Does anyone else remember on fd when 360 took down a gpp and 300 cashed you on 50/50s with no problem? The acquisitions and trades for the year have unleashed craziness. When were there ever so many studs with 60 70 80+ fps scored on the regular? When did mid tier guys dropping 50 become common? Multiple times the winning gpp has been over 400 this year on fd and i cant remember 1 time it cracked 400 last season… maybe close cuz i know i had a 380 something last year but this year over 400 multiple times already. Its like every level of player went up by 10 points… Your value plays used to be sufficient with 6x or 7x now its like you need 9x or 10x on your value plays. Then your low to mid tiers no more 25 to 35 fps, now we need 40 out of those guys, high tier guys hafta be around 50 and the big boys at 55+. I know, guys with huge ceilings they do go off but maybe this year it just so happens they go off on the same night now… You can construct a solid cash lineup with no punts, hit 320 and not min cash, its crazy. I am not complaining I at least min cash on most nights but does anyone else feel there is a new twist on core selection?

Got a question about playing CASH. I’m strictly a GPP player but my bankroll is dwindling and I need to right the ship. I have recently entered some 50/50’s at about 10 dollars and everyone in there but me is ranked in like the Top 20. Would I be better off entering lower stakes 50/50’s to avoid the titans of the industry?

The titans are everywhere. I see several Rotogrinders pros in my 100-man $2 single entry 50/50’s everyday. There are probably more lesser experienced players the lower you go however.

Last night they said the league average scoring is the highest it’s been since 1992 -1993. Add that to the sites not really caring about pricing and you are going to get very high scores.

  • Njsum1

John Wall 75.5 dk points for 8700
Ersan Ilyasova 58.5 dk points for 4600
These dudes were Mega chalk. 40 and 30 percent in GPP, and I can only imagine how highly owned they were in cash.
So you got 134 points for 13.3K

Leaving 36.7k left for the rest of your lineup. GPP cash lines were between 290 and 300 yesterday. If you just got 4.3x (which is terrible) out of the rest of your lineup, you would have scored enough to min cash a GPP. Seems like things aren’t getting harder after all.

Yeah, I am starting to wonder if FD is being intentionally soft of the pricing. Especially after thinking about what crazypaul just said about how slow they are to adjust (which weve all known) while not messing with position eligibility. Making it easier for casuals to find enough info for the value plays to come in while still getting the fun of rostering 2-3 stars. It may be alot easier to get those people to want to keep playing if you are scoring 320-330 when you have always read that 300 is a good score even if it is now a min cash or bubble. Especially as they raise the shot to $4 and the slam to $30 more and more often and collect more rake they want people feeling like they are having fun but also scoring well enough that “tonight could be the night”
Again it is the same game for all of us and adjustments to philosophy around the higher scoring can be made in construction but I do wonder now if it is not more intentional than them not caring.

FD has nothing to do with Westbrook averaging a triple double or Ilyasova going off.

Looking at tonight, I’d think Harden is a fade. He’ll go for about 50 FD points which is not good value for a large slate. Anything under that, and he really hurts your GPP lineup.

I have to eat a little crow this morning since Holmes managed to make his way into a lot of winning GPPs despite once again still not reaching 28 fantasy points. As was mentioned earlier, it was more of a product of lower priced super chalk actually performing like chalk while the top studs also performed.

I could have had a good night if not for my overexposure to Rodney Hood who got injured and the fact that I fell for the Ibaka trap.

I got my friend to finally join fanduel on Monday. He enters a BEGINNER $5 50/50,scores 291 and doesn’t cash. Even the beginner contests needs 300 to cash.

Now I only play on DK, yet I’m assuming FD scores are generally higher than DK scores as you roster 9 players instead of 8, even though per player scoring is slightly lower (someone who plays on both sites can feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). How would 290 be a good score, even in a beginner contest, on a night where not only the chalk goes off, but almost any rosterable player delivered a solid performance? Explain to your buddy that although his score was decent, and may have cashed on another night, that he made a weak lineup relative to the happenings on the slate.

Sharpshooter last night, my highest score was 330.5 and didn’t sneak into the top 5000. Lowest score was 162. Basically using the same core of players, how does that even happen?

This is me. I NEVER break 300 and I play 3-5 lineups every night. WTF am I doing wrong??? I feel good about my lineup every night but then it sucks

  • PujolsJunkie

Scores weren’t so insane tonight lol

  • walkoff9

Chalk sure tanked tonight. Very low scores.

  • Njsum1

Last time I’ll post on this thread, yet as I said previously, scoring is totally dependent on the happenings of the slate, as evidenced by last nights low scores.

man I’m in the same boat.

  • tvsfrink

I don’t know why people get hung up on a specific score. 300, 320, whatever. The only score that matters is the one you need to make either

    1) Money

    OR

    2) More Money

  • pinstripeblue

agreed tvs….the cash line for most of my 50/50’s on tuesday was around 306…last night it was around 258….thats what happens when you have 4 major blowouts and an 87-77 game..so you cant use one number for every night
