The PLAYERS Championship – TPC Sawgrass

2015 Winning Score -12 Rickie Fowler in a 3-man playoff
To make the 36 hole cut you needed to be Even Par

2014 winning score -13 Cut was Even Par to play the weekend
2013 winning score -13 Cut was Even Par
2012 winning score -13 Cut was Even Par
2011 winning score -13 Cut was Even Par
No that was not a typo…..same winning score 2011-2014 and same cut line the last 5 years !

This tournament marks the return of Jordan Spieth – first tourney since his Masters debacle and the #SB2K16 vacation.

This tourney also annually features one of the strongest fields of the year.

Only 144 players this week and the usual 70 & ties make the cut. With a smaller field, the 6/6% has the chance to be higher than past weeks (based solely on the fact that a higher percentage of field is making the cut).

Last year (2015) there were some big (very BIG) names that missed the cut and that is normal here because just about every hole can be birdied or double bogied. If it’s it anything like last year, there will be carnage that will put us DFS’ers on tilt early.

    2015 Key Missed Cuts
    Daniel Berger CUT 71 74 145
    Brooks Koepka CUT 78 67 145
    Jason Kokrak CUT 69 76 145
    Matt Kuchar CUT 73 72 145
    Ryan Moore CUT 73 72 145
    Justin Rose CUT 71 74 145
    Jason Dufner CUT 73 73 146
    Harris English CUT 75 71 146
    Danny Lee CUT 73 73 146
    Lee Westwood CUT 76 70 146
    Danny Willett CUT 72 74 146
    Brandt Snedeker CUT 69 78 147
    Jordan Spieth CUT 75 72 147
    Phil Mickelson CUT 73 76 149
    Ryan Palmer CUT 77 72 149
    Jason Day CUT 69 81 150
    Luke Donald CUT 77 76 153
    Gary Woodland CUT 79 74 153

Keep editing, Jim. Hopefully in the right direction.

Yeah it kept moving then went to 40th and now 29th with 2 more birdies yet to be scored.
This is the time sweats come in because its the final crunch time.
    It is a 6/6 team.
Edit: and has Day on it..

  • JimKronlund

Crash so big in Nascar that I do not have a single team 6/6 out of 25 teams.

I feel for the people that moved off Kuchar, but at that point in time and a generalized sickness report that could have been something that got a lot worse. It seemed like the smartest moved and at that point and it probably was. They always will downplay a sickness or injury so it seemed prudent to fade him at that point.

yeah it def turned out to be a bad move but i still feel it was the right move. news broke late enough that it wouldnt really change ownership % so moving off him was probably the right move even tho it didnt turn out well

  • amanuel777

Kuch just totally screwed up his chances by missing the eagle putt. Damn.

  • mschu1213

Did you guys know Ricky Fowler won this tournament last year?

  • jsw3ent

They cried so much yesterday about the greens——-so to keep them from whinning ——what did they do, water the greens last night ? Me, I like to watch a course like yesterday—-when a two putt is not certain——where nothing is a gimmie. I like a US OPEN type of EVEN par for the win——instead of 10—15—20 under. Cry babies they are.

I Hope Mats understands how important it is for him to get to 10-11 under to me.

Same here. He just can’t get anything going, unfortunately.

  • ninerzfan8

Well at least the day Thomas 4/6 and 3/6 I have are going to make me some money this week.

    Yep. stupid.

Ken Duke pissing off a ton of people by taking the second place points, where he clearly doesn’t belong.

Played golf today – just catching up on things now

Lots of 5/6 and 4/6 with Day that are cashing 2x to 5x – pretty much stuck in those positions unless Mats can get to -10 (preferably with an eagle) LOL

A Chappell bogey on 18 helps a little too

Matsuyama is having a tough day, he seems so apprehensive about every shot he takes.

  • Dewoc19

serious question, I never used to keep notes or stats after each week…. I did this week

I played a total of 23 players this week which is more than I wanted to but I swapped out Kuchar so that’s why I had more than I wanted, out of the 23 only 10 made the cut, that’s only 43% which is pretty bad in my eyes, what would you consider a decent percentage, above 60%, 70%… thoughts?

  • 4Champion

Remember, they are going to be taking the second round points away from Kirk and Stroud after the completion of the tournament.

Have they not done that yet? I just assumed DK already had wiped their 2nd round scores.

It’ll vary significantly from week to week; this week I was 18 of 28 making cut which was good given the amount of “good” players missing the cut but I did lose a couple highly owned players like Stenson and Fowler who cost me a ton of 6/6’s.

I think a better Stat to track is of your 600% total ownership – what % made the cut. If you have 500+ then you will likely have a good (or great week). If you are below 400-450 (depending on the week) you will likely be unhappy!

Can’t hate too much on Mats today. He only had 3 negative holes, 3 birdies, and didn’t plummet down the leaderboard. Could have been much worse.
