Only one person sharp enough to have Svennson in their Happy Meal team I see.

I just closed down who was it?

I cant imagine that Omgponies is real excited. I think he is getting his butt whooped in #beattheforum. that could even up the score for the butt whoopin we took last year.

  • JH822547

Me, with Putnam as well. Same team is 3rd and 4th in small buy-in GPP’s.

He was showing up in the sexy new ‘opportunities gained’ metric.

No idea how today is going to go but I’m all for continuing the carnage just so I can possibly sneak in a few 6/6s in a low % (I think with the chalk disasters yesterday) tourney. I’m getting the feeling we will see that leaderboard flipped around a little today though.

  • WVUDoss

Man, my entire weekend hinges on whether Schenk can go out this afternoon and shoot a 66. RIP me….

  • MrBreeze

Good Friday morning and YAY GOLF

Even Par is T76, so all your +1 +2 guys need to shoot -4 or -5 today, cut likely -3 and maybe -4

have a few entries that are one golfer from 6/6 , so need the right fella’s to go low today, but not holding my breath

went back and reviewed Putnams stats, almost all red, so WTH man, did he wake up yesterday and say F it I’m going to be a golfer today?

  • CJtheGrump

    Happy Cut-Sweat Friday. 1st of 2019!

I’ve got ZJ and his Bridie-Free round putting him 2 shots off the cut line to start the day. I have Harman at 3 shots off. Ollie at even, 1 shot off. Not feeling good about this. Somehow I’m still above the cash line in a double up.

  • CJtheGrump

Is there a lot of Hadwin, Spieth, and Stanley in double up rosters this week?

Yup, this week could be another total whiff. Skill.

First day stuff…. No way that putter continues. We have seen this before, I will wish you good luck. Rogers screwing up one team, Adam Scott the other.

I dunno where you are getting -3 or -4 as a cut, the cut after day 1 would be at -1 and it is closer to E than it is to -2 which would mean it is most likely going to either remain at -1 or go to -2 today. I would be surprised if it got any lower than -2.

I’ve talked about The Fried Egg newsletter before but just finished reading today’s and when talking about Svensson, they had a link to their article about 8 PGA Tiur rookies from last week where they mentioned Svensson.

    ———

Here is what they wrote this morning plus the link for the Rookies article.

The first round of the Sony Open is in the books and Canadian rookie Adam Svensson holds a one-shot lead. The rest of the top 10 is peppered with international flair as we have players from all over the globe in the mix this week.

    Svenny

Adam Svensson is a certified baller. We highlighted him as one of the rookies to watch this year, and he has shown up in fine form in 2019. Svensson left college early to turn professional and has spent three years playing solid golf on the Web.com before earning his card in 2018. He can make a ton of birdies when he gets hot, as seen on Thursday. His first round featured 7 birdies and an eagle, as well as an unbelievable par save on 16 after a near shank off the tee. He was in the top three in both strokes gained approach and putting on Thursday, a recipe for success.

Ya i remembered him from the RBC as your sleeper last season, but I never really considered him here since I didn’t need to go that low in salary and I thought of him more as a bomber based on the discussion we had back the at the RBC Canadian so I didn’t really think about using him here on a shorter Par 70.

The enormity of how bad my LUs suck is driven home by the fact that my Happy Meal has only 1/6 members under a -1 cut line right now. A bunch are at or around that cut line, but Ryan Armor +2 and Spieth +3 are going to need miracles just to make the cut line, this blows

  • eperson911

Spieth and Armour are my two weak points too. I made one lineup, Putnam, Sugo and Leishman are looking good in it. I am hoping for that miracle!

That’s the risk I knew I was taking with Spieth, though. It was a trade off for the low ownership.

Sugo is really keeping me afloat on Yahoo at 0.6%

  • smallANDflaccid

My weak points seem to mostly be centered around every player I picked.

  • tristanwolf

anyone have am/pm numbers? announcers were saying there was no wind at all afternoon yesterday

  • shadowchap1978

Need KSDT… to get on the tracks today for any hope for 6/6

  • BrowInLockerRoom

Data golf has the projected cut as

    -1 30%
    -2 22%
    E 22%

Not quite sure how they come to that since it would mean there is a 30% chance its none of those.

Seemingly there is no way its +1 barring an unexpected hurricane coming though, so they are basically saying also a 30% chance its lower than -2 even thouhh they have -1 as the most likely.

    Yesterday’s numbers from Datagolf:

    Morning: +0.22
    Afternoon: -0.94

    Front 9: -0.35
    Back 9: -0.01

Overall course played at -0.36 strokes under par which if duplicated would mean the cut staying at -1.

  • lfn1992

Spieth opened his campaign with a very rusty 3-over 73 at Waialae Country Club, low-lighted by the fact he made just 33 feet, seven inches worth of putts.

As the afternoon wave headed out on the course, Spieth was trending to losing nearly three strokes on the field in Strokes Gained: Putting.

well done, although I think Svennson regresses to normal, he was definitely the best golfer out there Thursday.
