So basically in this event you really need to have all your players finish in the top 10 to even may hit the cash line is that a correct assumption? Because I am assuming if you play multi entry GPP’s the winning LU will be covered. Someone will probably have 1 thru 6. So maybe single entry tourneys are the way to go this week?

Look to America’s Hat, Corey Conners for some serious value….or even Chaz Howell, who is top 5 in Par 4 Performance. At 5K. Sure, he won’t win starting 10 back, but will rarely make a Bogey and rack up the points.

How could anyone economically make these changes for the game of golf? Redesigning courses for the 0.001% of golfers (I.e. tour pros) is not the solution. We either accept birdie fest type scoring, or simply adjust the par for each course. Get rid of the 510-570 par 5s that everyone on tour can reach in 2; those should be par 4s. Move up the drivable par 4s slightly to make them 250-275 yard par 3s. Everyone seems so stuck on a course having to be par 70-72; changing many of the tour rota courses to par 67-69 would solve the “birdie fest” convo without having to move any dirt or make the game even harder for the average amateur hack.

Impossible to economically change every golf course, that’s not what I’m saying of course.

However very possible to input this style on a number of courses on the pro schedule.

Rose and DJ, and guys who have the ability to gain strokes on the field, since Finishing Position is important. I think that JT is a fade at his price, because in theory, anyone can make up strokes on the field over 4 days. I would bet the field over JT winning. I think Cantlay is where you start, being he’s only 2 shots back to begin, and move from there. Guys who can shoot 66 or better (Fowler, Hideki, DJ) in multiple rounds have great value. Even Snedeker.

Brooks is my ride or die, so that’s where I will be starting. I don’t see how I don’t have DJ and Rose in there. I really like Hideki as well.

Yep. Starting with Koepka and Rose too. DJ seems underpriced but he has been really bad lately.

It might depend on ownership with DJ for me. If it’s ridiculous (which it definitely could be) then maybe I fade him.

Yeah I’m undecided of what I think DJ will be. In the end I think it’s about average to a little higher for those around him. Obviously going to be popular but I see people trying to “jam in” as much up top as they can so likes of Rose, Casey (maybe), Im, Ooz, and a few others being higher than him.

I decided not to do a PIG this week. Putting rules on the salaries doesnt seem realistic.
I will finalize the 2019 PIG standings later. I was a DQ last week, dont know if I am still in first. I have lost a lot of ground the last 2 months. which are the weeks that need to be updated.

Yeah it would be tough to do this week. I still say take a shot on it. Maybe just flat out “all the salary”. Either way it doesn’t really matter and thanks for doing these (even if we beat ourselves up over them sometimes lol).

Are the DK position points scoring the same this week?

  • BrianVT

How well do rookies typically do in the Tour Championship? Only Im this year.

Yes, JT in 1st starts with 30 points, and CH3 in 30th starts with 3 points.

  • BrianVT

I think ownership projections are going to be pretty tough this week since it’s the first of it’s kind (the points and the pricing structure).

Thank you! I figured just making sure!

Kind of sad for DJ to be priced lower than Rickie, but be starting one stroke better. I don’t think DJ has ever been priced lower than Rickie, even when they both start at E.

  • ValuableTrader

This should be an interesting week.

I like me some Cantlay, Rickie and Reed.

  • hautalak

I keep seeing Cantlay. Please guys load up on him! I just cannot come around to him and IMO there’s no way he stays in contention.

Need something like 334 entries to get the 9th level cut maker achievement, so I’ll be larding up on the dime times again. Probably make 20 LUs again.

I keep looking at Sneds with two T5 in a row and thinking, why not a third time?

  • byo34

Only making 1 LU this week. Decided not to take anyone in the 12k+ range. Probably going to bite me when they all finish 1 2 3 but oh well.

  • hautalak

Just thinking to myself here, anybody going to try and play this like a NASCAR contest? I know it’s a bit different but can apply some of the same sort of concepts.

    According to wikipedia:

“At the 2017 Tour Championship, Schauffele birdied the 72nd hole to win by one stroke over Justin Thomas, becoming the first rookie ever to win the Tour Championship. Schauffele’s win also marked the first time a rookie has won any FedEx Cup playoff event. The win moved Schauffele to third place in the final FedEx Cup standings, bettering the previous best mark by a rookie held by Jordan Spieth by four positions.”

I am 120 away from level 10 cutmaker for 25K crowns. Why do I feel DK will say this doesnt count this week? My plan is to go 1 LU in several Gpp’s and play enough dime contests to qualify.

I dont know if research is the answer. I have my favorites, gonna see if I can shoehorn a LU together. Skipping JT. Although he is one of the best playing with the lead. Cant believe DK went to 5K in salaries.

So what exactly are some things they could do to change this. His suggestion is to have less … straight driving holes where you have to draw it to get it in the fairway it looks like. If technology has made an over reliance on the driver which has become more forgiving so everyone just bombs away could we see more narrow fairways or thicker rough or both. Maybe all the greens can start being 20 ft high with a moat and castle walls around them lol … one thing is for sure … when there have been soft conditions these guys really do seem to tear up any course.

Closer out of bounds lines that punish bad drives ..

  • elmore0631

JT is priced this week like Tiger was when I first started doing DFS

  • Pbasniper

For those that care about random things like this there are 364,633 lineup combinations with salary constraints applied this week.
