DK have been running a lot of inter-league slates recently which is great, and hopefully will push more people into the soccer contests. I feel like the midweek fixtures for the Champions League have always been their best bet for attracting new customers, so they have decided to run a Valentines Special this week for the UCL games.

    Slate (Split over 2 days):

    Feb 14th
    Benfica V Borussia Dortmund
    Paris Saint-Germain V Barcelona

    Feb 15th
    Real Madrid V Napoli
    Bayern Munich V Arsenal

Some great games on this slate, and this is the stage of the UCL which is the most entertaining to watch IMO. With Barcelona playing away at PSG, that game will be great to watch but also provide the biggest decisions from a DFS standpoint.

CR7 being priced at $10.9k will obviously be the other decision.

Interesting take… Hopefully that is the case. I can see a scenario where a lot of fish see the green check marks and stack the crap out of today’s games. Hopefully that is what happens. I just see Bayern/Madrid going off tomorrow.

I also don’t know how much Madrid will go off. They have goals, yes, but Napoli will attack.

Hey, that’s great. If Napoli wants to try and go at Madrid, then so be it. Makes it the game more open. Certainly better than if they were playing conservatively for the draw.

Talk me out of Cavani/Trapp today

  • afcangelo

Barcelona. Should be good enough lol. I mean in theory it could work but this Barcelona side is just time and time again just a machine in UCL. In fact, Ter Stegan could have big upside here at historically a low ownership

What I need to be talked out of is Andres Iniesta at a cut rate 5500 on DK for a starter who potentially score or more than likely assist on a goal.

That said, I’m not thrilled about this match as a whole for this slate, but even saying that worries me

What is going on at FD? Am I missing something or is Pizzi not even listed in the slate?

Ed: nm., I don’t know why he didn’t come up on my search but there he is, as a F.

  • TurkishDelight

He is there as a forward. Speaking of which, am I crazy for limiting by Barca exposure to Messi?

  • KindGuy

Messi+Neymar have a floor of 15 points. Suarez is an easy fade despite his scorching hot form. I’m a one lineup guy and can’t stomach the possible sub 10 score.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m doing a complete fade. However crazy you might be, there’s somebody worse.

Dortmund’s LU makes me want to vomit. Castro, Kagawa, Pulisic and Shirley all on the bench? Weigi starting. Looks like they are trying not to give up a goal and will be happy with a 0-0. Screw that, they should try and boat race Benfica. Totally rethinking my LU now. Just disgusting

0-0 would be a very poor result for them

  • kvzeek

If you’re on fanduel GPP you have to play trapp. Home underdog with huge save potential.

Also on fanduel as a salary saver I see Fejsa from benfica at midfield for 5500. I was able to swing a neymar aubameyang combo up front with reus and busquets. He’s a do it all guy from a scoring category standpoint and defensive stats on FD are worth a lot and he should be behind the ball a lot.

Not necessarily. They probably feel they are huge favorites in the 2nd leg at home. That being said, getting an away goal could be important, so they’d obviously prefer 1-1.

Dortmund look like they’re going to try to hold for a 1-0 win.

just remember guys, first leg of a round of 16 has historically been a low scoring set of matches. I Wouldn’t put too much dollars into guys that only score goals without filling up the stat sheet

  • lfn1992

Presnel Kimpembe…. just throwing that out there

  • thetitanlb

Call me crazy but i think PSG is gonna win this game and sack a few goals.

    Fanduel, sure. Draftkings, hell no.

  • KindGuy

Really not a lot of value in these two games.

  • afcangelo

Something tells me Iniesta contributes in the score sheet today. Torn on Neymar/Suarez at the moment because I definitely want Lewandowski against this IMO putrid Arsenal club

What’s funny is that at Yahoo he’s the same price Thiago Silva would have been.

Which probably makes sense. Maybe they know what they’re doing over there.

You think? I like the Benfica value; torn on who to play.

The one guy I am really struggling with is DiMaria. He’s a stat sheet stuffer but maybe not with Barca dominating possession.

  • usna1993

I agree about DiMaria – against weaker opponents he is a big cash play – worry about him today…

Barca is only even money to win this game. Vegas thinks PSG has a shot here.

  • StabiloBoss10

    Man i hate this slate.

  • KindGuy

Wow money coming in on the PSG side.
