Who are all the Touts and Podcasts on ? I don’t listen to or follow any of them and am only asking to see where some ownership spikes and surprises might be.

Each week I have a pretty good gauge on 95% of the field for ownership but there are always a couple guys that I think I’m gonna get at 5% or 10% and they end up 21% or the last guy I drop from my pool because I think they’ll be 18% and they end up being 8%

If I had to guess: Conners, Niemann, Poston? Maybe Griffin minus the chalk factor.

A buddy of mine texted me this morning and said Kisner was 50/1. Assuming he’s a favorite on the betting market.

    Thanks

Like Kisner and I could also support playing any of the first four you mentioned as well – Figured they’d all be popular as they played last week and that is a popular angle for people thinking they have knocked rust off and were already in Hawaii so travel issues regarding jet lag or time changes to deal with

Does Pat Mayo know his stuff? His voice use to annoy The hell out of me but he seems like he knows his golf ? Or am I just way off?

Yah he’s ok based on the 17 minutes a year I listen to him – I like Wiley too who I’ve probably watched 35 minutes of over the past year

I’m surfing Twitter for random info – here are a few of my finds:

Top 6 in sg putting on Bermuda
Burns, Malnati, CH3, Poston, Webb, and Pat Perez

    —-

    77.96
    77.2
    77.7
    78.2
Those are Jared Sawada’s avg scores from his 4 yrs at the University of Hawaii…his best ever finish in college..25th…he couldn’t crack the starting lineup his senior yr except for 3 events..

He just Mon Q for his 2nd straight Sony Open and 4th time overall

Try to stay away from listening too much to the touts, but I did find this interesting from Noto..

“The past 6 winners have all played the previous week (TOC) and 15 out of the past 21 winners played the previous week”

He’s not really factoring that into his picks (he says “trends are made to be broken”), but he is factoring in extra ownership for the players who did play last week.

EDIT: he did mention the fact that all the podcasts/touts he heard this week are all referencing this statistic

Not sure if you’re into these guys, but if you want lower owned plays in upper $ area, it will be Matsu, Leish, Ancer, Noren.

I did notice a lot of the RG guys are on everyone’s favorite KSDT this week (Squid – Kyle Stanley Death Train). You guys have scared the hell out of me wanting to play him, so I’m probably staying away.

Yah the Google sheet guy Mike says that on the “Course” tab about recent winners coming from the previous week’s field

Probably going to only have one of those 4

Haven’t built a lineup yet – that’s what Wed nights are for – but starting to narrow down my player pool (that’s what Tues nights are for).

I feel like all of my early “likes” are either going to be 15-22% owned or 0.2% to 2.0% owned. I have a couple of guys that some of you will be asking me “how did you find him” if they pan out or else I’ll be asking myself “what was I thinking”. 😂😂

  • lfn1992

Is this the week where Leish cares? Because if he cares he could T10. But I don’t know if he cares.

I was scrolling thru some of the DK contests. Not really great. I know the bigger the tourney the better the contests, but these seem weak-
The $33 Single Entry was the most appealing- Don’t they offer a $3 20 entry max ? I could have missed some.

  • Jeddy3

    @squidkill said...

    Not really great.

They are running the 20 max $3 birdie this week. I just hate that all their gpps are 1.5x or 1.67x min payout. 2x for low stakes should be the norm.

  • squidkill

    @Jeddy

Thanks- didn’t see it – I did notice the $33 min payout is $50. That stinks

I don’t know how I did it, but I have an even split of AM and PM golfers. Is anyone seeing any weather advantage with waves?

Pat Mayo is good at what he does. Meaning he is a good at putting out content and explaing things in an easy to understand format. He’s good at giving you an overview of the field. He’s good at being the “devils advocate”. He’s good at interviewing his guests (although the vast majority of the time his guests just go along with what he’s saying). However by his own admission he is not good at dfs golf and while hes had a few hits while golf betting, i dont think hes particularily good at that either.

My best advice is to do your own research. You’ll probably eventually want to buy a sub to a stat site if you get serious about golf.
