Yup – that’s why the Rapid Fire format is bad for Full Tourney as you need all 10 guys to make cut which has not happened in any Rapid Fire offering that I’m aware for at least the past 3 weeks

Interesting. I just deposited into MKF the other day, still learning the ropes. So assuming the fantasy point totals seem low (which I think they do), those are fairly +EV, right? I’m admittedly a very casual golf fan but this seems to be an edge here

So when I was looking over previous results Sunday on one site I noticed Lee Westwood was missing and I sent a message to the owner of the site to let him know. He sent me an email with the following:

“I have now done further research and found out more information on Lee Westwood. Seems that Westwood qualified along with Tiger, Kelly Kraft, Shugo Imahira and Jonas Blixt but all five decided not to go. PGA Tour is very quiet in not telling folks about this. We all know that Westwood loves the ponies and along with Luke Donald breeds and races horses. He has had horses win in England and one of the biggest horses races in England is Cheltenham which Westwood was at last year and won a whopping 48,200 pounds (About $65,000) in one bet where he put seven selections together in a Super Heinz bet and was right. Guess what is this week, the Cheltenham Festival so I will bet $65,000 that is where Westwood is this week.”

So I looked further into this and here is an article regarding his 2019 winnings there:

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/horse-racing/cheltenham-festival-2019-golfer-lee-14132691

Then in 2018 he had more success there: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-43407956

    Yah supposed to be

    https://www.pgatour.com/company/2019/10/07/live-streaming-every-shot-live-during-the-players-championship-2020.html

“Further, the PGA TOUR will be launching an all-new TOURCast product that will allow fans to follow every shot from each group with a beautiful 3D rendering of the golf course and shot trails. The new TOURCast platform will also include deep access to the PGA TOUR’s ShotLink powered by CDW data, as well as video clips of every single shot available for fans to see, on demand. The launch of TOURCast at THE PLAYERS will mark the start of every event in the PGA TOUR Season through the FedExCup Playoffs being offered on the platform. TOURCast will be available on the PGA TOUR’s mobile apps and website.”

Am I reading this right? Is ST going to be enhanced as well?

good luck to you. The first 4 $5 matches were eaten up rather quick and I might add by (3 of 4) players who usually play for less. When I grabbed my $1, I started laughing and thought the sharks are swimming in for the kill. Now that might not be the case, everyone seems to up the ante on majors but to me its humorous. This week should be a bit of a sweat for you at the get go. Enjoy it. When its my turn, I stress a bit but its for ego not money. I realize I could easily do an 0-for or even get close to a clean sweep. To me the sweat starts Monday and I enjoy the week.

Early MKF lines are up. Not worth betting anything on round 1 until the payouts go up, but I will say that the full tourney fantasy points lines are definitely too low across the board so I’m putting in some overs there while I can. Of course it has the problem of being a cut event so there’s a solid chance somebody screws up and the bets get refunded but even last week with several big names missing the cut I still had a few full week bets that were live and hit the all unders I predicted.

Definitely going with overs as the points stand now. You always have the missed cut bailout possibility if someone isn’t playing well.

Hey Hey Illinois finally opened up a sportsbook and its only a few miles away from me.
No on-line gaming yet but the store is open at Rivers casino in my hometown DesPlaines. Next one set to open next Monday and more to come.

Thank god I can get away from MKF. I have to say I was unimpressed by what was offered, the web site, and customer service was atrocious. I know many have won there and that kills a lot of complaints, but I got to say I put in $50 got a free $50 and now have $40 remaining, and MKF SUCKS. I hope the sportsbook offerings are going to be everything I hope for.

FWIW – yesterday started the clock on an 18 month ban in Illinois on DK and FD sportsbook so Sept 9 2021 I could have a sportsbook account there.

They are and then they aren’t lol I think you’ve been through the whole sports betting process though, so it’ll at least be 100x better than MKF (which I can’t even play in IN). It’s crazy too b/c we have a book but oh well.

Need redemption after last week when a late night sacrificed a lot of my lineups (blank not even drunk ones lol)

I missed the 1st Happy Meal … will there be a small fry I can get in?

  • BrianVT

I’m only buying 4 lotto tickets into this awful milly-maker contest. I wonder how long until DK starts giving away extra tickets like they normally do?

    good luck to you.

My ego doesn’t exist as I know what I am. The pressure is more on them in my mind because they don’t want to lose to someone as bad as me. This all for fun and a few bucks.

Good luck to you as well this week.

Sure hoping so but I’ve been stubborn on some guys this year and it’s failed (Grillo, back when I thought Straka was playing well, Brooks, and the list goes on). I can’t guarantee I won’t do that this week either since some are still on my list…

I hate it but I might be playing ya boy (DeCham) pretty heavy. Add some Day and Garcia…

  • BrianVT

Where’s Nick Marsh? Kevin Na walking them in this week?

I got 36 LU’s for the minimax and 1 LU for single entries. Thinking about expanding my 1 LU into a 3-max with a 4 player core. I do have 2 Dechamwhoknows this week. Only because I have pivot point for some LU’s with Fleetwood Simpson and Decham. I thought I saw on the weather forecast that Sat. will be windy as hell. I fade Decantplayinthewind. I need to monitor the forecast.

I’m not sure how many I’ll roll out this week but likely more than my typical 20 (will add dimes too lol). I have one ticket so far and that will likely be my only one.

As for weather unless I am fully convinced it’ll be a big swing I won’t factor it much. And I’m back on the fade Cantlay train!

Ha-ha! I did consider ol’ Kevin Na again this week, but thought that might be playing with fire. At least he made the cut last week…

  • nicholasmarsh

Think Mac Hughes can keep it rolling as a potential $6.7K punt?

EDIT: Never mind. So many guys to consider under $7K. That said, fade the stars and scrubs approach?

  • kps3205s

Interesting piece of info I read Considering this is a 144 player field vs most other tournaments are a 156 player field:

2019 1,704 birdies were made on the course as only 8 other courses saw more birdies made. Rory made 21 birdies and it was T-5th (Brandt Snedeker and Abraham Ancer led with 23).

In 2018 1,754 birdies were made as only 4 of the 51 courses saw more birdies made. Webb Simpson made 23 which was T-2nd.

With the way pricing is, it’s too easy to build lineups without having to dip low, which is just how DK wants it for these high-profile events (let the casuals use their favorites or well-known names).

However, let’s not forget these guys from last year (low priced and low owned):

    Jhonattan Vegas $6100 3.37% – T3
    Jim Furyk $7100 2.62% – 2nd
    Brandt Snedeker $6900 2.33% – 5th
    Eddie Pepperell $6800 0.30% – T3
    Abraham Ancer $6900 0.41% – 12
    Ryan Moore $7000 0.81% – 20
    Ollie Schniederjans $6100 0.15% – T16
    Nick Taylor $6100 0.38% – T16
    Brian Harman $6800 0.12% – T8

hat tip to Tim for the ownership data

Seeing all of that makes me remember how difficult this tournament is.
