It’s do or die for Ronda Rousey….. Personally, I think this is the perfect matchup for her… Nunes is super aggressive, super willing to get into the clinch and she only has about 1/4 a tank of gas!! Werdum beats up on Velasquez once again, and we’re going to get him at a dog’s price!!! I like this card!! A lot of clear routes to go down here!! I like Dillashaw over Lineker!! How about you!! Means over Oliveira?

Lol I love the title of this thread. I’m kinda leaning Nunes but that fight should end quickly. Disagree on Werdum. Agree on TJ.

  • Ronnyb

So I’m watching rousey vs Tate now and rousey is excellent in the clinch, great in guard and excellent takedowns from the clinch. She closes fast. But her striking and striking defense is below average. We know the book is keep distance and make this a striking matchup. Nunes can definitely do that and beat her up. But if rousey gets in the clinch she will take down Nunes and beat her up.

I have no clue who wins this especially with rousey being such a wildcard and still with Edmund. Any thoughts. Vegas has rousey as a small favorite, I wonder what the prices for both will be.

I do feel like this card will have a lot finishes and I probably won’t bet on this fight

  • NewMike

I feel like Rousey will be overpriced and the masses will be big on her. The prize pools for this last event are awesome, I usually only play 4 lineups in GPPs but for this one, I might have to add a few more, I’ve already reserved 1 spot in the $3 $150k haymaker.

Watching Tate fight Rousey is probably a terrible idea before this fight, since I feel Tate had such a horrendous game plan when they fought. It’s almost like Tate had Edmund’s twin coaching her. Losing broke Rousey and I almost always bet against fighters that have mentally quit, which is what Rousey has done. She is deadly in the clinch and all the women she fought seemed to not understand that, except Holm. I’m nowhere near an expert on women’s MMA but Nunes seems like the alpha predator in the bantamweight division and will just strike with Rousey and KO her at some point.

Other than in the octagon factors 1) Edmund is her coach 2) She can make lots of money in Hollywood without getting punched in the face everyday and seems like she has checked out as a fighter. If Holm didn’t totally break her, I feel like Nunes will

I agree with what you are saying. The one caveat is that wrestling and takedown defense is still not strong in woman’s mma. If she does eat a punch and get this in the clinch she’s got a huge advantage.

I’ll say this a lot of people will be betting on that fight, this card could see a lot of finishes with some good value at the lower end that for cash games it might be better to avoid this one

I actually like the idea of watching Tate and Rousey II. This is what I will explain in my blog for this event.

Take a look at the very first exchange. Just look at the way Miesha throws her punches. She stumble from how much she was leaning forward with her chin out. Then the start of round 3 she looked like she had no business on the feet against Ronda in that short exchange they did have. Yet she was still able to land some good clean shots on Rousey.

Now going to Nunes and Tate. Nunez straight up owned Miesha on the feet. So if Miesha can tag Rousey then imagine what a superior striker can do. This is pretty much what I am doing.

Yes, I agree. Cash games is too dangerous. But it also depends on the prices. If they are dead even then Ill fade but if I can get Nunes at a big discount then Ill be able to fit 5 winners which more then what you’ll need in cash.

I just switched from Means over Oliveira to Oliveira over Means… Cain is a wounded duck so I’m all over Werdum once more!!

I agree with that. My thinking right now, which will change is to take Cody who should be really cheap over Nunes, just because every Cruz fight goes a decision

  • Baad7114

Will ronda stand with nunes? If shes smart shell try to get the fight to the floor asap but she was willing to stand with holly. We all know how that worked out. I think the biggest question mark is nunes cardio. Can she fight effectively after the first rd?

Whats wrong with Cain now? I was leaning Cain but if he has an injury I’d change my tune quick

It sounds like we agree on how the fight will go. I just have no faith in someone who has to be consoled after a staredown

He did not say Chop but cuz of this it has to make me lean Werdum even though Cain vs Stipe for Belt is a dream!

Cain is always injured, but I think it’d be a huge mistake to overlook him in this spot. He looked fine in their first fight, he just gassed in a round which he never does.

This card is really going to suck for GPPs since there are only 11 fights scheduled now. First time I’ve looked forward to just watching a card over the DFS aspect of it in a while.

pricing is out. This is just a strange card for draft kings. It’s either close fights or the favorites who usually win by decision.

I think for cash I might go with nunes and rousey

  • Ronnyb

I’m not a smolka fan but this card is looking like he will be on all of my cards

  • jolokia

I remember saying that a few months ago RonnyB, lol.

Interesting card, I have no idea how to attack it so far.

I’m perplexed so many live dogs as well. I originally had Cain but hearing about his back problems and impending surgery he’s a huge wildcard as well. They gifted thatch a fight but he’s been submitted and knocked out recently. It’s a weird card. The only thing I’m certain is that rousey/nunes ends in a finish.

CruZ/garbandt and linekar/dillashaw will probably go the distance in stand up fights unless the dogs knock them out.

I’m Confused I thought a fighter has to be cleared to fight and what doctor is going to clear a fighter they say has a hard time standing upright longer than 10 minutes due to lower back pain.

“It’s an achy pain that goes down your leg, and it gets to a point where if you’re standing for 10 minutes, you have to sit down,” Velasquez told ESPN.com.

So he is taking Cannabidiol (CBD) to control the pain while training which he plans on discontinuing at least a week before and get a cortisone shot to help with any pain.

But if the cortisone shot does not help with the pain which I know all too well that many times cortisone shots do very little to help with pain. that means he fights on a bad lower back.

This is a huge fight for Cain so why would he risk a possible title shot down the road if he is not close to 100% and why would Vegas still have him as a 2 to 1 favorite. Something just seems strange like Vegas wants you to put your money on Werdum.

Cain’s career could be in jeapodary. Back issues really limit you and take a long time
To heal. I pulled a muscle in my back and it took me 3 months to heal and I couldn’t work out or play sports, a disc issue is even worse. Werdum has great cardio is good in the clinch and great on the ground. If Cain is slow or off this will be a repeat of Mexico City

Totally Agree. If his back flares up all the training in the world is not going to help. Werdum’s game plan should be simple, hang on and put his whole weight on Cain until he simply can not take it no more and let Cain collapse and then submit him.

It just sounds too damn easy. And why would Vegas still and the bookmakers know the history still keep Cain who lost to Werdum a -220 favorite?

  • NewMike

Why is Thatch the biggest fave on this card? I don’t remember his last 2 that well but I remember Benson (who looked like he was 2 weight classes below him) just taking him down at will. Is he someone’s nephew?

I’m passively creating lineups and it really doesn’t seem like you don’t need to bargain hunt on this one. Way too early to be too sure on picks though, need to wait and find out more about injuries and weigh ins and a certain someone’s mindset.

Maybe Cain is putting out some misinformation?

  • Ronnyb

Watching tape on niko and he might beat thatch.

Right now I like Garcia over Pyle, I’m leaning towards linekar the rest I have no clue

  • jolokia

So I’m in a tricky situation now, I’m going to Europe on Sunday and won’t be able to edit my lineups while I’m there.

I can’t trust Cain/Nunes now with all this information, or lack there of. I guess I’ll just throw some parlays at the bookies while I’m there.

    No wifi there?

I still like Cain but maybe werdum is his kryptonite.
