Really looking forward to this week.
Working at home Thursday and took Friday off to watch the cut sweats. Also looking forward to the new expanded “coverage of every player and every shot” this year.

How is TPC Sawgrass for first timers? Are they viable?

    Really varies

Lots of MCs, lots of 25th to 50th place finishes and then a couple Top 5’s from Kisner and Spieth

This is a 144 players field so it was 50/50 with respect to the number making and missing cut. Now it’s likely a little less than 50% making it unless there are a lot of ties at 65th or better.

    Interesting, thanks.

I see Munoz at 6100 and its really hard not to lock him in.. Will spend the next few days deciding between him or Hoffman.

Looking forward to doing better this year in #BeattheForum as I’ll get everything posted up tomorrow.

Will be out there Friday most of the day and debating the practice round on Wednesday.

Weather is going to be perfect with high 70’s very low 80’s Thurs-Sunday with right now no rain in the forecast which will make things interesting if they let it stay a little on the dry side.

Last year 6 out of 13 first timers made the cut which includes Wyndham Clark’s DQ and Cameron Champ’s WD from what I see.

Among the first timers making the cut, Ancer and McCarthy both shot all 4 rounds at par or better while the only one to shoot all 4 rounds under par was Dahmen.

Dahmen is my cheap sleeper this week.
    Only 6600 on DK.

I’m wondering how much buzz/traction/taut exposure he’ll get this week which will cause higher ownership.

Put him, Kuchar at $7800 and another player under 8k you have $27,700 or so available for the other 3 depending on the cost of the 3rd under 8k player.

Honestly, the pricing on several players is super soft or too high.

For example, Koepka is too expensive at 10k+
And guys like Hatton(7400) and Vegas(6300) are too cheap.
I think this may be a “chalk be damned” week and just pick the guys you want.

Tough week for the max entry guys like myself. No $5 so far

Have you guys had much rain in the last couple of weeks ?

By my count there were 22 first timers last year

I think you were looking at the 2020 google sheet and seeing how people with just last year’s result did but you should be looking at the 2019 tab for people with no experience and then look at the right side of the page to see how they each did.

Try your luck at the Milly maker. Thats life changing money if you get lucky.

The Southeast has had consistent rainfall over the past month or so as we transition into spring time. Florida is a little further south but id assume theyve had a few showers over the last few weeks.

  • noddy

Interesting that of the 6 winners on the google docs 3 of them missed the cut the year prior to winning it.

Edit: Looked at some past reports for Ponte Vedra specifically and I bumped up the amount.

We’ve had almost 2 inches of rain in March and 1.5 inches from 2/13 to 2/29. Had a few windy days this past week but that’s been about it.

The temp predictions have gone down from mid to upper 80’s during the tournament to now high 70’s low 80’s.

I’ve got 9 tickets for the Milly, so I guess I’ll be making 9 lineups this week. Really hard to avoid picking Tyrrell Hatton at 7,400, isn’t it?

I was curious about ownership last year vs. finishes. Would be cool if the Google Doc included ownership from the big GPP. I went back and looked at the comments from last year’s thread and here are some of the excerpts and results:

“I guess Day’s WD last week really matters to folks…only 6.4% in DKs 1 million dollar tourney..he is in my L/U that has 4 guys at less than 10%” – Jason Day finished T8

“Woodland and RCB being 21% owned makes me happy” – RCB missed cut shooting 77/76; Woodland finished T30

“Webb Simpson 8.6% in DTG makes no sense to me at all, I’ll take it” – Webb finished T16 after winning it the year before.

“Stayed with Michael Thompson (7200 1.4%) this week, he has been playing really solid.” – finished T70

“So this tournament ended up little more chalky than last years.
    Ly 20%+ 5
Ty 20%+ 7, 8 if you count Rory who is 20% if rounded up
    Ly 10%-19.99% 18
Ty 10%-19.99% 16 not counting Rory
Basically same amount over 10% ty vs Ly but more over 20% ty.”
