The course is not the Golf Club of Houston. It’s Memorial Park, which is a Municipal Course. Pretty sure its a Par 71 and is like 7100 yards.

  • MACKTYSON

Just making a few entries this week, low volume, saving it all for the Masters.

Here is a link to the scorecard for the course for public play – it’s a Par 72 but I’m guessing the PGA Tour will shorten at least one of the Par 5’s so it is a Par 71.

The yardage from the tips says 7292 – that’s a beast for a public course and I guess not many of the public play it from back there.

The Monday Qualifier field is stacked.

    https://stpga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/stpga20/event/stpga2019/contest/1/leaderboard.htm

Lot’s of Pro’s from last week and looks like a few names from the Outlaw Tour from earlier this year.

I’m putting my money on Meen Whee Kim.

Rhein Gibson was on his way to making the cut after day one in Bermuda, but the wind beat his behind on day 2. Maybe it won’t be such a problem in Houston.

So, it’s another brand new course this week? Gah, that sucks. I guess I’ll be going very light again.

    Yeah, that’s a stacked qualifier. Here’s my call…

Quaifier winner: Justin Suh, Brandon Wu, Anirban Lahiri
Fade: Normon Xiong, Grayson Murray, Bronson Burgoon
Sleeper: Isaiah Salinda, Akshay Bhatia, Sahith Theegala

Meen Whee Kim in at T2 so far, lot’s of guy still out there though

EDIT: So apparently this whole time I thought Meen Whee Kim was a different guy than just Whee Kim. Turns out same guy, he just doesn’t use Meen in his name for the Tour.

Just the 20 handicaps on Saturday and Sunday, more interested in the beverage cart girl than playing actual golf.

I have had good weeks for the Houston Open in the past. Sadly I will be playing the minimum this week. Since i know my mind is not going to be on updating sorting evaluating and comparing news notes stats and nonsense.

Politics comes to a head this week. It needs to be followed at the expense of my mental health. The good thing is…..NFL continues, Breeders Cup races this coming weekend, and 10 days to an interesting Masters. I havnt been watching news for a month now, I dont claim to try swaying anyone for or against anyone. Both sides see doom and gloom if the other side wins.

    Please do 3 things.
    1) VOTE
    2) find someone who accepts the fact you are decent person and intelligent who is voting the other side and discuss why you feel that way and what is real and what is nonsense. Accept them, differ in your opinions, talk it out. (It wont change anyones mind but you will understand the divide much better.)
    3) Then go golfing

As funny as I think this could be…..Its just like saying bomb in the airport security line. You could be arrested, let go, and investigated in todays climate. I dont want you to miss any tee times.

Fortunately, there’s not much of that to do this week since it’s a new course. Just throw the dice like everyone else.

Pretty sure I would not get arrested in my community if I murderer someone…Small town old Florida. Family has been here 120 years. If they would allow me to vote twice I would not , but I will blow the whistle. Hopefully I will not miss my tee time I have with the Supervisor of elections so we can discuss DFS golf LUs for the Huston Open.

I think these are going to be “proper” Par 4s and Par 5s, though.

“Memorial Park is a Par 72 measuring over 7,400 yards and most of the yardage is coming from the Par 4’s. There are four Par 4’s measuring over 450 yards, and three of them measure over 490 yards. There are FIVE par 5’s, one of which measures 625 yards, and looks like a bear with water down both the left and right-hand side of the fairway and bunkers surrounding the front of the green. To combat the par fives, we also get FIVE par 3’s. Three of them are over 200 yards, with the longest being 237 yards.”
