    Hi Everyone,

As many of you are aware, our site experienced performance issues over the course of Sunday morning and afternoon. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. We strive for the best possible experience for our players, and we do not take this situation lightly.

At DraftKings, our players have always come first, and this situation will be no different. For those players who were impacted, we will make things right. If you’ve already reached out to support, there’s no further need to do so. If you had an issue and have not contacted support yet then please do so as soon as possible. I have my team working around the clock to remedy any unresolved issues, and I ask for your patience.

I would like to thank you for your loyalty, support, and patience as we work diligently on this. We will be in touch again soon with an update and more information.

    Thanks,

CB35 you sound like you work in insurance.

Lloyd’s could offer a product, that is if you can afford it.

I understand that this current situation is a very small. I was more or less thinking risk management for the future if the site went down for 3-4 days.

Not just you. Have been trying to enter a few CFB contests with no luck.

Everything should be up now. For future reference, we’ve implemented a new page on http://status.draftkings.com where we’ll keep everyone informed of updates as they happen on any incidents on our site.

I think the risk management solution is an iron clad terms of service. I’m not smart enough to think of an insurance product that would remedy a situation like this even in a specialty Lloyd’s market. Too many intangibles – the multi day crash could be insured but that is back to the rake+ extra expense and has nothing to do with player funds.

right, refunds are not considered a loss. However a 3-4 day site outage could create serious overlay which would cause the company to experience a large loss in terms of the rake.

I would assume there is already a cyber liability policy in place to protect the company in the event of a hack.

Would be no overlay because no contests would be run.

Massachusetts has one of the first laws about protecting personal information so all MA companies have be compliant with those laws or face fines and other penalties.

I’m sure Dk has the risk management of the business covered if not I know a guy :)

Anyone else still waiting for a refund? Haven’t heard anything from them since Sunday. Followed up with them a few days ago and still nothing.
