My weekend crew really let me down.

Bubba was solid but the Hoge-meister was disappointing. Be interesting to see salaries come out tomorrow. I guess Homa and Xinjun Zhang are getting big bumps.

It’s both an art and a science. Data is important, but perhaps the best thing about working with data is gaining a knowledge of each individual player. Not too many people can use data AND their own knowledge/intuition. Ever say to a “data guy” that you’re playing a hunch? They’ll literally call you an idiot and say that’s “suboptimal”. We’re dealing with human players, not robots here. There’s no such thing as an optimal prediction.

CH matters sometimes, for some guys on some courses. Data guys can’t handle that. They make sweeping generalizations and say it doesn’t matter. Overall, they’re right. But does that mean we should ignore it?

    BTW, I’m a data guy. But I’m also….something else.

Good post – factual and humorous!

I’m not a data guy but work with a bunch and you nailed the response I’d get if I ever said something was a hunch or gut feeling

Not even going to try to figure out what Finau cost me by not winning

FGD: fourth place; $15 in $400 out

    PME: 13th place; $45 in $200 out

    Hybrid: 16th place; $9 in $50 out

Weekend Caddie: seventh place; $5 in $40 out

Beat The Forum vs. Wander Bread $5 in $9 out 393.5-391 WHEW lol

    Fifth Major Satty Tiks: 3

My best week in a couple of years and many thanks to this forum and your picks and thoughts during the week every week for free even :)

    👍 nice week – congrats

Finau cost me winning the weekly money in my season long But I still had a great week there with Finau, JT, Lashley, An, Horschel

DFS mostly sucked with no Finau or Webb and a Xander Sunday collapse

Wow.. You had 2nd and 4th. Just went back and checked.

Had a weird week. I was bracing myself for a huge loss but the gods smiled on me

Got a backdoor cash in the $8 in EURO, still can’t figure out how but that helped a lot

Then the Xander collapse and Finau finishing in 2nd, along with Max Homa’s Most Excellent Weekend put me to just about break-even on the weekend… I was stunned because I had left myself for dead. Had Hoagie not crapped the bed on Sunday I would have probably eked out a profit, but I am not complaining. I’ll take break-even based on where I was sitting on Friday

    On to next week

    PS. Congrats Chiefs fans!

  • ValuableTrader

Created 20 lineups this week with a core of JT/Xander/Im for each one. Had 7 6/6’s but nothing too spectacular. 3 lineups over 500. Xander’s Sunday and the run by Webb/Finau really hurt me. I had $2000 in, won back $1820 so a blah week overall.

I can’t believe how many people were high on Homa. He surprised me. Great tourney to watch though, Simpson/Finau literally came out of nowhere on the weekend and took control.

    On to next week…

    On to next week…

I don’t see Finau or Simpson in the field for the Pebble Beach Pro Am. But Finau played in it last year. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

    likely a 0/61 this week

I stand corrected, it was 0/63.

On GPP bounced off first a few times throughout the week, so wasn’t a total loss – just in H2H was bad.

  • timusbr

My best week in a couple of years

But I will always remember the TITANhawks congrats
