Good Friday Morning & YAY GOLF

My first Friday morning goose egg in a long time, my interest in this tourney is waning fast.

Can not really see a path to 6/6, I thought Varner was going to deliver me, but alas it is not to be.

Just glad this is not my beat the forum week, speaking of which, El Barrachos has a strong line up going less RCB.

Prolly put a weekend entry in , just to keep my interest up.

Good Luck to y’all with a chance to make it to the weekend, you will need it.

OK after drinking my coffee, and being a degenerate and all, I made two Showdown entries, one in the $8 and one in the Single bullet $12

They wrote down the wrong score on a hole or totaled their score incorrectly for the round. When they go to turn it in they sign the scorecard saying everything is 100% correct. When their scorer turns in their correct score they get DQed. Almost every time this is bc of an accident but the rule is in place for people “forgetting a stroke or two”

This is the most archaic rule in golf. The score is kept by the tournament. It is available instantly online. This game needs to stop living in the 19th century.

You can sign for a score higher than what you made on a hole and not be DQ’d

If you sign for a score on any hole lower than what you made, it is a DQ – even if you simply just mix up two holes and the total is correct, it is still a DQ. By this I mean if you start 4-5 and shoot 72 but sign for 5-4 and 72 It’s a DQ because one hole is lower than you actually shot.

It is most common (it seems) when a guy plays bad and doesn’t really pay attention to what the guy wrote down for you especially if the total is correct. Usually just laziness on the player but sometimes just one holes is wrong and he signs for a 4 but actually made 5 and realizes later that he fuk’d up and DQs himself.

Edit – just adding – Players are only responsible for the actual score on each hole (not the totals) – when I play tournaments, I don’t even add it up the nines or total or write it in as the guys working the scorers tent do that and I’m not responsible for that but in reality I know what I shot so it’s a non factor

This is one of the most interesting posts I never knew… Great insight BIF!

eh i dunno… what do you mean it’s “kept by the tournament”? Who is the tournament? Who specifically is tracking each player’s score? What if they err?

The score is being kept by the partners in the playing group and it’s best to keep this consistent at all levels of golf IMO to avoid confusion.

hot damn – looks like a streak is likely too

I have bets on him but no DFS exposure.

OrientalExpress is 30% on him in the big DK $10

  • mitchsnyderdfw

    Cut just jumped to -1.

    6/6 percentage 3-4%
    5/6 percentage 15%

That could make for fun DFS weekend, it’s early on a Friday though

I pronounce Jim Furyk as “Furry-K” – I like to think it is a rapping monster that shows up occasionally on Sesame Street who also does karate. Like a giant letter K covered in muppet fur. Just like Jim Furyk.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Need some Kokrak magic this morning to get above that cutline. Decent chance at 6/6 with DJ, Woodland, Knox, Fleetwood, and Mitchell

Tons of birdies out there early this morning.

1/2 and 11/12 were four of the six holes that played under par yesterday. Everyone starts on these holes, it will get more challenging after those holes.

I just wish they would take the positional points away on Sunday.

It would make so much more sense for them to have the positional points on the Weekend Golf (like they used to) instead of Round 4 Showdown.

I’m still waiting for Cantlay’s score from yesterday to change. I refuse to believe he actually shot a 75.

My Tiger/Fleetwood/Deki/Woodland/List team would realllllly benefit from Stenson having another API Friday

  • joephoto

Kokrak can make my weekend just by making the cut today. Have him with 5 guys top 13.
