DK showing Antigulov vs Ed Herman but he has been replaced by Khadis Ibragimov.

    *Also LOL at the Jets

Been shit more often than not in mma for a while so my opinion mostly will be silent (Kattar is obviously very live). Im more here to party at the release of Soukhamthath – ive gotten the yips mma betting and almost positive he started it.

  • someclevername

Ahh, I saw that Curtis Millender had been released, but I missed the others. Thomas Gifford wasn’t on the level so it’s not a shocker to see him cut. I do feel kinda bad though cos he got the sh*t beat out of him by Mike Davis then cut. That’s a bad month. As far as Souk goes…

You gonna turn it around this week though

Might take a shot on Grant – the layoff is a little scary but not impressed with Popov. Considering *Roosevelt Roberts. Prob going to play Imadaev, but that’s more a fade of Danny Roberts’ durability. Herman / Ibragimov should be interesting lol. Martin / Emeev screams competitive fight, but terrible for dfs (slate breaker alert). I could see Hardy winning until he heats up a bowl of Campbell’s chunky soup in between rounds and gets DQ’d. Leaning Zabit but my confidence on this card is currently about 2/10.

*Edited for clarity – one too many Roberts on this card.

Same. I’ve failed pretty hard on all these Russian cards.

Have to think Ed Herman is pretty live against Ibragimov. That performance against Jung was a mistake to be filmed.

Ibragimov losing to Jung was the ONLY fight I got right on that card. Hall of Shame lineup.

Yeah, that was a fight I got right too… but then that card had the the Su Mudaerji/Soukhamthath debacle.

I’m thinking on this card I’m going to go light on the DFS and try out the new DK sportsbook app (just became available in PA). See if I can hedge out of some of my losses (that or compound them).

How they gonna release him when all 3 guys he beat are still on the roster. I can think of a few fun fights for him at welterweight, he does need to work on his ground game though. Really pulling for Kattar though, I think he can win this fight especially if Zabit gets too wild which will leave openings for Calvin. Been a fan of Kattar for a long time, I remember watching him on AXS TV in I think CES MMA, or one of those northeast promotions. I remember wondering why he wasn’t in the UFC, dude was just so technical. Love to see the winner fight Yair. Zabit vs Yair would be more fun though. With that said, WAR Kattar!

  • scott33

Main event is only 3 rounds? WTF is this? Kattar is saying it’s bc Zabit’s team didn’t want it to be 5 rounds, any truth to this? 3 rounds definitely favors Zabit, dude gasses after 2 rounds. Well that kind of changes my opinion on this fight.

I think the main was supposed to be JDS/Volkov… and Zabit/Kattar was signed to be 3 rounds. I agree this favors Zabit.

Perfect gif lol f’ng Soukhamthath, good riddance!

Nice for PA residents! Texas will never pass it, but where there’s a will there’s a way lol. I don’t really bet that much anymore…was low-key looking at Tony Martin at dog odds. Don’t want to play him for DK though.

Yeah, I was a little surprised at the Millender release, but like you said he needs to work on his ground game. Maybe he will now, who knows.

Lungiambula is ridiculously built and completely dominated his last fight, other than the fact this bout is in Russia its insane he is +310. Definitely the ‘upset’ to put some money on and into your lineups.

I’m not sure that I am going there, but don’t hate it. Ankalaev has failed before as a big favorite, granted that was an unbelievable last second sub lol, but still. Dalcha could definitely win, never know.

  • thevogaman

I think Dalcha can avoid being finished at least.

Hardy, Dalcha, Kattar, Grant, & Herman all have very real paths to high scores. Herman is my favorite dog here. Is Ibragimov better than Cummins? Herman was always slow and stiff…. so even though he’s older than me, it’s not like he had athleticism to lose. I’m thinking he goes on a Dan Kelly-like run here before they put him in with some killers and he gets KO’d in the 1st. Live for a split decision.

I think I’m going heavy on Greg Hardy this card and because of his last fight I think he will be lower-owned than he should be. I’ll probably be like 40%/30% Hardy/Volkov for this one. Hardy has to know his only path is to bumrush right?

Also, think Grant will carry the most ownership in the cheap range.

Edit: Also watching weigh ins and those shirts are sweet. Reminds me of Roddy Piper’s old school look.

  • someclevername

“I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass…and I’m all out of bubble gum” – love me some Rowdy Roddy!

While I do not think Ibragimov is better than Cummins, at this point he does have the better chin. I do not feel good about myself doing it, but think I’m going to take Khadis. That was hard to type. It’s early KO or bust, Herman probably the play here, but I’m going to shoot my shot.

Taking Volkov too – this bodes well for you, vogaman. I definitely understand the Hardy play, but if he can’t land a bomb Volkov has great volume, especially for a HW. It will not shock me to see him staring up at the lights though lol.

I’m also going to roll w/Zabit but again see Kattar as a good dog. I really am not confident in any favorites on this card. I’m even trying to talk myself into Zawada :0

And just when you thought you had all the answers… I changed the questions!

This whole card should play pretty close. I don’t think there will be a ton of upsets so it’s going to be picking that right one. Maybe it is Dalcha or Grant.

Doing Karaoke with the old lady… any requests?

  • someclevername

The last time I did karaoke was my bday and while absolutely hammered attempted to do “It’s Tricky” by Run DMC. You can guess how it turned out, but it was fun lol.

If y’all are doing a duet can’t miss with, “Islands in the Stream”.

I need to be updated on this.

Only rap ones I can pull off is California Love or west coast 90s shit.

Any love for Roosevelt Robert’s tomorrow? I think he’s better everywhere.

“It’s Tricky” is a pretty easy song, but I was smashed lol.

I like RR a lot, but not sure how live he is for a finish. I think he wins a decision and scores around 80, but I’m usually wrong lol.

You playing Nurmagomedov? I’m still thinking of playing Zawada. First time he’s (Zawada) had a full camp for a UFC fight and I just don’t think this particular Nurmy is up to snuff. Zawada’s tdd has been poor and Abubakar’s top control isn’t great – might be a recipe for a shitload of tds. Idk, idk – still tinkering.

  • thevogaman

    @someclevername said...

Right now I’m at 100%. Which means you should play Zawada.

    I think Robert’s catches him with a guillotine or a d’arce in the 1st.

100%? Oh shit lol I don’t like that, you usually have pretty damn good reads.

RR does have a nasty guillotine, it’s on the table for sure. I had him in my original build – maybe need to work him back in there. I picked Da Silva against Yak – RR way better than Da Silva.

Time to crack another beer and tinker some more. Which songs have you and your wife done so far? Don’t leave me hanging lol

  • thevogaman

We did that Dirty Dancing song. She’s doing Korn Freak on a Leash now lol.

I think I’m going to do Tom Jones what’s new pussy cat? What could go wrong lol.

    What happened to gje btw?

LOL Korn!! Brings me back to my 20’s, that’s awesome.

Can’t go wrong with Tom Jones, just try to do him justice!

Gje takes breaks from the forum. He’ll be gone for months and then pop back up for a bit. If you love his posts, set him free. If he comes back, awesome! If he doesn’t…he was never ours to begin with lol.
