I would like a Rahm Berger with a little Horschel sauce on top and a side Zalatoris, but unfortunately, it costs too damn much money.

That’s 2 of my core 4 this week.

    Webb, Berger, Horschel, Homa

I was thinking order up a Rahm Berger cooked on hot Grillo with melted Laird. Hold the Munoz

I beg to defer. I recall lots of water issues here (by that, I don’t mean lots of water hazards, I mean lots of balls in water). I’ll find some data, but for now:

“Course summary: This desert track is relatively short with undulating Bermuda fairways and large, fast Bermuda greens. Deep bunkering and water hazards are the main defence for this course where consistent ball strikers appear to prosper. The course sits at altitude, so players will have to factor in the additional length when calculating their shots. An exciting closing stretch features a reachable par 5, and a driveable par 4, with danger from water hazards lurking throughout. “

edit: From what you said, though, sounds like we are both strangely in agreement. There will be lots of balls in the water, and it could impact your guy missing cut and/or finishing well (more so than other courses, I’d say).

More so than other courses, sure. Your comment was “is this the course where you live and die by how many balls you knock in the water”. I would think that PGA National, TPC Southwind, TPC Sawgrass, and a few others would be ahead of TPC Scottsdale as “the course” where water has the biggest impact.

I scanned cards for every guy who missed the cut on the number last year. About half had zero water penalties, half had one water penalty, and none had more than one. Of those who found the drink, the average score on that hole was under bogey (two pars, one double, and a handful of singles). And the past two winners have found the drink in Rd. 4 of their win. So, yea, I don’t disagree that it’s a factor, for sure. But “the course”… “live and die by” … “how many” just seemed to me like you must be talking about a different course where water is present on more than 7 holes and leads to doubles more often than singles and pars.

    Ok, good luck!

I’m surprised Brooks didn’t just head home to practice more after this past week.

I’ve probably just cursed myself into a couple core plays taking a double dip into the drink to MC or fall out of contention with my quasi-nonchalance toward the water…

Weird that FD still has not posted their slate.

Yea, I mean, there’s no way to target guys that will avoid the water – it just happens. But, if it’s a big factor, then it might factor into how much I play this week or how much effort I put into it. Just trying to figure out where the needle is on that gauge for me. Luck will always have a factor, but I’d like to play less when luck is needed more.

Stay away from Chesson Hadley, that guy can find water on holes with no water.

Might have to steal a page from SleazyGreazy’s success and go all in on a scrub core of Doc and Homeless.

Richard Fowler has course history on his side again.

  • Ricolasvegas

Richard gonna be 20% owned soley off C. H. ? He really seems to have lost his mojo… when was last time he had a top 10 ?

  • 1971hof

I’m gonna have some Fowler this week. He needs to climb from his current #62 to #50 in World Golf Ranking before April 1st in order to get into the Masters. This tourney and the Players is one of his best chances for a decent finish.

Yes, but how will he fare without being able to take full advantage of his PGA Tour Career best (or at least 2nd best to Eldrick) Strokes Gained by virtue of large drunken crowds chanting about your large penis metric. Probably ought to work that into your model.

Why do big names play the Saudi International? The purse is a pittance. Must be some side benefits?

Building up OWGR to get in the Top 50 for Majors (see: Shane Lowry on how this can work out) and Olympics placement

LoL. For the record, I’ve been on a No-Rickie regime for at least a year.

But I played him last week and he made the cut, in sharp contrast to Thurston Howell the III and Billy Hobag. (I think I had him in 2, probably won’t go any heavier this week either.)

It seems they know nothing about the play 36, drink too much and put the balls to the wall strategy.

Neither called you stupid but the guy on top doesnt like the play. I think the guy on the bottom was intrigued. not sold on it but…

same arguments we have had here.

I won’t ever play him again. Once he realized he wasn’t going to win, he really couldn’t care less about making the cut. I have no use for that kind of attitude.

  • Money0227

Ugh…first two names that popped into my head this week as my must plays…Berger and Homa. Berger 2nd in initial projected ownership and Homa 6th.

Btw…Bubba 10th. We’ll see how much that falls as the week progresses.

This reminds me about the comments on Bryson DeChambeau wedge stats. The end result is what is important.
Its hard to hear anything negative over the sound of Cha-Ching.
