How does datagolf.ca get the US Open strokes gained data….

I cannot get my usual data on players stats and where the hell can I get eag/bir/bog/pars.

it must be a usga thing because all the sites I have used none have the info for this year or last.

  • Pitch120

Id go morning wave…east coast morning dampness bring soft greens, afternoon firmness.

    Fire up the AM guys

  • Pitch120

Ive played that course a few times. The Friday mornings typically are calm, afternoons Friday bring NE cross winds that are really confusing from holes 6-13

    Go AM wave

Good luck to you also Tim. I understand the advantage is supposed to be tomorrow but now there is really no advantage right? Or maybe a slight advantage? There were a lot of people here who made lineups or changed players because of the advantage there was supposed to be tomorrow and now there is really no advantage. I’m just annoyed that I changed things for this big advantage we were supposed to have. Am I the only one who’s annoyed? I’ll shut up about it now. Good luck everyone. May all your players make the cut.

But it’s the weather. We all know, or should know, that forecasts aren’t set in stone.

It looks like there is still a marginal advantage for Friday afternoon, but less than what was anticipated.

When setting lineups based on the weather forecast 24 or 48 hours before that weather, one is simply playing the probabilities that that same weather will remain.

No one should be surprised when it changes, though some disappointment is fair if one changed ones’ lineups dramatically in anticipation.

I think much of the weather talk is useless. Many of the guys were over compensating for the wind. The course is the problem. One mistake is an easy triple bogie. The greens don’t hold, some bunkers are killer, The rough is another Killer and many missed greens end up with chips you can’t even see the pin. To shoot par on this course you have to be razor sharp and a good amount of luck. (IE. DJ’s chip in out of the bunker).

Out of the T36 players only FIVE were negative strokes gained approach today….DJ, Noren, Axley, Gagne, and Naegel. DJ better start bring the irons because his putter and short game can’t carry him all four days, +2.95 around the green and over 4 putting…..other notables over two strokes gained around green include Piercy, Hoffman, Dufner, Rafa, Louie, Finau, Tiger and Day…

Over 4 SG Putting PLUS he holed a bunker shot !

Am I the only one rooting for Russell Henley

He also has +3 SG: Search Party.

USGA owes that to DJ though, they have screwed with the guy too many times in the past

Can I use it on Scott and Phil? Lol

The only wind forecast I care about is the one where Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau make the cut

To me the key for tomorrow is, which golfers will adjust the best after playing this devil course once?

they pull it from the scorecards that the PGA tour keeps using the shot link data. You can look at them yourself if you go to the leaderboard on pgatour.com and click on a player then click full scorecard. they just have some way to pull it all and consolidate it

Grillo my lowest but lord know tomorrow. Can’t wait to watch

  • Giez

Ha, my “alternate DK” team I put on FanDuel had 16.2 points… if THAT ain’t comical….

  • Giez

I could not stay away from the current form of my golfers, so that’s how I picked my Single Milly team. I damned the wind. Rory F’d me around the Masters so no Rory, I just don’t like Day, and watching him and DJ at Erin last year walking around it’s easy to dismiss Day. He doesn’t want it bad. DJ is healthy and hopefully stays the course and I gave him a chance. Love Rose and RCB. Stricker just does it, old mans golf and Thurston Howell III … just nice work lately… Grillo just good form lately and he will find it tomorrow. A lot of the other guys mentioned like Fleet… just not comfortable. My .02

I have no reasonable reason to believe this, but I believe Jon Rahm will somehow, some way, make this cut.

Not bad at all. I got my first smartphone last October — hand me down iphone from family member. It’s main use is for wasting time, but sometimes I use it to tether my laptop to internet

I hope your right for both our sakes. Just don’t see anyway he makes the cut unless it moves to +10 unfortunately. Maybe we get lucky. I figure almost everybody that is +8 or worse playing in the AM wave are likely out, but I hope to be wrong.

i can’t wait to see how the big name players react to bad rounds. I’m inclined to think we could see some low rounds out of a few of them on Friday.
