Question for the statistical guys, and I might be way off base here.

But if SG ATG is basically measuring the value of an “Up and down” from ATG but without the putt…

Then why wouldn’t we just throw SG ATG out and immediately look at

Scrambling which measures an “Up and down” including the putt?

Is it bc the up and down on scrambling may come from anywhere on the course as opposed to around the green?

Scrambling only counts from around the green as well but most people don’t want to including putting stats as much in their models because it has a lot more day to day and week to week variance than just around the green does. So if you prefer having putting in there use scrambling or if you think putting is pretty random for most players then use SG: Arg

For those scoring at home, ESPN and ctvnews both reporting that Koepka’s caddie was tested again after his positive test and tested negative. Science used to call that a false positive. No matter now, as the media has already gotten their story and the GMac quote that said the problem is “snowballing”. One rag said the PGA tour was “rocked” by CV positives. Seems like we’re only looking for positive results at this point, whether or not they’re legit.

Final pool done. 37 golfers. Last 2 out were Sergio and Cantlay.

Decided to go heavier on Rory and DJ after the Koepka and Webb news. Feel like Cantlay will be way over owned. Pounding Sungjae Im, Woodland and Finau in the mid-$8ks.

    Good luck everyone!

I’m going to MME for the first time. My first go through, I have 44 players in my pool. Is that too many? Just looking for feelers.

44 is probably okay if about 10 of them are less than 5%. Meaning, your real core is much tighter, but you maybe need to sprinkle some long shots to get the numbers to work out for you.

Any thoughts on Tyler Duncan after two straight top 40s?

Also how would you compare him to guys like Garnett, Michael Thompson, and Hubbard in terms of most likely to least likely to make the cut.

He’s in my pool. He plays well on these short par 70 tracks. Shot -8 in round 1 and 2 and slowed down after that but for a dumpster dive you can do a lot worse.
