Was worried about Ancer and Bradley making the cut, not Simpson, Fleetwood or Cantlay. 🤦‍♂️

Or Hovland MC’ing as well but his mom’s phone call about not moving his marker and 2-stroke penalty cost him

Can someone please help me out.

The media is making a big deal about McIlroy’s comments that he was chasing distance and he now realizes its not making his game better.

OK, he was trying to make his game better.
But the media is making it all about Bison. OK Bison is the spark for distance hunters. But isnt a bunch of golfers fixated on distance, for a long time….
Its a bunch of fake news that Rory screwed with his game because of Bison. Bison got into Rory’s head….Hell no, distance got into his head. I just cant work with anything that implies Bison is getting a mental edge over the best golfers.

So Rory, admidts he tried something, Has said he thinks it was a mistake. Kudo’s that he recognizes it and is adjusting. Lets keep this on Rory and not bring Bison into it…

Rory’s comments about his struggles mentioned Bryson; Rory said he has been watching what Bryson has been doing on the course and if that is where the game was going, he wanted to be in front of it.

He also said his swing was getting too long and flat from the speed training which threw his tempo off – there is no one swing or solution for everyone and Rory is realizing what he tried didn’t work (for him).

He’s not blaming Bryson for his struggles, Rory only said that he was doing it because of what Bryson had been doing on the course. The media needs to make a story where there isn’t one (or isn’t much of one).

Rory literally said he did it because of Bryson

    -Lanto 0-4 from 5-10 ft, 3-3 from 13-20 ft.
-Niemann has zero clue where his driver is going to go, he might grind out pars but he is going to have another disappointing weekend.

Currently sitting 30-5 vs the forum w/ the worst of my three milly lineups so that’s cool!

Unfortunately need Mats and Kuch (my attempt at safe/cash plays) to make the cut to have a shot at keeping that record up. GL everyone!

    This didn’t age well…

2/6 for my first attempt at a cash lineup. Enjoy the weekend golf and my yearly donation to the forum :)

    GL everyone!

Rusty Knox halfway home to the elusive bogey free/ birdie free round of 72.

I agree that Rory and Bryson are not at odds with each other.
Bryson has done something new and it worked.
Distance has always been a thing that many golfers feel can help them vs the competition. The best players in the world all see that distance added to their game could mean the difference between a champion/Profesional/Korn Ferry member. Distance chasing has been a part of the game as long as I remember John Daly.

The story is Bison is in their heads…IMHO disagree (I think BIF agrees but not sure)

His 85-105 wedge proximity from fairway in three attempts is over 30 feet. I could do better.

Tough week with lots of chalk/cash plays MC’ing

I got 6/6 in cash with Casey, Will Z, Ancer, JT, Spieth and Niemann but also strongly considered Hovland, Finau, Webb and even Hideki.

I think it’s a combination of things – Bryson is the visual they see on TV or on the course with them but the data is probably a bigger factor. The top players have data scientist type of people on their teams now to break down what the stats say. What Bryson is doing isn’t rocket science, he’s just pushing it to the outer edge.

Players have access to info now which tells them their shot dispersion patterns, accurate yardages, speed, apex, etc… they can literally simulate their own rounds and pick what is the optimal play in each situation. Not all players do it as some are more “feel” or “emotion” players but guys like Bryson are all about the data and it works for him.

There are a handful of guys who have chased distance and said it made them worse – Knox was one for sure.

Brian Gay in his mid 40’s added 20-25 yards as he was already a short hitter before guys started to beef up and his career was basically over hitting it 265. He successfully added that distance over the last year and even won this past fall.

No worries, it’s all part of the plan to get to go off first and alone tomorrow and fire a 64 🤙🏻

Yep hes about to bogey the 8th to go +4 on the day

  • klyon28

Morikawa already killing my weekend only lineups Just like Poulter and Werenski did on Thursday to my lineups. Unbelievable

  • JimKronlund

Have a nice start to weekend with Higgs Steele Smith with a combined ownership 4.9%.

  • mh8235

If 6/6% is already like >5% and Morikawa at 20%+ finishes last of all that made the cut, its not inconceivable that a 5/6 could take down some contests this week correct?

  • monarch

Bryson is in Rorys head but Rory has a lot of demons right now as does JT. Rory just is extremely open unlike a DJ or Brooks. Rory is so well spoken but it would serve him well to not let the public inside his struggles. DJ impresses me so much. He is at the point in his career that he is not threatened at all by Bryson. Jordan despite his struggles has embraced Bryson as has his close friend Tiger Woods. Golfers overall can be very rigid and it does not take much to break their rhythm.

    Smith with the bounce back

I can see SE GPPs being won by 5/6, but probably not 150-max

Morikawa and Niemann both yet to make a birdie…at 20% a pop, certainly seems plausible the perfect 5/6 could be in play for SE

I feel the need to say this every once and awhile…. There is no such thing as “safe plays” or “Cash games” in golf dfs. Its the highest variance of dfs games and you have to be an absolute mad man to play cash games vs gpps in golf.
