    I’m actually a high-IQ genius

Oh yea, well I have many leather bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Veering back to golf…just mass swapped my Broogsy shares to Cantlay…gonna take a more nuanced peak later, not sure if I can have faith in Cantplay with nothing recent to go off other than the nice Rd. 1 at the Players…

Webb and Koepka part of pga tour live featured groups. Is there an alternate field, or will they do a mini repairing?

Hey guys – quick non-DFS note on this week, I wanted to share something on this page. I host a Connecticut sports podcast and am running a campaign to help increase donations for this year’s tournament charities. With no fans that means less $ going back to the communities here in Connecticut the tour usually supports. To help raise $ I’m walking 4 miles/day during the tournament dates – the 4 miles is about the length of TPC RH. Any donation you might be able to make would be extremely appreciated. You can donate here: gf.me/u/ybba5n. Thanks all and good luck this week! Looking forward to a great tournament.

Enough already guys. I am not a mod so I can’t delete any conversations but hear this: People are going to disagree on things of this nature. Arguing your side against theirs is 100% not going to change their mind. So why waste the time and energy. How about we get this forum back to what it is known for. Great golf talk and an ESCAPE from the other world issues at hand, where there will be controversy among us. There are reddits for that.

    Thank you for listening.

Certainly unlikely to convince the people spouting the insane BS, but there are others who may not be as informed who read these things, and it’s for those people that conspiracies and unscientific screeds must be rebutted.

One reason we are in this mess is because one party inexplicably decided to downplay the seriousness of the virus from the outset. This never should have turned political. We should have faced it united and certain about how serious it was. Now, the simple act of wearing a mask has become political. It is the number one thing we should all be doing to hinder the spread and avoid the prospect of another lockdown, and it is by far the least intrusive measure.

In any event, as for golf content, I’m sad Webb withdrew, because I was fading him completely.

Asymptomatic transmission is a myth and has not been proven scientifically. Even the WHO admitted this, before censoring their scientist who said it. It doesn’t exist outside the margin or error for the studies, and therefore is literally unprovable. Yet the media and certain governors are pushing it strongly.

Your interpretation is the reason the WHO sought to clarify those remarks. You made the incorrect assumption that only those showing symptoms are contagious. In reality there is a third group, the pre-symptomatic, who are indistinguishable from asymptomatic folks and yet are highly contagious.

    That is true.
The problem is that people keeps confusing opinions with facts.

ie: the earth is round = FACT….. the earth is flat = WRONG (not an opinion, just wrong)

“and Flat Earthers are animals” is still not a valid response

Or he might run away from it if he’s worried about COVID.

So once the pissing match is complete I have a serious question…will they test all golfers before teeing off? If so what would the deadline be to WD? Or are they just going to test everyone throughout the day and evening today?

I am going to assume golfers with wives and children will be discussing options tonight on whether to play?

You Know I never heard of a false positive being an issue.

Unless you got confused about the false negatives the testing people were reporting in a large percentage.
    Or I am wrong.

Not confused. Tests have both a false positive rate and a false negative rate. Of course, false positives can be mitigated by simply testing the patient again. We don’t know if the PGA is doing that or not.

False positive estimates range from “very small” to 20-30%, depending on the test. For some reason, getting the exact numbers is very, very difficult on Google

The WHO’s original statement on that was nonsense and everyone knew it.

Asymptomatic transmission is also a common feature of many like-viruses, so there is no reason to think it wouldn’t be with this much more highly infectious one.

There are also a litany of stories of spreading infection that appear highly likely to have originated from an asymptomatic individual.

It is much likelier than not that asymptomatic transmission is a huge concern, if not proven.

Im sure youve seen those flat earthers who do “experiments” only to be shown the earth is not flat. Yet they remain flat earthers. So what are they if not animals. Hell even animals learn when presented with factual information. Same applies here.

In a higher-stakes (50.00 and above) Single-Entry, do you guys prefer a more-balanced lineup or more SnS with more potential win-equity? Curious on everyone’s thoughts.

ALL players and caddies have been tested as they register (check in) so most on Monday and some on Tuesday.
