Especially since he has finished 16th or better in 6 of last 7 Open Championships….I think he finished 20th last time it as at Carnoustie as well

Yeah and his last missed cut at the Open was in 2006

Just looking at the big $4 gpp on dk and holy shit is it bad. $100K to first $4k to 10th. Plus, min cash is only $6.

Really wish they would adopt a flatter payout for these things.

I love it. I play these GPP for the big prize. Not the min cash

BIF I see you are one of the first gladiators to enter the Thunderdome. Nice! I am doing one lineup. If you are too, lemme know if you want to swap percentages. Nothing massive, 5-10%, just something to offset variance.

Yah I won a ticket a couple weeks ago.
PM me and we can chat (but I’ll be slow to respond over the next few days as I’m going away for the weekend shortly and prob won’t be around until late tonight)
I never realized that those big entries paid out less than the top 20% of entries.

  • Ndepompei

Brooks 9200 in a major is tough to not lock in every lineup

Glad it is up, hope your having fun…. Be sure to write us a story, post in off topic about the trip, what you did, where you stayed, the weather, etc. Just have to talk wife into going over, maybe next year… Even if it is just to watch the open, great experience…

DO you really like those 2 guys at this course with this comp. ? I would rather have a home guy. Both playing well, just dont know if Links is a Finau thing yet… Like Sullivan

    Great News Great News

Just letting everyone know that the DK community team has approved satellite tickets for the Open Championship. No different than the contest that was run for the US Open, this will only be available for people who are in the Rotogrinders Golf Forum League. As mentioned for the US Open, I am hoping to grow these satellite contests with the DK community team and that will only continue to happen with the support from you and your participation. The participation level for the US Open was great, as the forum members showed excitement and we were able to fill the contest quickly! For the Open Championship we will once again have the satellite contest for the $444 pressure putt at a $9 buy in. Some of the feedback I received from the previous satellite was to lower the buy in and have multiple winners. With that in mind along with me wanting these satellite contests to be geared toward contests that many people can’t play on a regular basis I asked the DK community team for a contest that I don’t believe they have offered before. The DK community team came through and we will also have a $5 satellite for the $150 three max entry contest with the top two players earning a contest ticket. The $150 contest is typically a higher paid out contest with limited entrants and obviously three max entry. For the Open Championship the contest is $250,000 with 1851 entries.

Both of these contests are now available to enter within the Rotogrinders Golf Forum League. With your support, hopefully we can continue to grow this promotion with the DK community team. They have told me with good interaction we can potentially add more in the future. Thanks
    Coop

The worst DFS contest of the year in any sport. Whoever guesses the right weather tee times wins!. I hope that I pick the correct weather model to predict winds correctly within short time bands.

I don’t know golf stats that much (which is why I never enter too many lineups) so I mostly look at discrepancies between the golfers’ odds of winning versus their DK price. Finau is a more than decent choice if I base myself on that.

Simpson, however, has average Open history, and his odds fit his price. I like him only because he had more than decent results in the strongest fields this season (Masters, Players, U.S. Open), but there’s a good chance I don’t roster him for the Open.

Sullivan’s recent form is incredible, but most of the tournaments he played were in weak fields, which is why I’m not sure how I feel about him.

There’s also Schauffele, who always flies under the radar. We know he can perform in strong fields and he made me win a lot last year. I’m worried about his recent form though. He could be a really good under 5% GPP play and he’ll probably be on my short list.

Very Important, but even when you look at Past Years, certain guys almost always show up. 80% of last years top 20, add in RF, a little CH, Links specialist and it should work out.
I am really tempted to do a 150 team, but think I will wait for either the PGA or Masters next year…
Make sure I am dialed in…
As with every week, this too could be a doozy. All of a sudden, spieth is back, or a Fretelli…. Or even Li and linups are screwed…
Definitely running a test on this one and see what the outcome is…

Update on 2017 JDCLASSIC champ b_dechambeau, who had to WD on Thursday w/injury. In Denver being evaluated. X-rays negative on structural or muscular issues. Planning on flying back to the QCA this weekend to take chartered flight to next week’s Open Championship. #JDC18

Think Molinari is a toss for me, along with a few others. Going back thru the years, he can play links golf, but isnt especially good at it.

His best links does not put him up there with these guys. Maybe 10th TOPS !
    Hope it blows, hard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It becomes a crap shoot and brings players like Grace into it as anyone can go low, hence his low round at the Open recently….it becomes a miniature John Deere Classic on a slightly tougher course….

Is this all one course ? Shows as 2 courses in 2007
