The event has already started and I can still edit fighters that are literally in the end of the first round. That’s not right

Letting that contest go live would have unleashed a host of lawsuits and broken contractual stipulations. BBbomer is a idiot.

moron! it already went live after tee time!

  • jovanmusk

so the contractual stipulations already were broken

  • Epicsic

So horrible the way the will handle this if its just a free roll. If so I think I will be giving fanduel my business.

Can’t they let it go live, refund everybody, still payout and just eat the money…I mean we all know they have enough of it. What if this happened for a major sport??

  • Sjolly83

imagine if you hit powerball and they told you contest was cancelled because someone knew what the first ball was gonna be

PDFOUR: I was shocked when I found out that a fight had started. However, it would be IRRESPONSIBLE of me NOT to change my lineup.

    Exactly

The problem is that cancelling a guaranteed contest because of site error sets a terrible precedent. Now all they have to do to get rid of overlay is leave a contest open, and then cancel it in the name of “fairness and equity”. Guaranteed is guaranteed.

That was my point via and early comment. They MUST, in my opinion, honor the “guaranteed,” prize pools. The event itself was not compromised, only their scheduled start time. Everyone risked they time and money in good faith. Anyone who loses should receive their buy-in’s back, and DK needs to honor the guaranteed prize-pool winners. Yet, unless we all want to band together and sue over a break-even, this event is dead in the water.

    Good post

I still don’t understand how they can cancel a guaranteed contest

  • Trivonus

I hope DK reads the forums, and understands this is really going to hurt them.

    Great post rangerc

So, if the Milly Maker overlays more than they would like, they can cause an “error,” and cancel it and refund our entry fees. But don’t worry, here’s a $10k freeroll for your hours of research and lineup building.

No they should check their event log and see who changed their teams and change them back.

I agree but that would be to much work for them so they rather just cancel the events and punish the people who played the game fairly.

  • albrechp

I wonder how often backups run at DK…If they had a backup at lock time, load the lineup cards that existed at that time and run the damn contest.

  • dbroth01

well, my refunds just came through, yippee right?

  • tcottrill

If fd offered mma I’d switch all my bankroll right now. I put a lot of time and thought into my lineups. I spent four hours just today working on my lineups and hedges, not to mention the time I spend reviewing fights, writing a blog post, and researching, and it’s all been burned. And the card was playing out like most of those of us that worked at it anticipated, so it likely cost me a fair amount of cash. I’m just now logging in to see this,as I was watching the fights. This is such bs.

can i get my $$ back for ppv!!!

  • JaNelson38

Sorry guys. I dont play MMA but you guys really got the shaft.

Cancelling a GPP after it starts because of an error on the part of the host of the contest sets horrible precedent. DK can now basically change the rules on the fly for any contest, and just claim computer error.

If the shoe is on the other foot, you know you can never cancel an entry after its scheduled start. Ever. For any reason. For DK to do this to its players is ridiculous.

Less commercials and more money for infrastructure and customer service to employ people who know what they’re doing.

Instances like this and the DK reaction are good signs they’re starting to get too big for their britches.

Are they really not going to honor winning lineups that weren’t edited after contest started? In a guaranteed contest?! Multiple other sites that I’ve played on have always paid out winners, no matter what their failure was for the contest. Unreal…
