I can almost guarantee that the stats for him on par 70 are not statistically significant. I will run a test if you want me too.. I will calculate the p-score for Hadley compared to the field average par 70 to see if it significant data within 5% confidence intervals?? That is a fairly common confidence interval

I am leaving for the astros game here in a bit so might not finish it beforehand but if not I will post the results around 11 pm tonight regardless of if I am right or wrong but I definitely feel like it is not significant

I will try to prove the null hypothesis wrong with a one-tailed t-test. If I can NOT prove it wrong then I am correct but if it is proven false, you are correct

I think a better comparison to run on Hadley would be difficult vs easy courses….he has feasted on the easy courses for the most part of his career while struggling on the difficult courses. Perhaps the more difficult are par 70 but he has never made a cut at a major, struggles at TPC Southwind, Innisbrooke, PGA National.

I’m not playing Hadley in any situation he’s dead to me. He’s stinking up an entry thats 120th in the $44 Twirl right now.

He’s OK on a Par 72 where SG-APP is important and there are scorable Par 5’s.

@timgodd375 – with the nut-punch there. If you don’t like me, ignore me

EDIT: Then I look at his Happy Meal LU and there’s Chesson. Dude, just call me out for that shitty Webb play. DM me if you want to throw a bone on the next Par 70. Chesson > Webb… zip, Zip will still take JB though

I suppose I’m the bitter one so I apologize. I enjoy a civil debate. Would honestly love to see the algorithm results. Just don’t hate on everything I say, man. I’m weak :/

you guys ever hedge? i’m still 2nd in the $20 scramble and pretty much a lock for a t5 but the difference is 150 vs 750 for first. the guy ahead of me, we both have casey watson, grillo, but he has berger, henley, hossler, vs my harman, streelman, knox and the 2 guys close behind me have similar with cantlay and bryson. so my thought is do i make a few showdowns with the guys i don’t have (i would still root against them but if they did do well, it might mitigate some of the money if i didnt stay near the top). i was thinking like 10 lu’s in the $3.

or screw it and just yolo for my guys?

Who the hell are we playing tomorrow in the showdown?

  • redsox024

LineupHQ is still offline for Round 4 Showdown!! Unacceptable that a pay site like RG can’t even handle making lineups for an increasingly popular slate. When is it no longer offline? Midnight?

You can just make it by hand. I don’t have Premium Service, so I just do it by hand anyways. I think if you do it by hand, it’ll help because maybe you can think about the process a bit differently than have the lineups generated for you.

Next Par 70, you take Hadley, I take JB for a $100. Run your algos

I haven’t really caught up with this thread, but what was the original argument between Hadley and Holmes? I thought both were bad at par 70s, so that’s why I’m confused on why there’s an argument between Hadley and Holmes and the references to p-tests. I have no idea what a p-test is anyways. I thought it was a t-test and p-values.

I do as many as I can by hand. But it’s tough to make 40. And regardless it should at least be an option.

casey sb a lock. 4 shot lead and 4th in 4th round scoring. bubba the course horse. harman and hossler for putting even though ill be rooting against hoss. then some flyers.

He will get the position points and hes a lock for at least three birdies. That’s Darn near 50 DK points 17.5+15+18-5.4. That’s around 44 DK points at E with a win under the assumption three pars/bogies.

How many of those 4th round scoring did he have a 4 stroke lead after round 3?

  • noddy

I could be wrong but it seems to me that the leader after round 3 hardly ever widens his lead. Their entire mentality changes and they play not to lose instead of playing to win.

  • noddy

Somehow I’m in 70th place in the Euro 5k par 5 with all my golfers left

What about all the guys that are going to get 6-7 birdies.

i could understand that with a rookie or someone who hasn’t won but he’s 40 and has been around the block pressure wise. he has a lot of 4th rounds in the 60’s on his euro tour victories. i don’t see another 62 but a 66,67 sb enough to secure the victory and this is a very scorable course.

If you count guys tied or solo leading after R3, pretty much all the winners in the last month have had huge R4s.
