Askren is such a dud now, he just wanted his pay day. Once I saw what he looked like at the weigh in I didn’t even bother to watch the ‘fight.’ He looked like he didn’t even train and got absolutely destroyed quickly.

Off topic but wish Paul would actually fight a real boxer and then maybe I’d tune in… right now it’s just been a circus of names and nothing else.

As to this card — would LOVE to see Masvidal upset him… but don’t see it happening.. what I don’t want to see is abunch of foot stomping by Usman again —- that was super annoying.

usman opened at -400 at william hill sportsbook. he has lost only once and is aver. 123 fpts. on dkings. if masvidal can last 3 rds. play the stack and get maybe 160 fpts.

Simmons OUT with a rib injury per @BigMarcel24

Yeah, I was holding out hope until the bitter end though.

Paul isn’t going to fight anyone legit in boxing if he can keep cashing big checks by not doing that. People love a spectacle. Myself included cos I wasn’t buying it, but I was intrigued and sought out the clip. I have seen Askren “strike” in fights and yet I was still maybe he can tie him up? Gas him out a little? Maybe? Then after watching it was like, well self, what did you really expect? lol

Won’t make for the most exciting fight (again) but the good news is that foot stomps count now, so at least if Usman does it 200 times you’ll get those points.

Yeah, feel like he was just barely optimal under the old scoring (and scored 156.3 under the new scoring). I’ll probably have Usman in the 80% range of exposure.

I’m starting Usman/Zhang and will get different other places. Probably underestimating Rose, but I’ve purchased a ticket for the Zhang hype train, choo choo! Nothing can go wrong!

I’m probably way off, but I think Rose will win the striking for the first 3 rounds and make it look pretty easy. And then it’s whether or not she can hang on in the later rounds.

Zhang is pretty dang hittable, but she’s definitely got the durability and cardio edge. I think it is a bit of a hype train right now and this fight is way closer than -200.

I’m just not ready to put Zhang into the class of Nunes or Shevchenko just because she caught Andrade and went to a split with Joanna. I’ll have way more Rose

    Fair enough.

I’m really looking forward to this one – hands down my favorite fight on the card.

They will be using the bigger cage here, right?

  • CityBoy410

I know the Weidman vs Hall fight seems unpopular to some but I’m actually looking for it since it’s basically a rematch from their early fight days

  • factorial89

masvidal has not been knocked out in over 12 years.

Yeah, which I’m hoping keeps the scores down in the scrub fights (but it probably won’t).

Yeah, totally forgot this was a rematch. I really like Weidman here regardless. He’s got everything going for him in this matchup (except for chin).

49 pro fights, tko’d once and that stoppage was questionable. Jorge has some crazy durability.

So- I play lots of 10 + 25 cent satellites because I’m hooked on DK Achievements.
Ended up with many Throwdown entries for Saturday. Also it’s finally Round One of my DK Knockout King contest. Last place (100th) still wins $750 so I’m happy.
Top 50 move on to Round Two May 1st. I’m going to be very crazy Saturday night.
Looking at Batgerel and Weidman now. Hope I’m not mad about the scoring.

Basically $3400 in ticket entries that cost me about $50. $300,000 gets split by 100 ticket holders. Last place (100th) still wins $750 so I’m happy.

Damn Joe…You’re always killing it with qualifiers man. Do you play a cash type build or what’s the secret?

Other than following you guys, I mainly follow the actual odds on betonline and make my best “value” picks. Don’t care about ownership.
Been on a lucky streak since Thanksgiving.

I’m in the same boat….rooting for Masvidal, but just can’t see him winning.

I like looking at points per minute (not including decision points). Under the new scoring, He has scored over 5 points per minutes in 7 of his last 9 fights. If he wins a decision at that rate, it’s at least 155 points and right now Vegas has over a 50% chance of Usman by decision.

In Masvidal’s last 4 losses, all by decision, he has only scored more than 2 points per minutes one time and that was only 2.10 points. His other three losses were at 1.23 (vs Usman), 1.13 and 1.36.

Also of note, Masvidal scored 135.66 points per minute against against Askren.

What y’all think about those comments Rose have made. Do you think it will work for her or against her mentally. I heard her comments on it and still confused why would she make that statement when fighting Weili now.

Impossible to know for sure. I don’t think she wins or loses because of her comments though – it’s going to come down to whoever fights the best that night. Just hope no one goes full Stephens at the face offs lol.

Yeah true. I just thought it was a little outside of her character coming into this fight compare to her fights with Joanna. Plus the last thing she needs is any negative comments towards her because she has a history of letting things get to her mentally but I guess she also showed mentally toughness in the past also. Either way this will be an interesting good fight, I hope.

Honestly, my initial thoughts were she put unnecessary pressure on herself and that it was a negative… but then it’s like how do I know that? *There is just no way to know where her head is at, or where it will be at Saturday night, so I’m just trying to objectively look at how they match up independent of that stuff.

The lead up to and conclusion of the first Rose/JJ fight was hilarious. JJ talking insane amounts of trash to get ko’d in round 1 lol. Good times.
