Yes, Fourball today and Saturday. Foursome (every other shot + rotating tee shot regardless of who makes putt on preceding hole) Friday and Sunday.

I believe the alternate shot on Fri and Sun is one guy tees off odds and the other tees off on even holes regardless of who last putted out – the team predetermines who will tee off on each hole.

PGA Tour Leaderboard says guys are getting pars. DK is giving them birdies.

Combined ownership of every team in the $15 entry

You kind of have to laugh at how badly Wolff dragged down Morikawa’s ownership.

And I guess Willett did the same thing to Hatton.

I cant log in to Golf TV anyone have same issue?

This distribution is incredible. Loving the Rocco Mediate team at 5% with the bold play of the year

  • BrianVT

I might end-up winning more money from the Earth Day contest than anything else.

How is that different from what I said: “every other shot + rotating tee shot regardless of who makes putt on preceding hole”. In any event, I meant the exact same thing as what you said.

Definitely requires some strategy (deciding evens versus odds) for those teams like Duffner/Bozelli that have one guy who is great on approach and a bad putter and another guy who is weak on approach and a great putter.

Sorry – I thought I read “it depends on who last putted” the “rotating every shot” part confused me and I didn’t read it completely.

Yah the strategy is all about the Par 3’s and Par 5’s – which player has more off or even holes that fit their eye or shot shape off the tee. Also pin placements may play into this as well if one player hits a draw and other hits a fade as their stock shot.

Happy Earth Day, everyone, RG Forum gonna win some money, only question is who

  • hautalak

Apparently Party Marty/N. Taylor weren’t the pairing I thought they were. Kind of wish we had ST here so I could see how they’re messing up.

My only experience with TPC Louisiana is 2K and I thought it was “easy” haha

No worries. I’ve been known to complicate the wording of things. I’m no Hemingway.

I’m also terrible at retaining the distinctions between best ball, four ball, foursome, etc. without looking it up.

Think of fourball (best ball) as being four balls in play and you’ll remember the distinction with foursomes (alternate shot)

PGA leaderboard is acting odd as well. Giving birdies then changing to pars. And the Xander group currently says Birdie on 11 despite the shot-by-shot showing the ball in the hole in 5 (not watching so not sure what the truth is).

3 / 10 here. But I need Party Marty to get going. Come on Marty, it’s New Orleans. Party Town!

Deuce on the long par 3 after the bogey/par 5 par start. It’s a start.

  • lfn1992

The PGA Leaderboard in some cases seems to be double-counting birdies. Ex. If both golfers get a 4 on the Par 5 it’s getting counted twice

When I hear “best ball”, I think of captain’s choice where you both go take a shot from the best ball from previous shot, like is often done in the foursome shotgun fundraiser-style events that I occasionally play in.

  • cplatt87

The lack of a shot tracker killed what little excitement I had for this event.

Is that just essentially a two-man scramble? Scramble is the most common fundraiser/charity style play where I live. I agree that “best ball” sounds like it should or could mean what scramble actually is.

Yep, Scramble is what I’m referring to, which I think is also sometimes called Captain’s Choice. Each of those could be described to someone on your team who doesn’t golf much as “we all just go play from the best ball.”
