    Hey everyone,

I’m excited to announce some additional enhancements to the DraftKings browser extensions that are available for anyone using the Chrome browser. Just like on FanDuel, you can now see the site margin and overlay calculations for the different contests in the lobby. Overlay can be displayed as a dollar amount or a percentage. These calculations are not available for contests that include ticket prizes, and overlay is only shown for the contests that are guaranteed to run.

    Margin

    Overlay

If you play multiple lineups on DraftKings, I think you’ll really like the final extension being rolled out. On the ‘My Lineups’ page you can now see your ownership exposure to an individual player across all of your lineups. Pay attention to the lineup status, as ‘New,’ ‘Upcoming,’ and ‘Live’ lineups are calculated separately.

    Player Exposure

Any of these new features can be enabled or disabled at any time by going to chrome://extensions and clicking on the ‘Options’ link underneath the ‘RotoGrinders – DraftKings Tools’ extension.

If you already have the ‘Rotogrinders – DraftKings Tools’ extension enabled in Chrome, just go to chrome://extensions to ‘Reload’ the extension and pick up the new features. If you need to install the RotoGrinders DraftKings extension, click here to get access.

EDIT: Firefox users, go here to get access.

If you have any questions or trouble, please let me know.

it may take some time to auto-update. you might be able to uninstall v0.8 and reinstall to get the updated version (1.0)

I assume you guys have cleared this with DK already, right? Don’t want to violate their “no scripting” policy inadvertently…

In addition, conduct that would be deemed improper also includes, but is not limited to:

    • Using automated means (including but not limited to scripts and third-party tools) to interact with the Website in any way (this includes, but is not limited to: creating a contest, entering a contest, withdrawing from a contest, creating a lineup, and editing a lineup);
    • Using automated means (including but not limited to harvesting bots, robots, parser, spiders or screen scrapers) to obtain, collect or access any information on the Website or of any User for any purpose.

Assuming DK has given this the rubber stamp of approval, thanks a ton!

Yes, we did get approval from DK as these features primarily display calculations that are made given data that is already available on the page. That said, if DK changes their mind and asks us to remove some or all of the features, we will comply with their request.

Yeah I don’t have it installed right now, but when I follow the link provided (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rotogrinders-draftkings-t/lokmacldfjfgajcebibmmfohacnikhhd) , I only see v0.8 in the store…

Looks like v1.0 is still pending publishing in the Chrome store. Sorry about that everyone. Usually the update goes live within an hour. This is a much longer waiting time than normal. I’ll keep you all posted about when the update goes live.

I’m seeing Version 1.0. in the store now. If you don’t have the RG Draftkings tools extension already, go to the Chrome store link at the bottom of the original post and you should be set. If you already have the extension, you’ll need to make sure you see Version 1.0. If you are still seeing Version 0.8, try uninstalling and reinstalling to pick up the latest version.

NValencia30 has been an awesome addition to RG! Thanks for this tool. I love the exposure percentage.

You guys need to make a firefox extension. Firefox is and forever will be the GOAT. I bet more DFSers use it than Chrome.

Seems like the percentages may be off for ownership exposure. Was just checking some of my upcoming contests and the numbers seem off.

  • Syko

~70% of people use Chrome, while ~18% of people use FireFox. I think you may be just slightly wrong.

Can you send me some more info with a screenshot? If you have ‘upcoming’ contests, those totals are separate from ‘live’ lineups or ‘new’ lineups. Also, if you have upcoming contests for different slates, there’s not a way to know for certain which slate a lineup belongs to, so multiple slates can be in the same bucket.

  • lilscrapnike

What if all the contests are upcoming but on the same slate?

Then the numbers should make sense, based on the total number of upcoming contests you have. Again, feel free to send me a screenshot to help troubleshoot this.

    Thanks! Some great tools here.

However as mentioned above, exposure %s aren’t working correctly for me. Can send specific examples if you want – at least in my case, simple checks like ctrl+f through upcoming lineups show slightly different #s than the extension.

EDIT: After reading some of the responses above, it sounds like exposures might be based on individual contest entries and not individual lineups? The numbers probably make more sense if that’s the case.

Hopefully this will clarify the player exposure numbers and how they are calculated: The numbers are based on your total number of lineups, NOT UNIQUE lineups and are divided into separate ‘buckets’ for ‘upcoming’, ‘live’, and ‘new.’ An easy way to check things is to look at a specific position and see if the percentages add up to 100% (+/- 1% due to rounding). For example, if I have 40 upcoming contests, but only 5 unique lineups, the percentages are based off of the total entries you have rostered a player out of those 40 contests, not out of 5.

This makes a lot more sense for percentages now. The tool is great but something that can be improved upon for future use is breaking down based on different contests for slates. For example if Im playing 500 H2H/double ups/50-50 on the same slate w/ one lineup and than have 20 unique GPP lineups the percentages don’t really tell the true story for your ownership since the 500 cash game lineups of the same lineup yo have skew everything.
