So I am pretty sure that Tradestix and a_dreamystar are running a scooping script in 3-man FD contests (I only say “pretty sure” in the name of political correctness). If you would like the details as to how I know/think this, I would be glad to share but I didn’t want to be too long winded in my initial post.

Anyway, I contacted FD last weekend after it was going on for a few hours. I got the usual “we will look into it” response. I contacted them later in the night, and the rep gave me the usual spiel but volunteered that he noticed it too and would have engineering look into it. Finally, when it was still going on Sunday morning, I notified FD again. A different rep veered from the stock answer, talking about how some users could script with permission from the site.

Fast forward to now, and it is happening again. Anyone else effected by this? They grab every contest INSTANTLY as soon as the 2nd user joins, provided they are within the parameters of the script (I don’t know the parameters, I have 1280 wins total, 311 NFL, and a I get scooped).

So it is literally impossible to get 3-man action without them, unless you have x number of wins.

I thought even with the new policy for contest entry, automated scooping was against TOS? Regardless, this is unfair to those of us who greatly value game/opponent selection and choose opponents the legit way.

Im not convinced that FanDuel has the ability to actively monitor real-time automated fraud.

    So basically………

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    *****Edit*****

I know the above reply was a tad unprofessional, so I’d like to follow up and offer an apology to FanDuel if they’re willing to have a rep stop by and clear this up once and for all.

    Thanks!

This was an issue in the past. I can’t find the thread, but they suspended the people for about 3 hrs and then allowed them to play again. Even if people are allowed to use scripts is shouldn’t be allowed to take all action by monopolizing the rooms.

I am familiar with that thread. Although $2-$10 three-man’s are no longer an option (after 2 years of being my best ROI by far) I appreciate the fact that Tradestix and a_dreamystar are allowing me to play $1 contests. Thanks guys! And thanks to FanDuel!

And if you recall Tradestix was one of the offenders months back. I am glad to see that Fanduel’s “punishment” was so sever that he stopped….oh, wait. Nevermind.

A 3 hour slap on the wrist, back to auto-scooping. Great Job FD. Maybe you should spend some of that 20 mil a week advertising budget toward protecting users from violating your TOS?

Then again, looking the other way suits their financial goals and they’ve proven over and over that the bottom line is all they are concerned with.

I think allowing a user, the same user, to blatantly violate your TOS is unprofessional. It shouldn’t have to be RG members that bring this to the company’s attention. They should have a system in place to prevent such abuse.

In the end, if FD really wanted to curb this…they would. Period.

I was 100% sure tradestix ran a script to post MLB games. He’s always post 1 $1, 1 $5, 1 $10 and then if you took them and refreshed it’d immediately pop up with a new one.

That being said I never reported him as he was a mega whale at MLB so the more he plays the happier I am (of course I’m down more to him than almost anyone else in MLB but the variance :/)

They should probably spend their time figuring out how to make teams that are actually good than writing scripts.

  • flip4flop

I put up 30 $2 H2H and he instantly took 4 of them but not all.

  • dude_abides7

What’s the % chance that an FD rep will actually address this thread? How can they justify the fact that this guy’s account is still open for business when it has been brought to their attention multiple times over a 4 month period that he is/has been/continues to violate their stated TOS?

To be fair, I’ll do the same thing often, but I do it the “old fashioned” way. Not saying they’re using software again or not but all it takes is someone to sit there and take all of their action on one slate and they learn pretty quickly that its not always +EV.

That being said, the sites need to do a better job ensuring that lineup information is protected. Not saying they don’t do it behind the scenes, but they need to put it out in the open. The main reason DFS critics don’t like it is because they don’t understand it. The second reason is because they think its shady. I really wish the sites would do more to make everyone feel better about the second reason.

    This this this this this

A 3 hour ban? Is that some kind of joke? What was that suppose to accomplish?

The abuser in question auto-scoops at all hours, day and night. I think we can conclusively deduce he personally is not sitting there clicking the refresh button.

  • CrazyGabey

We would just like clarification please FanDuel.

  • kdriskell311

All of these negative “cheating/scripts” posts are really making me rethink playing DFS.

  • Nodivision

This is like déjà vu with poker. Can’t tell you how many times I ran across elaborate bots on Party Poker, and how long it took the poker sites to respond.

poppaspicks- I do the same thing. I hang out in the 3-man lobby in half hour or so intervals throughout the weekend, constantly refreshing and ready to scoop. When 1 user is entered I already know their data and wait for the second to enter. As soon as they do, I click the contest, scroll over the second user with my chrome extension for their win total, and if I am satisfied, I enter. It takes 5 seconds.

I’m telling you this is not that. With these scripts, I literally don’t even have time to click on the the contest, let alone check the second user. As soon as this second user enters, the game is gone. I know it is tradestix and a_dreamystar because I did several experiments where I was the second user.

I did not start this thread lightly. I waited a week after dealing with it all last weekend. This will greatly affect my bottom line. I have always been a ardent FanDuel supporter but now I am pissed.

  • hendry

there isnt really a debate is there? this has been going on with same users forever. they’ve already been “banned” for a couple hours, fanduel clearly doesnt care.

  • tyrant1014

I dislike that a lot, I remember that thread. The rules to us “Regular Folk” if we ran auto scooping software we would get banned for life.

    Glad to see that
    A. They make rules they can’t enforce
    B. They arbitraily enforce the rules… provided the individual being banned won’t hurt the income from the rake

Sounds like the police where I’m from.

I posted my first H2H last weekend on a $1 game and guess who I ended up playing…a_dreamystar! I was scooped instantly.

Fanduel – Are you listening? Can we get clarification please?

This is not a matter of IF these accounts are doing what is described. They are, everyone knows it including FD but they choose to be slow or completely negligent of the issue.

This is not rocket science. A simple back-site ping data report would show instantly the pattern to which these games hit the lobby and then are scooped. It would take seconds to ascertain said users are violating FD’s TOS.

YOU SAID you would have ZERO TOLERANCE for H2H auto-scooping scripts and that the violators would be dealt with. We know that site reps have seen this thread as they monitor all the threads on RG. Crickets…that’s what we get.

    FantasyHub Site Rep

Just to chime in here on the debate of pro vs. anti scripts.

I am proud to say that at FantasyHub we dont allow any scripting to be done and in fact put checks and balances in place against scripts.

We are looking to build a community of players on an equal playing field where everyone has a fair chance of winning and even casual players feel like they can compete.

As another data point for yall, one thing that would be good for yall is thinking about joining FD and DK contests early in the week if you want to avoid scooping. The earlier in the week you join the more I have seen chances of getting casual/average players in the game vs the sharks.

Just my two cents though! Wishing everyone luck today!

This would be great, but how specifically do you ensure this? Limit multi-entry? Daily contest limit? No scripts?

Thanks for chiming in on this. I’m very disappointed with the Draftkings/Fanduel reaction to these issues recently coming to light and am looking to move my action to another site.

  • dude_abides7

Tick Tock Tick Tock…Hello Fanduel? Are you there?

We’d love some clarification on what you plan to do regarding the two FD members published in this thread and the H2H auto scoop issue in general? If you could take a few seconds away from counting your coin it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Fanduel will always hide behind their corporate chairs and not address what really matters. Plain and simple fact is they will protect the players that play a high volume. Corruption at the top at it’s best.
