If you didn’t see Davis’ 2nd shot on the par 5 18th, you missed one of the most amazing banana slices into the forest I have ever witnessed on TV by a pro golfer. I’m sorry to bring you this news.

Lol yeah that too. He saved it with a good shot from the drop, right by the hole, and made par. Had a smile on his face as he walked off, so he’s got a good attitude at least.

    Eagle

I misquoted you Tim, but you called it.
“Wouldn’t it be nice to see DJ make an Eagle here and go to Tomorrow with a 5 stroke lead.”

    Yup. :)

i love golf and hate it at the same time lol

this is the first week where i really dug into some numbers via datagolf. tried a different approach to my picks and got crushed.

werewolf was a disaster. grillo pad stunk. cam davis apparently shit himself on the back 9 and fleetwood mac broke even. the hamburgler and john gonnaRhamyou lived up to my expectations.

im not gonna give up because i love playing golf dfs and love watching it on tv. but man i still have so much learning to do.

need to really study some of these SG numbers more. aside from those stats are there any others that i should be focusing on? BIF recommended the PGA website as a tool to look at a bunch of statistics.

how much of a pick is based on feel? nothing to do with statistics. onto round 4 showdown tomorrow!

People don’t talk about DJs putting much but he can get so hot on the greens and I really don’t think it’s all luck, he’s good and he knows he’s good

I pick my core statistics, 2-3 of them, then always look at birdies and putting, but I might deprioritize them. No matter what, there’s a ton of gut feel involved.

You have extra questions to consider, and you might weight them differently per golfer, because you’re willing to compromise on one for another. Part of these are recent form and course history. Also, putting surface preference.

Sometimes you just believe a guy’s price has lowered enough that it’s worth a risk based on his talent. Or, you think you can get more value out of someone lower priced, compared to a high priced stud.

This is why I love DFS golf. It’s fun and frustrating both. I can have fun with stats. Plus there’s a lot of gut feel in it.

Haven’t been playing much golf since nba started. I got a crown 👑 promotion to play 2 golf contests this weekend. I played the $5 se showdown yesterday got smoked.

I drunk entered the $1 SE last night and freaking won it. 🥴🤷‍♂️ Wish I switched those contests around

DJ is friggin on fire with that putter anyone know how many total feet he has made now? And, 132.5 DK points for 3 days

i know…for the same reasons thats why i love it also. i probably should have noted that i only do single entries. ill make a lineup and enter it into about 20-30 bucks worth of contests for the main tournament. for showdown i usually just do 1 contest.

sometimes i get sucked into the pricing and take a golfer who i think is underpriced like a Spieth for example. and it always seems to be a mistake. i have to stop reading certain articles online because it always seems that the players they are big on don’t make the cut. happened to me this week with Finau.

HARRUMPH! Where was the BOFR? The Streak??

(Just kidding. DJ is doing so good, I might make out o.k. even with no 6/6’s.)

Absolutely…A person would have to be crazy to roster him!

I don’t see why you play him tomorrow unless you think he’s going to shoot

    Way to go!

As for DJ fade or not, I guess the best argument to fade is he’s far enough ahead that he’ll try to play it safe. I’ll just go with a DJ lineup or 2 and a none-DJ lineup.

Im stucking on if I should go hatton, davis or matz. Need 2 of the 3. Leaning hatton and davis. Ill be on dj fade train. Think he gets maybe 3 birds one bogey wins and 14 pars for about 50 points.

  • me_mike84

anyone think it would be advantageous to play a few of the guys who are on the border of making it to next week? for example Harman, Chez and Hoffman are right outside the top 70 but could get in if they move up the leaderboard today.

it’s so hard to fade him because of how lights out he has been playing but I think you have to figure that he is going to be so highly owned that the only play might be to just fade him.

i’m trying to focus on some players who are fighting to make it through to next week. i’m trying not to focus too much on the position points for showdown because people have been firing low enough scores on this course that it could easily offset those bonus points for position

Depends. If someone is weak mentally he’ll probably crumble under the pressure. If someone is strong mentally he’ll thrive under the pressure. If you know who’s strong mentally play them. I wish I knew who is.
