    Thoughts on Poulter?

That range right there at 7900-7500 with all those guys, someone is going to be way underowned.

I have Poulter #2 right after Webb in that range so I will have a lot. His results are so much better than Finau and Sergio who both might end up 10%+.

I had been looking at Niemann, Streelman, Jazz, Waring, Glover, Palmer, Cink, Harding, Conners and Lashley but am now unsure if I want to play any of them.

$7100 on DK seems to be the lowest I feel like I need to go with Weisberger, Knox and EVR all there.

Ya I’m looking at some of the similar guys. I just don’t LOVE anyone in the 7000 to 7500 range.

What’s everyone doing with the below 7k guys? There are a few I like, but I’m a bit unsure of them given their price.

I’m on Glover and Niemann, but that might be a mistake. Currently 50% Glover over 20 LU’s. Gonna have to pair that down a bit.

In case anyone else missed it. Ricky Elliot – Koepka’s caddie is a member at Portrush. I think that is a good advantage for a guy that only like to play majors.

Lol he has the highest ownership projection in the entire field on FN.

Well not sure I like this “weather thing” but I’ll try and exploit it for showdown and not mess with my full week lineups too much and use it as a tiebreaker. Seems like Brooks has the worst draw based on Roth…

How do you plan to exploit it? You focused on guys playing late or early?

    Thoughts on Poulter?

I think Poulter is an above average pick, but I will be underowned (or fade entirely) because (a) he hasn’t played well in 2 months, (b) he’s not great on links and fescue (he’s played well in 5 of the last 11 opens, but the others weren’t so good, including a couple dumpster fires), and © he’s not a great DK scorer. I often play him at the other three majors, but not the Open.

  • hautalak

Mix in some of both. I typically go mostly morning anyway but if we’re gonna get some rain, late afternoon (after about 2:30 tee time should be good too). Obviously this can turn out to be nothing but definitely worth a shot. This is how I’ve done best in showdowns.

Wow. Interesting take. I am loving the 7k to 7.6k range.

I think this is the way to use the weather information, unless it’s very clear that one group is going to get a clear advantage. Otherwise for full week LU’s, play who you like and use the Showdown to try and gain an edge.

With the trouble that lurks all around this course, would it be fair to assume that playing temperamentals like Rahm, and Hatton are an extreme risk?

I think Rahm has won the Irish Open twice. No idea how those courses stack up to Portrush but I would assume he’s no stranger to what’s coming. I’d agree that he can fly off the handle but isn’t that the same with other courses as well?

Yeah because come day 3 it’s all the same and guys just have to “get through” and might get more favorable conditions earlier anyway to shoot up the leaderboard. We’ve seen that plenty of times.

Based on what I am seeing for this week, it seems that we should be weighing more into the Irish than the Scottish. Most years its the opposite, but I think given the location and who the experts are touting, it seems that the Irish will be more reflective.
