I remain living in New York and unable to play on DK and FD, but I strongly feel that the Tournament of Shame should make a return to the fray.

  • FrancisBooth

Most of my recent mlb squads I have built would probably be in the money in a tourney like this.

  • maxeernst

    From what I remember:

If you win you get cash and some other form of incentives or something.

If you come last, the previous winner of the TOS (or Duckie maybe) assigns you a “shaming” (within reason) that you have to document. I think some examples were things like filming your own draftkings commercial, watching a shitty romcom and giving a professional review.

I’d be down for something like this!

While I am certainly happy to see this return, a few things:

    1. Getting enough people to sign up was a major chore, and because of the size of the tournament, it had to fill up completely to happen. That meant me bombarding the live chat a half-hour before lock, and if we got to 39 out of 40, no tournament. That happened a few times, at least.

    2. Getting people to pay off on their shames was also difficult – myself included (see list). Many people signed up for this, assuming they’d NEVER be at the bottom, then found out the…ummm…shameful truth. I was actually the loser of the T-shirt challenge, but was never able to get an image of DC for the contest.

We can do this again, but there will have to be someone to make sure the tourney is full, and the public will have to enforce that these things get done. Naturally, certain shamings can be done on Night Sweats.

I agree getting a bunch of people was a chore however I feel the DFS community has grown immensely since the last TOS. I don’t believe getting 40 people would be that hard. Maybe start it around 30 and see how fast it fills.

Not sure what you can do about people who don’t pay off their shames besides just keep bugging them. As defending champion (aka winner of the last TOS aka a title I just made up) I would love to see this return. Make it happen. #MakeDFSFunAgain

A request has been put into Draft Kings to set up a Tournament of Shame on July 22nd. Details to follow. The few who have fought for the TOS will be rewarded.

Have put a request in to my DK representative, waiting patiently. Will be putting up an article to go with the link, and I will put a link to the tournament up, as well.

Trust me, I’m getting antsy, too. I want to give enough time to fill the tourney.

Some great news! The return of the TOS will be this Friday, July 29th! Once salaries are locked, we will have a link.

Also, the tournament will be moving to FanDuel, and in celebration of this change, this week’s tournament will be rake-free! Forty spots will be available, and will only cost $5.

And the shame has been confirmed. Last place will have to do a full review of Kiefer Sutherland’s country music album, Down in a Hole, and do it on YouTube. You’ve been warned.

I just pulled in here out of curiosity; pulled up the link, and honest to God, instabtly’spit-took’ when greeted with the “Emily Dickinson Reading” ;”]. I dig whatever this is all about & am happy to help in any way I can. Cheers.

Hell; I have many of them already in the can. Should I fail to enter; I’ll send as consolation ante a link to my losing rend of “Go Cocks!” from The “Father’s Day Fight Song” video karaoke debacle at The CFB Hall O’Fame.

Thank you! We tend to have a lot of fun with these, especially when people get into doing the shames. The karaoke one was priceless.
