I’ve used NBA Fanduel since start of the season with this being my first year. I only play the bigger tournaments and I consistently place in the Top 1000/85,000 but I’m off 1st place by 20/40 fp every night. I do 4/5 lineups

    1) MPG and Highest variance lineups

    2) MPG, FPPM and opponents highest fp avg per player

    3) OT, High Variance and Best available

    4) Point Forecasting (I choose players who I feel can produce this line 50, 50, 40, 40, 30, 30, 30, 20, 20. 310fp

    5) 4 players under $4,000 who can produce 20fp and 5 highest season avgs with in salary.

Let me know what your thoughts are?

  • parisskysully

    2) Has had most success of these strategies.

Ex – Lakers surrender 40fp to PG’s, the opponent PG’s FP Avg per game is 25fp so the Lakers surrender 15fp on Avg above the opponents FP Avg.

  • onyxmeth

Can you clarify? I don’t know what you’re asking for.

  • parisskysully

I’m beating 84,000 players every night consistantly but I’ve peaked in the sense I finish inside of 1000 but am 20/40 fp off the lead. Why is this happening? I took Bledsoe over Derozen and I did it due to salary left over which is my biggest no no! I finished with 321 but if I had Derozen I’m at 349 which is top 100 I believe.

  • onyxmeth

Oh ok. You’re consistently hitting a 98% lineup on 5 entries a night. That isn’t a problem. It’s kinda silly to ask what’s happening when you’re creating that good of a hit. No one hitting that high has peaked. It’s just difficult to get the winning combination.

Only suggestion I suppose would be to try to figure on nights you create a top 1000 lineup, figure out how many additional lineups, more or less you would have needed to create to hit a top finish. Let’s say you go back and figure out if you put in 5 more lineups and would have ended up with Bledsoe. Then play 5 more lineups a night.

It is incredibly hard to place at the top of leaderboards with 80,000 entries. It takes both luck and some skill. As long as your consistently cashing, then your doing just fine. Keep plugging away and hoping one day you just nail that right combo of players.

  • parisskysully

I literally have shifted a player or moved some guys right out of big cashes but I’m just aggervated. I spent too much time in the $3500/$3900 range searching to 20fp which I usually do. I called my shot this month to win the big tourney so iI’m under pressure.

  • onyxmeth

Making a roster closing decision to go with player A or player B is an opportunity to create two lineups. Why bother wrestling between players like that? In fact, if you’re the type to tweak rosters late, run two or three lineup trains. That way you leave the original alone, and make your minor change to it’s doppelgänger.

  • parisskysully

Well in the beginning the salary would cause me to alter lineups because they use numericals as a second nature to spend “free” money. I don’t even look at it anymore. I’m still kinda tweaking formulas and how to apply them. I know what dollar amounts have the highest variance players I really learn new info every day.

In 1 and 3 when you are saying highest variance are you saying lowest floor highest ceiling? Why do you think #2 has had the most success? In #3 what is “OT” and also how would you divide this up for draftkings 8 players $50k cap? Thanks for your responses and posting this.

  • parisskysully

OT is the overtime scenario I have lineups that involve this possibly occurring. I do a 4, 3, 2 format so I have 3 groups of players with that potential. 2) Works because I go more in depth with variance stats. I could just yield the 7/8 highest players but if Dragic has high Variance but Chalmers was #1 in D which the players he covered would have less of a percentage to go 15+ over avg. So I do highest variance vs worst position.

  • parisskysully

It’s hard when the numbers fail you when a player just emotionally takes the night off and analytically he was a strong play.

Step 1 would be a more realistic assessment of how well you’re playing. Sorry, but I don’t buy that you’re finishing in the top 1000 of the shot every night, or most nights or even a consistent few nights. I’m guessing that you’ve had a week where it happened 2 or 3 times and you’ve extrapolated that to mean it “always” happens and always will.

Lets say for the sake of argument you are “always” in the top 1000. Then the next step would be to play for a lot more money, because you’re pretty much the best player out there.

  • parisskysully

Pretty pessimistic remarks considering if this was a court you’d have no evidence to support what I said was false therefore I’d be awarded the case. If you’d like to give me your email I’d 100% forward you my season results. Do yourself a favor don’t bark up this tree nor suggest I’ve lied about NOT WINNING. Orrrrrrrr if you’d like to go h2h for an amount you can select I can cover any amount we can do that.

  • rysportguy

You can try to start playing in 10X tournaments where top 10% get 10 times your money. If these lineups work in those contests you can make some nice money quickly. Also there are booster contests that give the top 1% around 100 times the buy in so look for those contests.

  • parisskysully

I’m going to increase my buy-in but not until I go through the learning curve.

I’m pretty sure he’s saying that he enters many lineups in GPP’s and one of them finishes near the top on most nights. Obviously anyone that enters only one lineup is not going to finish in the top 99th percentile every night.

Just as a heads up, you can link your Fanduel account with your profile, that way you can be on the site’s rankings. It would show your results.

He specifically said 4 to 5 lineups.

Fair enough. My second paragraph still stands. If you’re placing in the top 1.5% nightly on 4/5 LUs then why in the world aren’t you playing for more money? The solution is not winning the $2 shot it’s finishing top 20 in the Monster or top 10 in the Baller.

When you say that you “called your shot to win the big tourney this month” you come off as arrogant. You do realize there are probably 10 to 20K individuals in that contest all trying to win and many of them knowledgeable. It’s incredibly unlikely that ANY person will win that tourney in a given month.

Playing you head to head on a given night is meaningless. The fact that you don’t realize that only makes your claims more dubious.

Indeed, if you really want to see where you stack up against everyone else just link your Fanduel acct. Let your lineups do your talking…

I enter 4/5 lineups on the $2 tournament and play h2h this is by choice as I’m learning. The goal is to open up financially next season. I walked in and turned a profit from day 1. I’ve engaged with a person who has the mentality that if he can’t win at the rate I have then it is impossible! Fact is most of these guys don’t put the time in or even acquire the knowledge to play the game from the mathematical standpoint. I’m assuming if he uses words to describe himself they’re “I was” or “I used to” as usual I offer a blank check and they don’t cash it.

You probably should hope you never have to go to Court.

You would have a lot more credibility if as someone else suggested, you linked your FD account to your RG profile.

If you place as consistently high as you claim, then all you really have to do is wait, and the increased performance will come one day.

You do realize that you actually can click my name and check my highest scores right?

BTW courts use what is called a reasonable person standard. Just a fyi if you ever do need to go to court. Personal injury at the gym while getting portraits or something.

  • parisskysully

This is hilarious! I’ve been on this site for 5 hours and I said I consistently go deep into tournaments but can’t push inside 200. Now I have a few guys who should be setting there lineups or playing with there wife and kids but are inguaging me on a message board! @8mileallstar when you accuse a person of something it needs to be supported by proof or documentation not insecurity! The statement about linking accounts was made after and actually the first I knew of it. Seriously go set your lineups or call your family instead of talking shit with your keyboard. You have your little fantasy life and I have mine. I don’t argue on message boards I give advice and tutor. If anyone lives in Florida we can chat in person but just have your insurance up to date.
