DtG but needed the $10-$12 entry level for the crowns for MM tiks

Core of four and spun six others around them

Hoping for T15 or better from all of them :)

Is this a cut event? I really dont know, because I’ve watched zero playoff golf events since they started the playoff format.

Yes this is the only playoff event that has a cut. The next two weeks are no cut.
