Personally, I believe almost anyone with a 6/6 has a chance at the million. We still have 2 rounds left with 1st and last place being separated by only 9 strokes. On this course, with the possible crazy weather and the pressure of a major, anything can happen.

To your point, the best way to differentiate in my opinion is leave money on the table since so many build lu’s to the cap. Also, Brooks ownership was between 12-15% on DK. That means the vast majority of people didn’t have him. Even 30% ownership means a majority doesn’t have a player. What percentage of people leave say $1k on the table? Doubt there’s a duplicate entry with that. Golf is the best DFS sport to leave money on the table if you ask me.

Yea all 5 of my MM lineups weren’t duplicated. I never build based on ownership, but I always build my lineups not using the max 50K. I alway leave a $100 or more remaining salary. I’ve been doing that for a long while now and rarely are any of my lineup duplicated.

My theory too, but… I weighed heavily on Euro, and last 3 bit me… Still think Rahm can win.

My single milly maker lineup is trash. I tinkered myself into a steaming pile of shit. The best of luck to anyone who has a shot at $$$$. I hope you have an exciting weekend.

  • ilayup

Yeah I agree that you would be foolish to not have any shares of a player like Brooks if MME. But I don’t believe that ownership is everything in MME or golf (at least it hasn’t been proven out enough to me in any analysis). I need to see the math play out to prove it. Have taken real contest lineups from GPPs large and small. Run many simulations where you swap out higher owned players for lower owned. It’s just not a linear thing.. and our intuition plays tricks on us —- downside of picking the lower owned player when he underperforms is not fully appreciated… the upside of when he outperforms over appreciated. Feel free to point me to better math proofs on it.. happy to be wrong.

Go on Moli par them all!

I was not able to make team “oo” this week as DK overpriced all of them to make it impossible to put a group of six together. It’s really sad considering 4 members of team “oo” are in the top 12.

If Brooks, Fleetwood, Westwood, or Van Rooyen win this, all four majors this year will have been won by a team “oo” member.

What? You didn’t realize half of the coverage was going to be Rory and Tiger not making the cut.

Totally the truth. I thought the same thing and so I maxed out a 150 @ $5 and what happens is this…with the pay structure the way it is, you have to finish extremely high just to get close to your money back. There’s 176,470 people in the Million. I’m sitting 899th and that’s worth $150 right now. This is a $20 entry so if you max out it’s $3,000…..I’m in the top 0.5% and am getting 7.5 buy-ins back. That’s crazy. For you to break even with 1 ticket you have to be to top 20 to get $3k pay out. Then you could profit from all the other little BS cashes you rack up. It’s brutally hard. I’ve just started playing this about 3 months ago and have messed around with the things like the example I gave. It seems to me that you need to play a little higher to have a chance. Like 100-300 fields and definitely lower max entry stuff. I like the 4 person winner take all things but those are where you really notice the rake. The MME/GPP or whatever they are called don’t bother me because they take what they take and I see if I finish here I get this and there I get that. When you play 4 of these winner take alls and you win 1 of 4 you’re certainly not even, you’re stuck 25% of a buy-in. It is a lot of fun though, also extremely frustrating if you’re close to cashing or cashing big….Way too long a post from pretty much a newbie with little info but I like to chime in. Sorry

Folks complain all the time about how top heavy poker tournaments are, but that’s a joke compared to DFS.

Yes I have some Redman but Woodland ruined one of those LU’s and Scott ruined another. The 6.5K guy I called early in the week was Glover who is doing really well right now.
