    RG Chief Meteorologist

UPDATE TO CHI GAMES – Light rain is falling over and around Chi, but we should be able to play through it. The bigger concern is the ugly rain mass southwest of CHI that could arrive late, this would bring heavier rain. Models have it tracking very close to or just south of Chicago. I still think the majority (if not all) of this game plays OK, but that 2nd rain shield could cause enough problems for me to keep this as YELLOW (with a hint of ORANGE).

Thanks for all the kind words on the AM post, now let’s get into another tricky forecast tonight:

OAK @ NYY – Rain around now, but it will slowly clear and dry up. YELLOW for late start potential.

SD @ PIT- Light rain on the way, but juuuust as it arrives, it should be eroding. 2 different forecast models have this system drying out just as it reaches PIT. GREEN/ YELLOW.

HOU @ CLE – Same situation as Pit game, radar looks impressive now, and showers are on the way, but they should also start to fade just as they arrive. GREEN/ YELLOW.

MIA @ BOS – Rain and storms stay just south. GREEN (tiny hint of yellow).

ARI @ TEX – Line of storms we’ve seen all day in North Texas is mostly dry and gone, the lingering showers will continue to fade through tonight. GREEN (tiny hint of yellow).

STL @ CHC – Light rain is falling over and around Chi, but we should be able to play through it. The bigger concern is the ugly rain mass southwest of CHI that could arrive late, this would bring heavier rain. Models have it tracking very close to or just south of Chicago. I still think the majority (if not all) of this game plays OK, but that 2nd rain shield could cause enough problems for me to keep this as YELLOW (with a hint of ORANGE.

TB @ KC – Light showers are cleared. GREEN.

TOR @ CWS – Same as CHC game. YELLOW/ ORANGE.

LAA @ COL – It’s a LOT like last night. It’s moderate rainfall all across Colorado, currently including Denver. That rain will slowly fade, but models do hold on to it for a decent amount of time. Last night the rain faded a solid 2+ hours before models predicted, and we could very well see that again. For now I think it likely will play, but I have to keep at least some low PPD risk in, in case one of these heavy showers sits over the stadium through the night. YELLOW (with a hint of ORANGE). Do with this info as you will, don’t tweet me about it the next morning :)

That’s all for now, stick with me on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) for updates and radar images.

I know 99.9% of you are really truly appreciative of myself and RG for the weather work, so a sincere thank you goes out to all of you.

Happy Grinding, I’ll hop back on as updates are needed,

I love the Roth report as much as I am disgusted by your profile pic, ggoose

  • vinylsmokes

Shame on you for not always being able to 100% predict future weather patterns in the exact locations of every stadium around the country.

  • FanalystDrew

Roth is #1 is MLB Weather reporting. People just need someone to blame for making there shitty lineups.

  • BTXJ

those scumbag twatters send hate tweets to the players themselves, so now you know you’ve made it. keep up the great work.

  • rcub

Don’t let the few knuckleheads convince you that what you do for this site is not as invaluable as any other contributor. You do a great job and the fact that you don’t play and do this means that it is a passion of yours. I appreciate what you do greatly!!Keep it up

  • Hirolr33

Anyone who would complain about a free forecast that is about 99% accurate is a degenerate loser and simply upset they are just not very good at DFS. Thank you for the insight you provide us every day!

  • MickFucci

We all know how hard it’s is and you do a great job. Don’t let idiots get you down. That said I would have been mad at the tweet too!

  • tyrant1014

Roth, I followed your projections, yes they played, yes they lost big time. But how can a person blame you, your forecasts were pretty damn good, trying to get into the mind of those that make the calls as to whether or not the game will play is something that no one can figure out. I still give you a thumbs up and a A+

  • JaserD

Long time reader, felt compelled to be a first time poster. Kevin, I appreciate the value you bring to this forum on a daily basis…Keep up the good work!

  • jstewart6987

Thank you for always providing great weather insight. For those sending you B.S. tweets and messages are idiots who don’t know how to construct lineups and blame others for their own failures.

    Keep up the great work.

  • Themuffinman127

I moved off of the LAA-COL game because of your forecast but I do remember you saying that it would prob play. Just did it because i didn’t want to take the chances on it. You are still the best!!!! appreciate all the work you put in.

  • cradfordschott

Thanks, Kevin. You do a great job. Forget the nitwits giving you a hard time. They clearly don’t understand that a forecast is an educated prediction, not some crystal ball.

  • flavor

Kevin— screw all those haters. Don’t respond to them, just block their asses. You are THE MAN. Don’t let some wussy living in his parents basement take one second away from the sleep you need to do the great work you do DAILY for all of us. #weatherGod

  • masdaace23

you helped me out thanks roth!

  • xandamere

It’s human nature to try to look for excuses.

The rational folks among us know you do a spectacular job. :)

  • martie21

Always looking at your forecasts before I lock my lineup in. Screw the haters, all the grinders appreciate your hard work! Keep it up!

  • FrancisBooth

The bottom line is that you said it had the potential of a ppd. You didn’t say “It will definitely be ppd so make sure you take all of your players out of that game now.” Just like anything else on this site, what you do is a guide and anyone who blames you for their mistakes should be looking in the mirror and not firing off some stupid tweet about it. Thanks for everything you do man.

  • fadein34

Only WX I trust in the world. Screw those jokers!

  • Matt_inSTL

1st forum post, just to let you know that the majority of us “get it”. Please don’t let those tweets discourage you. Most of us use several sources for game research, and always take weather as a high variance gamble when storms are moving across the states. Hard to predict and never a 100% guarantee on days like yesterday. Keep up the great work!

  • sgaffney

Don’t even waste time writing people like this a response. Idiots who blame someone else for their decisions will not be called off by sound arguments and rational thought. They will blame you again next time it happens, and the rest of us will not even consider your accurate forecasts as a reason for our failures!

    and you are.

High stakes players trust you. You can see that every night.

I dont even check my phone for local weather anymore, I just wait for the Roth report!

There are a lot of people on the internet that are so negative/ungrateful/self unaware that they feel its warranted to lash out at others, even those trying to help. Many of those people play DFS. Some of them have even joined RG and many of those have been banned. They’re lurking all over Twitter though.

DFS experts get hit with these types of tweets daily, even the very best of them.

The fact that it took this long for you to receive enough Tweets to make a post like this is perhaps the strongest testament to the accuracy/value of your content.
