I was scrolling thru some of the DK contests. Not really great. I know the bigger the tourney the better the contests, but these seem weak-
The $33 Single Entry was the most appealing- Don’t they offer a $3 20 entry max ? I could have missed some.

The contests aren’t great this time of year due to NFL playoffs and the sites wanting their player liquidity being used on football, but as soon as the NFL season ends the golf contests get a good amount bigger and they usually offer a few better structures

Prize pools and the number of contests should go up in 2 weeks after football gets down to 2 teams and Rory/Tiger start playing – we are still kind of in “2nd class citizen” season with DK trying to rape us of our last NFL dollars.

The $12 single entry was ok – only 1.5x min cash but pays 22ish% of field with 10% or $2500 up top for 1st

The Pat Mayo rake free $15 3-max is still the best offering (it’s full already and was 1500 entries so hopefully it grows to 2K or 2500 spots); Wiley has a Golflandia rake free $5 contest as well and I think there are a couple other podcast sponsored ones as well.

I don’t know how I did it, but I have an even split of AM and PM golfers. Is anyone seeing any weather advantage with waves?

I am toying with the idea that maybe AM/PM wave might catch a break if there is a stoppage of play on Friday with the increased chance of rain. Which “might” push that wave into Saturday morning on a soft course with less wind.

    It’s a big IF though.

Ok so this is for my work league. Please give me your top 6 golfers of the week that fits and makes my lineup the best. If you can, please choose golfers from Philadelphia. Go Birds!!

    who am I?

Question for you, Deebo Samuel: I just made a showdown lineup on DK for round one. Then I tried to edit one of my full event lineups to have the same players, but I didn’t have nearly enough salary. Why is that?

Interesting read on recreational golf and company’s claims being made. (https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/28411127/introducing-small-group-trying-take-change-golf-equipment-industry). Think I’ll be buying me some Kirkland (Costco) balls!

Also reminds me of the “hole in one” My Name is Earl episode.

AWESOME. I hope has some expertise in photoshop.

Anyone have interest in Kelly? His price really opens up some lead dog opportunity.

Hey guys, new blog post is up for this week. It’s a short one to start since I have no results from last week to review, but made some tweaks to the structure so that I can hopefully keep it going for the season.

What’s everyones take on leaving salary on the table in golf given scoring isn’t as directly correlated to salary as in other sports?

You shouldn’t worry at all if you’re leaving 1k or less on the table as none of the sites pricing is so efficient that you always need to be ‘upgrading’ but more than 1k and I can usually find at least one swap I like more with the extra salary. In general most of my lineups will end up with less than $500 leftover but it shouldn’t bother you to leave more

    leaving salary on the table

If you leave $200+ on the table it reduces your odds of being duped significantly. Winning is cool, but winning solo is EVEN cooler!

Not sure what to do with JT this week. Wasn’t at the top of his game last week but you could tell he really wanted it. Now some pressure will be off his shoulders could see him taking it easy this weekend. To me Reed seems like the better guy to spend up on.

Should get bigger once the fields get better and football is over

I wonder how hot Reed will run given his playoff loss last week, especially considering his playoff putt was dogshit…

Seen this dude break clubs over his knee after blading a chip shot. He could be in a bad place

Wait, scoring is closely related to salary in other sports?

  • Dewoc19

idk why but this wind has me hot an bothered…. golf shouldnt be played in wind, i know i personally despise playing golf on very windy days

  • JdotBrone

Reed was as locked in around the greens as Ive seen anyone in a while. He’s gonna have to drive it better to have a shot this weekend but I feel like he’s in for a big year.

He’ll be fine. He has that same Brooks Koepka alpha dog thing going; he’s just not as likeable and is a fat-ass. Mentally-speaking, though, I think he cruises along pretty well. If I recall correctly, that broken wedge was on his 72nd hole, so he knew it was over, was handed another wedge, finished the tournament, and moved on to better days.

First instinct was to just throw out there Raymond, but nobody knows where he went Deebo!

I’d say so, to a certain degree. Take McCaffrey for instance, he’s much more likely to be in the 25+ point range, more consistently, than someone in the 5k or 6k range.
