Ugh. Wrong quote. I meant to quote Macktyson who said I was an hour late. I’ll get a hang of this at some point.

Too much money for the players to cancel … just my opinion … if they cancel now, they will likely have to cancel the whole season.

Guess there’s nothing to do but wait until 2pm. I think they cancel because the CT governor will pull rank.

I live in CT and I highly doubt he will cancel the tournament.

  • bigez952

Everyone on the inside is stating they have no plans to cancel this week so the event will go on unless as LFN predicts someone like the Governor steps in and says they can’t.

You can’t cancel a spectator-less golf tournament while Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are wide open. We need to get past the fear. That should be the next “phase.”

I don’t believe in the too much money to cancel thing. They basically cancelled the entire country and there’s a lot more money involved there.

Irony will be if he wins it.

you are telling me someone can’t pay for these caddies to have their own room and meals delivered right now?

    economics

154 golfers and 154 caddies. We talk about 50-70 golfers here.
I know the golfer who doesnt make the cut gets $0 for playing (you cant think the caddie makes much more). What about the golfer who hasn’t made a cut in a long time.

Who would pick up all those tabs by all those who are making poverty wages in the PGA? Someone can easily pay for it but I cant help but thinking of Kuchar who wanted to stiff the Mexican Caddie because he could. I am waiting for the Caddie’s Lives Matter protest.

They can’t go through the expense of putting on an event if there is a possibility of a last minute cancellation because of a couple positive tests.

How to deal with positive tests are part of every re-opening plan. They aren’t going away anytime soon.

We either need to accept that there will be positive tests (everywhere) going forward and continue with our lives, or just shut everything down. Until there is a vaccine (and to be honest I wouldn’t want to be first in line for that one), we won’t be able to just tip-toe around this thing. It has to be one or the other.
I am in the “open everything up” camp, and I say that while being sympathetic to those with depressed immune systems. My mother was diagnosed with glioblastoma a few years back, and her immune system was significantly depressed with her treatments. We had to wear masks and be very cautious about her surroundings, but that was our responsibility. You will never get healthy, asymptomatic individuals to comply completely without a total shutdown.

As far as DFS goes, it really makes 4 day golf tourneys an uneasy play. It’s one thing when Watney WD last week at E after Day 1, although it’s plausible he could’ve gotten into the weekend. It’ll be another thing if you have a guy in contention and has to pull out due to his daily temperature test although he feels fine.

So about those gophers: I had one Koepka lineup out of 14. I’m turning it into a Morikawa + all midrange lineup. Collin was a letdown on Sunday, but I don’t see this as a reason not to go back to him.

He was a disappointment on Saturday AND Sunday, trust me I know.

  • NDNole

Introducing………………….Tournament cancelation sweat. The sweat before the sweat.

For the record I dont see them shutting it down this week.

  • mitchsnyderdfw

Not sure if this was earlier, but I heard Putnam is out as well. Local radio mentioned it, don’t have an electronic source.

  • badtrip

I knew there was a reason I always wait til the last minute to shop, clean, and make DFS lineups. The tour seems to have done a good job with the protocols, the show should go on. I think we NEED golf because I don’t see how MLB and NFL are not going to turn into a train wreck.

  • noddy

Why not enter the step 4 contest on DK (need 2 more for it to run) while we wait to see if there’s golf?

  • depalma13

Simply no way the Governor can order the tournament shut down, not as long as any other business in the state remains open.

  • XxHeisenbergxX

I go grocery shopping so I can eat and I come back to a possible cancellation???? OK all seriousness I will say this..there is concern in CT I am a dealer at Encore in Boston and we still haven’t opened yet..I have friends that deal at Foxwoods and there are rumors of them closing again amongst the dealers. The tribes had a mandatory meeting I think yesterday if I am not mistaken..so its wait and see.

As we all know, the PGA isn’t a multi-million dollar business with lucrative sponsorships worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Also, as we all know, most of the people who support and follow the PGA are not members of the 1%, either.

Just to be clear, I think we’re on the same page here lol

If caddies are the issue, carry your own bag boys. You want that check, let’s flex some muscle to get it and be all the safer for it.

What are people thinking about Abraham Ancer? He got a big bump in DK salary from 8,000 to 9,000. Worth it or no?
